- Saskatoon, Saskatchewan cost of living. So you're considering moving to Saskatoon and you want to know the cost of living in Saskatoon.
I break it down into several categories.
Housing - Condo, townhouse, detached and luxury. Rent on the low side is $900/month and as high as $2500 for luxury accommodations.
Next are the cost of utilities in Saskatoon. Heat (natural gas) power and water. Heat is about $120/month. Power as high as $150/month and water is around $90/month. You will also need to factor internet and perhaps cable in at $100+/month. Don't for get about your cell phone at $70/month.
Groceries come in at the nation average in Saskatoon at $200/per person/Month.
transportation in Saskatoon is $85/month for a bus pass. $150-200/moth for gas and about $90/month for car insurance.
Child care in Saskatoon is $900/moth per child for full time daycare.
Dining/Entertainment in Saskatoon comes in close to the same as most markets. We do have a lot fo free festivals throughout the year to attend.

The cost of living is insane here in BC and with the hight interest rate, I'm scared! I'm thinking about moving.
Lots of people are having the same thoughts you are. Listen I don’t know if moving is right for you but life is what you make it no matter where you live. Sask has amazing quality of life.

I might be the wrong person to ask. Getting old haha. However saskatoon is flooded with restaurants. There is always a new a vibrant lounge or late night place to frequent. I don’t think the traditional bar/night club scene is hot here anymore. But definitely lots of places to keep you busy.

Typically no. Unless it’s on of their own properties realtors in Sask do not deal in rental properties. Facebook Marketplace is the best place to find one.

No. When you rent at most the only thing you’re responsible for is utilities. Sometimes those are even included in the rent.

Great video. Silly question maybe: do renters pay utilities or its paid by landlord. with the car insurance, is it $90 per month i am assuming it covers damage to both cars involved in an accident. here in Australia we have car registration ( about $500 annual ) + car insurance + ctp ( compulsory third party which covers medical expenses of all involved in accident ). in total it costs nearly $2k every year. Cheers.
It’s about 80/20. 80% of the time utilities are included in the rent.
As for car insurance. It covers your insurance. Liability and medical all in one. If you are in an accident that is NOT your fault everything is paid for. If the accident IS your fault you have a $700 deductible and the rest is paid for.

It really depends on your price range and the style of property you are looking for. There are only a handful of places to stay away from but for the most part anywhere is good. Scott
