It's very scary to have Nocturnal Seizures. Because of SUDEP. Glad you don't have and need epilepsy meds!!! Have you been tested for Sleep apnea... anyone can have this...and don't have to have to have the breathing issues or snoring...and can mimic nocturnal seizures. The Cyst on your Vagus Nerve = FND symptoms makes so much sense. They attach the wires for VNS on the Vagus Nerves. AND have you tried EMDR??? You're a smart little cookie. Hope you get a medical degree with all your experience and research... chickadee!!!

@@LivinLifewithFND I’m in the process of getting my pharmacy degree (pharmD ) and want to go Iinto Fnd research for pharmacy! I also work as the research coordinator for Fnd hope and as a research assistant at a neuropharmacllogy lab (I give ketamine to rats and then look at their MRIs before and after -pretty cool stuff).
I have been tested for sleep apnea actually -I had it as a kid and required surgery because my tonsils were blocking my airway, but was retested a couple years ago and came back all in the clear!
I am doing emdr right now as primary psychological treatment and it has been so helpful -much more than the more research backed ones like CBT. Making progress one day at a time!

Do you think transitioning between phases of sleep could trigger FND seizures?

@@cathycupcakes maybe! Nocturnal seizures aren’t well understood in Fnd. We need more research!!!
