Thanks Philip for demonstrating this new feature. Seems you were first to show it off on UA-cam. I've been dreaming about a prompt-to-vector AI app and am not surprised Adobe has figured this out. I agree with you that the design aesthetics are not there yet... feels very "clip art" to me compared to Midjourney. However, I am going to get familiar with the AI in Illustrator now so that I have a good handle on it when future releases come out. I suspect this will be a game changer in a matter of months.

When I follow these instructions I get nothing but one black box after another with nothing in them besides just black. The process is also very slow. Trying to generate more versions of the default prompts results in a black box too.
REMEMBER, ANYTHING IN ADOBE AI BETA CANNOT BE USED COMMERCIALLY. Let's keep the playing field level for people following the rules. All AI Beta tools (including the new Ver 2 of Firefly) is only for personal use. It's in the terms. I've expressed to Adobe many times that this restriction is hobbling professional users that follow the agreement terms, and we fall behind while tutorials like this help users outsell us on POD with designs that are cutting edge and they were not supposed to use.
This is true about all other AI beta tools, but this license is the exception, per their page about this feature, "Illustrator users can access Text to Vector Graphic (beta) in the app as part of their license, and it's designed to be safe for commercial use." This is confusing as their Firefly terms do/did state that ALL AI features in beta are always for non-commercial & personal use. So, confusing, but ultimately good news!
Looks like they also updated the terms for this change, which had to be recently, because I think I read them last week. "if Adobe designates in the product or elsewhere that a beta version of a generative AI feature cannot be used commercially, then the generated outputs from that beta feature are for personal use only and cannot be used commercially." So, it looks like the default is now that it's ok, and they will specify if it's not.
How fast people forgot that these "cool" new features from Adobe are based on the creative work of many many artists who invented and improved those styles for years, and now their work is used in exchange for mere pennies without giving the authors any decent choice. So, each time when you generate smth like that remember that it costs thousands of authors their income.

We can only destroy ourselves but with God all things are possible. God knows us better because He is our Creater and He knows our beginning and our end. Our prove text is taken from the book of John 5:31-44, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, Daniel 7-9, Revelation 13-15, Matthew 24-25 and Luke 21. Let us watch and pray... Does it have a limit on how many you can generate like some other programs?
I can't find text to vector in AI beta. The option is not available for me and I have a business Adobe CC version.
