      @@grrrrbabyverygrrr8165 For one, the guy had a history of edgy jokes in a similar vein. Definitely concerning, but you'd call their parents before you'd call the police. For two, they had basically zero information on the guy. You're calling the police to what? Report a guy you only know through discord? Cool. Police are going to ask for details, which you don't have without some sleuthing. Police don't have a magical database that can find anyone. How stupid are you?
      And for third, nobody knew until the moment he did it, and even then, there are people who claim to have done messed up crap on the internet all the time. It's not that we should doubt every psycho with an internet connection, but let's not go out of our way to call the cops every time someone posts something concerning.

    i actually did the same thing, lying to my therapist and mom about going to uni, skipping mostly. though at one point I just couldn't take the lie anymore and confessed. were they angry? yeah, but i felt so much better afterwards, and it helped me get a stronger medication dosage for adhd.

      This happened to me too. I completely lied about still participating in uni even though during the pandemic, it was the worst of my life. Lying about it suffocated me the most to a point i went absolutely silent, cutting my self off from the outside world for 3 years. Not until end of 2022 things came clean, and yeah, it was awful but it felt so much better to have it out there and admit you're so tired of it all. Never had help unfortunately because its not available here, poverty and all but there's always answers when you stay strong enough. (

      There are approximately 540 wanted criminals in Japan as of the end of September 2023. So I think it's a little suspicious that there were 7,100 wanted criminals across Japan in 1975. The number of wanted criminals at 7,100 is more than 10 times the current number. The article in the magazine ``omoshiro-hanvun'' was transcribed from the commercial that the editor saw, so I think there was probably some kind of typo or mishearing.

This year we had at least 10 people doing this (number might be higher, I am just recalling the one I remember from the news).

      I feel like it shows there’s a much bigger issue there other than kids just lying or being cowardly. I feel like those people are out under immense pressure by their parents or communities, which is why they do what they do. Menhaz just went the other way. His actions are horrible, absolutely, and I also think his sister would have been on his side, but I do feel like he felt trapped too, to the point where he couldn’t see a different outcome. And he didn’t kill himself i stead because he said he didn’t want his parents to live with the shame of having such a failure as a son. That is also something that’s been instilled in him by his parents and or community. It’s such a complex situation imo.

      I don’t know the english term for it as I learned about it from a Danish psychologist who specialises in crime. Essentially some people under extreme stress (lying about going to uni) temporarily lose the ability to clearly consider the consequences to their actions. This results in them coming up with extreme short-term solutions (sometimes suicide or murder).
      Now I can’t say if that’s the case for anything mentioned here, so don’t take this as being the case with anything mentioned in the video.

      It really is disturbing to contemplate 😮 that you are freaked out by the thought of killing someone you hate shows you have empathy. It’s a healthy, natural human response to feel repulsed, stressed, overwhelmed by anxiety and terror by the thought of actually ending a person’s life. It really bothers me when people think this is a sign of weakness 😒 I do wonder if there’s possibly a situation where I would kill someone e.g if I caught a predator attempting to kill a member of my family then I’d have to step in and do something drastic. That action could result in said person ending up dead. It’s crazy to think about. Perhaps I may sound a little contrary but I’m trying to say that there are grey areas when it comes to killing another human being. That’s a really extreme scenario though and I genuinely hope it’s a set of circumstances I never get caught up in! Ok… that was a bit heavy, I think I’ll need to go watch some cute dog videos or watch something funny

I know Japan has some serious discrimination issues regarding weight, living in a country with such a strict standard is already hard to deal with on its own, but having your own partner mock and bully you when your trying to better yourself just takes the motivation right outta you.
    Regardless of her weight, she shouldn't have gone through such a sadistic torment. The first story was very similar to a story about this Asian girl named Jennifer Pan from Canada. Her parents were "Tiger Parents" and had very high expectations. Her dad was very strict. She lied about going to college but instead skipped classes to be with her BF. She then planned a hit on her parents... Although I'm not excusing the disgusting and disturbing behaviors of these killers, the tiger parenting technique does need to end as it badly affects mental health.

    • @LatinoLover
      @LatinoLover 8 місяців тому +7

      I don’t condone Jennifer’s actions in any way, but I also can’t bring myself to feel bad for her parents. I think they sealed their own fates with how horribly they treated their daughter

    • @americanfreedomworldpeace
      @americanfreedomworldpeace 8 місяців тому +9

      @@LatinoLover they didn't treat her like absolute trash nor were they evil, they were just strict parents who wanted her to succeed (particularly her father, her mother apparently wasn't really strict like the father but she was killed regardless). Keep in mind she also had a BROTHER and he didn't end up as an evil killer (the incident ruined his life and he now has depression). A LOT people had strict parents or guardians growing up, they didn't end up murderous killers. Some people are just sociopathic and deranged, can't put the blame on others. In some cases, such as the case with Gypsy Rose Blanchard, I don't feel bad for Gypsy's mother at all since her mother was certainly evil (had her daughter's teeth removed and abused her basically). But Jennifer Pan's parents were not on that same level and not evil. Strict parenting does not mean evil parents. "Tiger parenting" is indeed a cultural problem among Asian parents (which could include Indian parents) but there is a reason why Asians tend to succeed and surpass others academically (Asians are now being rejected from Harvard University since they've meet their "quota" of Asians and affirmative action, so being a smart Asian is not good enough anymore) though it sometimes comes at a cost (mental health especially) and smart Asians is typically a part of the "model minority" stereotype as not all Asians are smart. Thankful, the tiger parenting culture is dying out as it mostly only applies to 1st generation Asians as the 2nd and 3rd generations are more culturally Western/American than they Asian.

    If feel like the most ethical way to go about the Mariko lead is for someone in the search community to be selected to try and contact her to ask/confirm a few things, namely:
    1. To confirm if it actually is her
    2. Ask her if she is alright with the community continuing the search(because again, this whole search could possibly make her relive some terrible trauma and honestly I think we can all agree that the original image is not worth forcing someone to relive bad memories if that’s what it takes to obtain it).
    And, finally
    3. If she is okay with the search continuing, does she have any information about the original image or even has a copy of it/knows someone that does.
    I emphasize the importance of the community selecting someone to be the one to try and successfully contact her because of the fact that the potential origins of image might come with some trauma she went through and how if we are to contact her it shouldn’t be hundreds or even thousands of people spamming her asking her about something that very well could trigger her trauma so it would be best if one person is selected to be the representative of the community to go and make contact with her.
    In if the off chance that the person selected goes radio silent(which does happen sometimes during searches) there should be a pre determined time limit on how long between the selected announces they’re sending the message to Mariko and them going radio silent so that way we have someone else lined up to try again(again, I wanna emphasize that the community SHOULD NOT spam her asking about the image, it could very well overwhelm her and if we have any chance of getting any kind of answers or closure to the mystery then we gotta make sure we go about this as respectfully as possible, she deserves that after what she went through and it’s the least we can do) until we get a confirmed response from her and whether were told to stop searching or given the okay +any additional information.

    I can't believe how horrible Mariko was treated, by someone who claimed to love her. He was a psycho who just wanted to humiliate poor Mariko in the most public way possible, and wanted to use her humiliation as a way to make money. When he came forward and said that it was a "self portrait" while wearing a latex mask, he would've known that people were going to start digging into the picture. And he knew that once the truth behind the picture came out, he'd be a VERY unpopular person ( to put it mildly). And I've read in one of the comments that she doesn't deserve sympathy or even the money, because "everyone is acting like he's some kind of psychopath or something"! How does anyone know how badly this asshole treated her behind closed doors, of he was prepared to do this on-line? And we certainly don't know how badly this affected Mariko - whether she's ok now, or in therapy, on medication or if she's even "still around". ( I think you get my meaning of that). I was horrifically bullied when I was in school, to the point that I ended up in a psych hospital from a mental breakdown and an attempt to finish myself. This happened when I was about 15. I am still on medication for depression and a few other things as a result of the bullying. And I'm now 51, so it can affect you for the rest of your life.
    Sorry for the rant. I just really hope that Mariko is doing well, living her best life.
    And, as for her ex, I hope his life is as miserable and unfulfilled and lonely as he made her feel - multiplied by a shit-load!!

    Some people could narrate something as painstaking as paint peeling and I'd watch passionately. Lazy Masquerade is one of those people.

    Failing at school and trying to keep the lie is one of the worst things you can do and I say it from experience. I'm no school prodigy and have failed many times, but eventually I managed to finish it; better late than never and certainly better be honest about it, forget about how upset your parents will be, the lie will eat on you and at best it'll make you feel absolutely awful, at worse, well... We get tragedies like Menhaz.

    it really baffled me that the police were only called right before the father was killed in the first story. they knew he was in toronto/around the toronto area. they should have called toronto police and provided them with the loose IP and pictures he sent, with their resources they would have traced it hopefully before the sister and dad were killed. i understand how horrifying it must have been for those people though, i just really think that some internet crimestoppers get too caught up in trying to fix it themselves than to alert the authorities

    People never being able to see some really memorable commercials or even TV-shows from their youth because it's been lost to time is incredibly sad to me.
    Lost media is really depressing to me even though much of it from my own youth in the 90s has been preserved and can often be found if you look hard enough, but some things are simply gone and forgotten or incredibly hard to find or get your hands on.
    Watching old commercials and stuff from your childhood is sad all on its own but them not even existing anymore is even sadder.

    The feeling of seeing an image of a person who was once alive and now is dead is just eerie...it makes my stomach sick to the point i realize that.... *Their gone* there not coming back.After watching this i want to cherish my life to the fullest making sure to be cautious of anything that seems suspicious because you don't know when someone will turn their back against you and suddenly plan for 3 years to kill you and your family....

      The Aboriginal Australians have a taboo against images of people who have died. There's beliefs and cultural practices to do with it, I'm not entirely sure and could be slightly off here, but I wonder if aside from that it has something to do with that "eerie feeling" you mention.
