I'm sure you will see other channels do this now, but I had not seen anyone restore one to show how the sparking worked. It was my favorite before and really wanted people to be able to see it.

I resisted the urge. I was shocked the alcohol didn't light, but I liked showing it's fairly safe unlike other made up reports. If you TRY to light a fire, then yeah it may work so DON'T. But I'm so happy to have a functioning one on the shelf.
You know u made wheeler spark again they should of made him with a mechanism like blackstar figures where u can change the flint in those figures
It would have been more "recycle" friendly. But they way it's put together you can't even reload it. It's like it's machined together. Human hands don't seem able to refill it.
maybe they put clear plastic shield in because of those flint pieces flying out and going in kids eyes lol glad you took it out it probably be lame with it in
May as well be a light bulb with the cover on. The one I had as a kid had no cover. It DOES shoot black soot of sorts out so I get it though. But they did sell it without before.
I know its just better with the hole seeing the sparks shoot out so satifying makes u feel like a little fire starter@@MBXfilms

By my research it likely won't, but may as well try. End result mine is easily refillable as well as in working order so I'm still happy even if there was an easier way. No one else was showing a functioning one.
Amazing! I got one from a Flea Market and it still works even though the small plastic square shield is still on, the sparks still light up in it.

@@MBXfilms I also got a Suchi monkey figure from ebay for $50. If you type Captain Planet monkey it will show you one so you can get Suchi.
I had one when I was a kid but it never worked
And that's why I fixed one up, for everyone that never really got to see it.
Must have been missing the flint or it was just missing, or the spring loaded mechanism was busted.
I need a tutorial on how to do this to mine!
Yes please show us what u used so others can get theirs working probably a dremel to cut hole and milliput to hold lighter mechanism in place
