  • Magnus Midtbø is one of the biggest names in climbing right now; he's staked up over 2 million UA-cam subscribers, runs a gym empire, and launched his own clothing brand Rungne. But before all that, Magnus was a pro climber, spending over 15 years battling it out at the highest level of comp climbing. This is the full rundown of Magnus' competition career.

    FUN FACT: Magnus was part of the team that first began bolting Flatanger Cave, now home to 2 out of the 3 hardest routes in the world (Silence & B.I.G.)
    Also, if you've not done it already, make sure to check out Magnus' channel its pretty epic: www.youtube.com/@magmidt

      He also startes bolting Nordic Marathon, which was the line that goes from inside the cave to the top. This is being finished by Seb Bouin, and will be at least 9c. There are also possible variations using this line that could be guaranteed 9c+ and possibly 10a.

    I’m curious, what is the « rigorous dieting » that he was tired of ? Surely with the amount of calories spent on training and performing, a decent amount of fuel is necessary

    • @Finnspin_unicycles
      @Finnspin_unicycles Місяць тому +2

      With their training volume elite climbers probably would have a hard time to eat enough to get fat, but in a sport where dropping a kilo of body fat seems to be an advantage, they still watch their food intake closely. That is still rigourous dieting, even though they may eat a lot more than someone who just sits on the couch.
