Hi Mama Bear, thanks for your question. I must admit that on a personal level violence against animals is a no no for us. I believe there are some great animal experts on UA-cam that will be able to answer this question better that we can. Have a search for Cesar ( the dog whisper) and Jackson Galaxy. If i was personally attacked by a dog, I would just hold the cane out before to give them something to bite on while dialing the emergency services for help and advice. Hope this helps.
