If a payment is successful, payment gateways communicate the information to systeme.io, the sale appears as a transaction and the automation is triggered/access to resources is granted. Usually, the confirmation is instant, but in rare exceptions (e.g. GoCardless), it might take longer. In these cases, automation is triggered as if it's a confirmed payment and access to resources is later retracted if the payment doesn't go through. If a payment fails, customers will immediately see an error and the payment won't be confirmed. The 'product access retraction' works in this way if the product you are selling is a course, course bundle, or community access and you've set it up as I show in the first part of this video. However, if you are sending an email with an access link to an ebook, audio file or software product, then once the email is sent it can't be retracted. If you are concerned about that, then alternatively, you could consider housing your ebook/audio file/software product inside a password protected members area in Systeme.io, then in this way you will essentially be giving access to a "course", in which case you can follow the first order bump method I show in this video and then systeme.io will give course access to this area upon purchase. Having said that, in most cases the payment is confirmed instantly by the payment gateway, then the workflow is triggered so it shouldn't be a big issue. I recommend you do a test run of your funnel before you go live. You can set the pricing to $1 to make your purchase and then test that everything works how you want it to. Hope that helps!
