*Featuring the honeyed vocals of the artist himself, this memorable tune has received early radio support from Above & Beyond, who introduced Marsh to the world in 2012, when they generously bestowed "Record of the Week" honors upon his "Sleeping Now."*
I had to listen to this track 2-3 times to finally understand how good this is! I just love the (background)melody. If only more people would listen to that kind of music...
I have to be honest with you: this track would be a 10 without the vocals; I can't conclude different than that they are a disturbance to my ears. Always trying to find the 'why?!' part here: maybe it's the emotion in the vocals, maybe it's the frequency, I'm not sure... Still a like from me (as always) ;-) PS Dub version? :)
We especially love the vocal version of this song, so we can't promise a Dub version, ED. However, we respect your taste and worth noting that vocals have always been controversial for our community...probably why 90% of our releases are instrumental only.
I understand that! I was also thinking about 'vocals in the background vs. vocals on the foreground'; the latter mostly works worse for me. I think I have to conclude that, while focusing on the melodic sounds, these vocals being on the foreground (too much for my taste), I can't catch the melody well enough anymore; thus contemplating and sensing the vocals as a disturbance ;-) But as I implied: it's my emotion towards this track, nothing purely rational...."Music speaks louder than words" ;-)
That's the vision of the artist himself and we have to respect that. Marsh actually sang himself, it's his voice, and we know for sure this track is very special out of the entire album for him personally. :)
I see! I find it to be very special as well and very non-mainstream, so I can only look forward to more tracks like this. Nothing wrong with his voice, so curious how other productions with his vocals will sound to my ears; maybe a more desired combination in my case ;-) A fair side note: as a man, I always preferred female vocals, so that counts too I guess ;-)

I'm trying to find out what the lyrics are?
I think he says
Did it hurt thought this _____ to waist it all
That's a good guess - we're not 100% sure. Hoping Marsh will reveal the mystery soon via a reply here.
ME AND YOU, GOT THIS FAR TO WASTE IT ALL.
Gotta work it out
Don't waste it all
