- It's been a while in the making to get the jib crane inside the shop, and it seems it may be just a tad high. The 9" tube post has been cut previously, and my contractor is going to find out how much it would cost to cut 6" off, which would leave us 4" below the shop door when it's rolled up, that's at 11'6". The beam turns out to be 16' long! I just gathered the nuts, bolts and lock washers I need 2 x 5/8-11, and 3 x 3/4-10. The 5/8-11 bolts get wedge washers, which are in transit, I found a pack of 5 on Ebay. This is going in the corner and the beam will reach into the middle of the door or farther, be under the door when it's open and be over my flatbed rack when it is swung over.
The trolley can be used to slide stuff over and/or swung over to the other wall, which is where my lathe and mills will go. Anything without power can go on the opposite 40' wall. This jib crane came with a CM Loadstar 120v hoist, which awaits installation.
I also have a gantry crane with a 2-ton 3-phase Coffing hoist, and a couple 3-ton chain falls. Trying to take care of several lifting options as these old machines ain't getting any lighter...
