The first thing I thought with the new day time and season system is interior pools and heated pools :) A lot of water parks I visited have inside and outside areas and their popularity will depend A LOT with the weather. The temperature of the pools will make a big difference too : a heated lazy river can be used outside in winter (and that would be super nice to see steam coming out of the water) with jacuzzis etc. (Bonus if the guests goes out shivering and running to another pool because it's 10 degres celsius outside). It could work the exact same way than animal shelter in planet zoo : the game notice when the area is closed with walls and a roof and the temperature change directly. That could mean you could also create a spa waterpark (with focus on confort so jacuzzies, lazy river, water jet for massages etc) or a fully enclosed waterpark (like aqualiby in Belgium). For the theme park part, that could also give another meaning to holidays themes like christmas, halloween etc. In winter, parks have to put a lot of extra activies often linked to holidays because it's a lot less fun to visit a theme park when it's snowing. So anyway, a lot of dlc's possibilities ;)
I worked in a very large Spa and I already build a part of the facility in PC1. Can't wait to use re-build it with real pools. Now all we need is saunas!
I totally agree with you this time. Also imagine if during winter you can empty water from pools and water rides, because since nobody uses them, it would be useless to have them full of water: it would be a waste of money for keeping water rides and pools running for nothing, and it could be also a risk for health Also imagine if during strong rain you need to stop roller coasters and people use more restaurants, shows and dark rides 😮
I wonder how a winter season will/would work with the waterparks... will guests just not use them, because its too cold? will they use it and use the air dyers afterwards? will the pools freeze and become ice skating rinks? how havent we got anything about that??
Would also be nice to unlock decorations for your park exsisting 25 years, 50 years and so on. This allows also more guests to come that year. And have marketing campaigns.
The new day cycle makes me hope that in a later update Frontier will add scheduled parades to the game! (Don't think they'll be in the game at launch.) It'd be so cool to be able to edit parade carts - like the coaster trains - and schedule them to travel around your park at set times. I feel like all the ingredients are there :D
While I would love that as a feature I suppose at least we could fake it by hiding a coaster underground and building floats above the cars, then testing the coaster to run the parade so to some extent we can do it
@Jack-sf9zo that's true! Back then I did not know that coaster scenery did not have to be physically attached to the car at all. So indeed, you could totally make a parade like that! Still, I'd like for guests to make way for the parade ;)
I like the idea of guests leaving at the end of day. I was also under the impression you choose a location in the world which i assume determines the climate as well. A colder climate park might require indoor pools.
I like the idea of a slower clock and the different gameplay opportunities it brings but this also means that you might have to play for 3-4 hours just to get to an evening setting in the game
I'm kinda hoping indoor swimmingpools and themeparks will actually be useful for when it's bad weather. Most of the real ones stay open throughout the winter so it would make sense to have that in the game when seasons play a bigger part of the management. Not really sure if it will be possible, but they have shown things already that I never expected to be in this sequel. The improvement to paths and moving scenery on rides for example, never thought that was going to be possible. The way the animations work makes me think it would be possible to eventually get a tool to create custom flatrides like in the game indoorlands.
Hey Rudi, great video! Hearing about Phantasialand Wintertraum made me jump, because I'm going to Wintertraum for the first time in a month! I have been to Phantasialand 6 times already, just never during the winter (I'm from The Netherlands btw, Winter Efteling is what I'm rocking each year haha). My mom is going with me (22 y/o me without driver's license and public transport for one day is not ideal lol) and she has never been to Phantasialand in general, so it's a complete unknown for her and a new experience for me as well :) next year I will likely hit the coaster bingo in Phantasialand with Winja's, Colorado Adventure and Crazy Bats and probably even sleep in Hotel Charles Lindbergh :D
I wish they would put different toggles for the time like normal, the second one would be like you’re describing each day of the month, and thirdly I would like to see one that goes by your system time from your computer and it matches with real time also they could go step further and have it mirror your system time and track your system whichever one you use and if it’s raining outside, it could be raining in your park. That’s just a pipe, but that would be awesome. 20:03
They should have temporarily u design it once click all the pieces that will be added in when rain expected like roofs or maybe even decorations for Halloween or Christmas maybe even the mech at night are seen putting it up and taking it down Maybe like a staff room and be link to all the decorations, some idea for parades make floats store them in staff building make a path connecting two that the floats with follow
I would love to see parade and horror themed nights along with christmas themed nights. Most major parks have these, and it would be amazing to have characters that matched these themes and scheduled parades with floats you could build to entertain your guests.
I really hope they are gonna add parades in the future. Could be similar to the guided tour in Planet Zoo with placing the points all through the park. Would love that!
hoping for more realism with the guess and staff that all i ask lol oh and weather like if it snow janitors and maybe a new profession snow removal will have to get done or guess will get mad .Just adding realism like that go a long way even sandy maps might have to sweep sand off paths and they better add in a better info stall planoc1 made me sad when i was thinking back to RCTY1,2 how it had a better park management drive to it
There are a lot of "tycoon" elements that are missing based on everything I've seen so far. They've made a great stride in the right direction but a lot is missing... like ticket sales booths that you can add at the front of the park if your park has a one price admission, or spread around the park if your guests have to buy specific ride tickets, booklets or tokens, etc. Then each ride would have a ticket "collector" at the beginning of the queue. Other things missing... working turnstyles, park exits to be different than entrance, collission of people - currently walking through items like walls, would be great to be able to upload a park logo that could then later be added to merchandise or on posters, etc. around the park which leads to more robust concession stands (by that I mean would be great to create our own menus or items to sell such as merchandise, shirts, with our park logos, etc.), would be very cool to have a dynamic "map" be created based on what we build so we could easily add a "you are here" map around the park, pools should be able to have different depths so that there is a shallow end and not all the same depth, and speaking of pools, there should be a way to add buoys or roped off areas to keep swimmers in a pool away from the splash down areas of a slide AND would be nice to incorporate a lazy river within an existing pool (I have not seen that yet and they look like they have to be separate). I have not seen enough of the water tools and would like to see and be able to sink a log ride down into the water. Man I could go on... There's so much missing, I just know it's going to be a DLC cash grab. Some things to consider would be maintenance costs for additional vegetation around the park - that brush to add trees and shrubs is great but there are costs to maintain, water, trim and cut all that greenery. How's that baked into the overall maintenance of the park costs?
As one of those people who immediately slowed Planet Zoo down as much as I could the instant they added that feature, I am 100% on board with a slower, more realism-focused time scale for PC2!
I hope guest temperature isnt a managment thing like in Zoo. I get having to have sunscreen on sale near pools and baskin areas etc, but having to keep guests cool in the summer and warm in the winter will just lead to people spamming air conditioners and heaters everywhere. It could become a very tedious, annoying and ugly managment mechanic that just gets in the way of the fun.
I dont like getting punished by a game mechanic. I dont want to dread winter coming around because guests get cold and it costs me money to keep them warm. I dont mind a game mechanic i can take advantage of tho. Let us make money by selling jumpers so guests can stay warm etc. I hope its not just a case of, it cost money to keep guests cool in the summer and costs money to keep guests warm in the winter. Give us ways of using weather to our advantage.
I wonder if Planet Zoo might get integrated somehow in the future? I would really like that. At least in some compatibility mode on pc. This is not necessarily about putting zoo's in your theme park, unless you wanted to do a Busch Gardens type park. It's more about being able to use items from one Planet game into another Planet game. A game ecosystem.
just wait till the 3rd game for that. Im guessing 2032 since they took 8 years for this one. They shoudl start development on 3 like now so we can get in 4 years not 8. RCT2 and RCT3 didnt take 8 years to come out it took 2. So this is just them being greedy with the dlcs and elongating the game.
Okay here me out what if each month you'll need to pay for the power usage. like for example doing the winter it'll be more profitable for you to turn off all the water coasters as it's too cold to go on a ride on it.. i think that would be a really cool part of the overall management system we got
Great video! Do you know if building coasters in career mode still works the same or can you first design a full coaster before spending money? It really bothered me that I could lose money just from accidentally choosing the wrong coaster track type or something like that.
With the new scenery features it would be cool if we could ter a vekoma madhouse ride then we can decorate them ourselves only thing i think would be difficult would be lack or preshows and entry / exit with how planco flat rides work
I'm hoping that it will be harder to earn money for a challenge . In the first one I would barrow something like 120,000 set two Insanity's down and work on other things with those two rides paying off the loans . I did that just to build out my first two coasters along with some other things without having to wait for the funds , but it was easy enough to pay back.
I just want a planet coaster/planet zoo crossover damn it. Think about the Busch Gardens and Sea World type parks you could make. Plus it would allow me to relive my RCT3 Soaked and Wild days.
I thought you would do it, but in the end didn't reach to tackle what could be a cool game changer: that we would need to create fully enclosed areas in a taiga biome, including entire water parks with perhaps a pool section in the open air
Yal reaching with the seasons … most parks in the real world that exist in area where there is actual winter weather regularly DON’T OPEN AFTER HALLOWEEN WHICH IS FALL IN AMERICA WINTER DON’T BEGIN UNTIL END OF DECEMBER .. park season is like April or May till October no one rides rides in the snow and ice that is a logistics nightmare… amusement parks are mechanical and a seasonal thing.. zoos are year round and some animals climates are cold so a weather system makes sense because biomes are part of the main mechanics of planet zoo but I don’t see them implementing anything besides rain because anything else would cause most amusement parks to shut down

Do you know if the Thememaker's Toolkit will be available with Planet Coaster 2? That would be fantastic, but I suspect the developers will prioritize selling DLCs first.
Is it possible to make a square section of pool at the end of a slide where the guest cant enter and swim in it, it’s just used as an exit for when the slide is finished
I LOVE that people will leave the park!!!! "I" want to roleplay in sanbox that there is a large fee at the entrance only, and guests don't have to pay for individual rides. And see how much money I can make that way. I hated that people would stay in your park for DAYS in the first game.
Very unpopular, but I don’t really like this. I much prefer faster time because I wanna be able to have a day night cycle without being on for like 6 hours.
In Planet Coaster 1, one minute game time is equal to 1 second real time. Looking at your footage and timing the minutes with a stopwatch, on 3x Speed the time is 1min = 2.5s. I'm really excited for the potential of this change because I really wanted a meaningful impact from temperature, weather, and seasons. I'm holding back my expectations though because I don't want to be disappointed if it turns out to be not that different from Zoo, and there isn't enough evidence yet to suggest it won't be merely aesthetic once again. If it rains, guests should want raincoats and umbrellas. If it gets cold suddenly, they should be buying sweaters from the gift shops. It's ironic, but I also wouldn't mind if winter caused rides to close for several months and force me to make a park that was profitable enough when open that it I can afford the maintenance and staff costs during the closed period.
In fs you can set it yourself. Most people do like 1 day = 1 month You also have the option to do 3 days = 1 month or even more. And you can also set the time of day how you want. Like 0.5 or 1 (1 means 1 real like min = 1min in game) Up to 360 or something to skip the day faster.
Honestly a lot of this sounds like an insane amount of micromanaging. It's fair if it's there, but people who just want a casual gaming experience should have a choice to do that.
The first thing I thought with the new day time and season system is interior pools and heated pools :) A lot of water parks I visited have inside and outside areas and their popularity will depend A LOT with the weather. Think how epic it would If there were snow on december in planet coaster
it would look so pretty 🥹 i hope this game has more gameplay based packs. like a severe weather pack
Maybe there could be seasonal events like Christmas lights where or Halloween where certain rides aren’t open due to weather
I totally agree with you this time. I think it'd be cool to have to winterize rides for the winter, then in the spring before opening, you start testing them.
They need to add shows or something of the sort. Realistically, all theme parks have a show or parade!!
It would be hilarious if the game will have thunderstorms the guests will hide somewhere if Lightning strikes close

Planet Coaster is gonna feel like a demo for planco 2
A very bad demo
Other way around. Planco 2 is missing so much stuff, nothing DLC related.

There is a ton of speculation going on here, but the facts are very light. My doubtful opinion on PC 2 has not changed one way or another.
Ich freu mich immer so über deine Videos. Ich bin soooo aufgeregt. 🎉🎉
I wonder if it will matter or not if your waterpark is inside at winter so it can stay busy?
Okay here me out what if each month you'll need to pay for the power usage. like for example doing the winter it'll be more profitable for you to turn off all the water coasters as it's too cold to go on a ride on it.. i think that would be a really cool part of the overall management system we got
I think people will stay in the park over night if they go to a hotel.
Watching thus on 4k TV and commenting on my phone. On the big TV the graphics look outstanding.
Great video! Do you know if building coasters in career mode still works the same or can you first design a full coaster before spending money? It really bothered me that I could lose money just from accidentally choosing the wrong coaster track type or something like that.
Replace days for real dates. That would be more realistic

Unless you can build an indoor park...
My main problem is how theyre missing certain themes from the first game. Like people say that others would complain about them keeping the old themes and say "theres nothing new!!". Thats wrong why not give us the old themes and add the new ones on top so the consumer who is paying almost 70 dollars and will pay even more just based on the sheer amount of dlcs doesnt feel jibbed.
This and the staff schedule are just as important as transfer/switch/drop tracks for me 😂
Would love to see actual open and closed times where at a certain time your park closes at 10pm for example and then your guests leave the park and then re opens again at let's say 10am so your park is shut for 12 hours and your losing money due to maintenence etc but also when the guests leave your staff also leave your park so your park becomes a ghost park apart from the likes of a few skeleton crew of mechanics and security guards keeping the park safe
Ok I know I am going super realistic here but if they want to evolve the game from the first then this would be nice
Also would Love to be able to set open and closing times for seasons
So let's say the park opens at certain times during the winter months for let's say 2 days on the weekend as some parks do here in the uk during the winter
But then opens again fully from let's say March until November but then shuts again for January and opens certain times in February
I know that sounds hyper realistic and probably won't happen in planco 2 but honestly if you could do that
Well I would be very happy and could have fun with that
Also being able to set opening hours for rides and attractions on the season based so all slides and pools shut during the winter time and open again intime for summer and then certain rides shut for maintenence periods
I know hyper realistic but we see this in real life so why can't us thrmepark nerds just havw this please pass this to frontier rudi
This is the best news yet! I am pretty excited.
I rly like the new way time moves. It's way more realistic. It would be way more cool tho if parks actually closed and we could add trains to coasters thru switch tracks to add capacity.
But when will they release the water coaster? You know, like Krakatau at Volcano Bay
Probably in a dlc at this point..
Uma coisa que seria legal para os dias de inverno, é aquelas piscinas termais em dias de inverno. I wish this game had VR support would love to build in VR and ride rides
the next 6 weeks are going to be painful D:
Didn’t they used to sell umbrellas in RCT3? Could be implemented
umbrellas are confirmed already haha :)
Do you know if the Thememaker's Toolkit will be available with Planet Coaster 2? That would be fantastic, but I suspect the developers will prioritize selling DLCs first.
Real Time Simulation? How much time do you think we have to play this game? 😮
I really hope on console we are able to have more then just 4000 guests

Is it possible to make a square section of pool at the end of a slide where the guest cant enter and swim in it, it’s just used as an exit for when the slide is finished
I LOVE that people will leave the park!!!! "I" want to roleplay in sanbox that there is a large fee at the entrance only, and guests don't have to pay for individual rides. And see how much money I can make that way. I hated that people would stay in your park for DAYS in the first game.
This is actually confirmed as part of PC2. You can set entrance prices and rides are free
IS THERE A PEEP CREATOR OR GUEST CREATOR LIKE RCT3?
Very unpopular, but I don’t really like this. I much prefer faster time because I wanna be able to have a day night cycle without being on for like 6 hours.
This will seem random, but I think it would be funny if you did the TF2 Medic voice in an intro.
Okay? Haha
I didn't do that calculation yet haha. But well spotted! I don't think 3x is linear Tho. So 3rd speed option may even be 6x
I asume they made seasons and time like in Farming Simulator 22
Haven't played, is it good?
@@RudiRennkamel Really good, i think you'll like it. But i recommend waiting for fs25 or for the Germans ls25. It comes out a week after planco2.
In fs you can set it yourself.
Most people do like 1 day = 1 month
You also have the option to do 3 days = 1 month or even more.
And you can also set the time of day how you want. Like 0.5 or 1 (1 means 1 real like min = 1min in game)
Up to 360 or something to skip the day faster.
ew gross! that return to browser button was just SO big in the very beginning of the video xD I neeeeed that to be changed in the final PC build!!!!!
Yes please
😛😛
Honestly a lot of this sounds like an insane amount of micromanaging. It's fair if it's there, but people who just want a casual gaming experience should have a choice to do that.
For the algorithm
