      For us as Nepali if you speak Nepali you are Nepali. Two big civilisations Chinese / magnolia & Indo Aryan settle here. So until you are British white we think you are Nepali if you speak Nepali. And also when we see white people we think they are British. So not to offend anyone we usually ask which country they came from. Otherwise people assume all white are British. Nepal & Britain has more than 200 years old history as allies.

      @mlrd2687 6 місяців тому

      @@Dusk_hunter The Serbs and the British were allies for a much longer time, so after that Britain bombed Serbia twice in the space of 60 years. The British are allies of anyone who is against China and Russia. Now they are pushing their Ukrainian allies into the clutches of death. Powerful states achieve their interests through small states at the cost of destroying their allies. You don't need enemies beside such friends.

      The subtitles aren't super accurate (especially with Xiaoma's bad grammar 😅), I would have translated it "you seemed like a Nepali person" rather than him actually thinking he was Nepali. But yes Nepali people are generally so kind and excited towards people learning their language!

    Nepali people are some of the sweetest people I've ever met. And not to mention, almost all of them speak Hindi (India's national language). I'm Indian, but Nepal has a big place in my heart... the mountains, the calmness, the people, the food, and raksi bina ma marchu 😉🇳🇵❤ JAI NEPAL
    Also, because both of us say NAMASTE, in Sanskrit it literally translates to "I bow to you", but what it means is: "The divine in me, bows to the divine in you". It's recognizing the same soul and divinity in the person or animal you're greeting.

      We eat spicy food. Fireball Chilli 100k - 350k Shu we eat that chilli. So our spicy level can be seriously harmful for some westerners.

    queens nyc is the food capital of the world, lived there over 20 years and no one could even convince me otherwise. no matter the cuisine, you can find it there. from a food cart, to a small mom and pop, to a 5 star.

    Back in college I used to work with a bunch of Nepali people and got invited to lots of parties and weddings and all the fun things. Since there was a large population of them in town, I didn't really consider how small of a country it actually is. One of my coworkers told me that if I just said "ketcha dai" to any Nepalese guy, they'd immediately be impressed that I know how to say whats up. I realize now how honest he was being. Such a fun video, brings back memories i'm happy to reminisce on.

      That's amazing! How is a Nepali wedding? The few weddings I have been to here in the U.S. have been stale and a little boring. Are there massive cultural differences?

      @@thelifewithnate I'm not sure what the og commenter's experience was like but Nepali weddings involve lots of red and green. Y'know how white is the color for American weddings? Well green but mainly red is it for Nepal. They will both be dressed in cultural clothing and the bride will have henna tattoos. I recommend searching for Nepali weddings on the google search bar and then going to the images portion. You'll be greeted with actual wedding photos! (trust me, they're fr)
