- Riding my Tenere 700 solo on the North East Backcountry Discovery Route from September 2022.
Day 1 wanders along the west branch of the Delaware River before going into the Catskills.
I spend a lot of time in the Catskills, but always on street bikes and not on dual sports/Adventure bikes. All that's changed now with the purchase of a KLR 650. I'm looking forward to trying this trail out. Thank you for showing us just how cool it is!
Enjoy! My first bike was a KLR and I put 87k miles on it. There are so many great gravel roads in the Catskills!
Nice vid! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
325 mikes is a serious day in the saddle, especially hitting when on dirt and gravel. Well done.
Yeah, 200 a day is plenty on dirt, but I took some faster roads up to the start of the route.
You sure have some great video equipment. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Thanks Geoff :)
Good Ride & Recording, freeze dry foods will have you running to the Outhouse in a rush...lol.
😂 I can’t say I’ve had that problem with freeze dried foods.
Really nice video
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Looks like a fun ride! Great commentary
Thank you! It is a fun route. Kudos to @RideBDR for putting together so many great roads/trails!
Awesome video! I really liked the side view of you riding from the 360 cam. How long do you think it took you to ride the first section of the BDR? Also did you make quite a few stops or mostly ride all the way through?
Thank you! I was skeptical of the whole 360 camera thing at first, but you can get really cool vantage points, and the editing software for it is pretty intuitive. My GPS says that it took me 5:23 to do the first section (Hancock to Andes) and I was stopped for 1:29 of that. I didn't really stop much except for lunch at the Rainbow Lodge and little snack stops.
Great video! What gps do you use ? Thanks
It’s a Garmin Montana 600 and it’s been good for 6+ years, but it the satellite signal is getting intermittent now so I need to figure out its replacement.
I have a montana 650 cant seem to update i also will be looking for replacement thanks for reply
