Internists and vascular medicine experts are concerned that the threat from deep vein thrombosis is underrecognized among practitioners. Studies show that DVT incidents cause more deaths than traffic accidents or HIV infection, and approximately 50% of those who survive DVT will be affected by its consequences for the rest of their lives. While tremendous progress has been made in treating DVT patients through the advent of low-molecular-weight heparin and direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs), challenges persist. Researchers continue to study how long patients should remain in care following a DVT, and when-if ever-it is safe to release them.

Buddy of mine went to the emergency room to get a third party confirmation of a DVT diagnosis-
She was given no IV drip.
Was neither given oral medicine administered at the ER.
Non local avail.phatmacy medicine was prescribed and could not be purchased because of non insurance covered cost.
She is still getting over the swelling and personal lost&found medicine data record.
(I hope she is able to survive this).
