    My question is I wanna know how does an examiner talk or give orders at the test??
    Will they give clear and understandable orders?? How would they talk to me like, especially when taking skill test??
    I think I’ve nailed everything but I’m just worried about how the conversation is worded or how orders are given.

    • @CDLYeah
      @CDLYeah 2 місяці тому +1

      Great question! Wanting to know all the details is a great way to approach the test 🙌🏼 The examiner will give clear and concise detailed requirements for all THREE of the CDL exam sections. If you have any questions ask them, they want you to succeed and there are no dumb questions, and they've heard it all 😅

      @@CDLYeah Thank you! I so sincerely appreciate your answer.
      My test is on Aug.12th. Everyday I wake up in the morning, I keep my eyes closed and I don’t get up. I start going through the truck from manual air brake to in-cab pre-trip to tug test to outside pre-trip, from the hood to tractor throughout the rear door of the trailer, by using the words in the pre-trip book.
      I still have 2 weeks to prepare but I already feel bored in a way that I probably can do the whole pre-trip inspection backward.
      Alley dock could be easy or confusing but most likely they’ll test me parallel parking. Road test won’t be 100% perfect but won’t have a major problem.
      Anyway, thanks again for your help! 🙏

    Every time i’m doing my reverse offset backing, i’m always doing a double offset until I get my trailer set! After it is, and I get that rear of the trailer on the line, i’m going more towards my blind side and get very close to hitting that passenger side wall! Any tips would help and thank you!
    Left/Right
    Left/Right
    straight back to the corner on the line
    Right/Left
    (turn wheel all the way each left/right turn)

    What is a safe gear to be in while making that left turn so you don’t impede traffic and or stall out ?

    • @CDLYeah
      @CDLYeah Рік тому

      Great question ! The most common manual currently is a 12 speed with a splitter. In that, it’s best to get into 6th before the turn and to stay in 6th through the turn so that you can keep both hands on the wheel through the turn. Really good question. Are you on a 12 speed with a splitter or a different type of transmission ? 🤔

    • @jamesflynn10
      @jamesflynn10 10 місяців тому

      For me it's an Eaton Fuller 10 speed, 5th seems to be the best gear for a tighter turn in the city.

    so i took my cdl test last week and passed pre-trip, passed backing with an offset and an alley big yaaayyy but got very nervous because of the turns and bumped a curb so failed driving. if i turn left onto a two lane road from a single turning lane do i turn into the farthest lane and then back into the left lane to finish// or do i turn into the farthest lane and stay in the right lane since we are going to end up in that lane eventually anyways. I retest Wednesday a throughout the whole class i always drove perfectly fine but im a little nervous

    • @CDLYeah
      @CDLYeah Рік тому +2

      I totally understand feeling nervous. It sounds like you’ve got a lot of driving done, so stay confident ✊🏻 that’s a big part. When in that turn stay wide and land in the right lane, anyone turning right from the lane across from you will have a yield to you so you can use both lanes as long as you have your 10 second window 🙌🏼 lmk how Wednesday goes, you got this 😎

    • @CDLYeah

    You say that in a right turn with two right turn lanes you should be in left most right turn lane to complete your turn. i understand this to not hit the curb with your trailer but arnt you going to hit all the cars that are making their right turn in the right most right turn lane?

    • @CDLYeah
      @CDLYeah Рік тому

      Really great question 🙌🏼 Every turn has different circumstances obviously, our goal is the make certain not to “off track” into anything. By timing the turn, watching your convex mirror closely for your trailer’s lateral movement and staying wide through your turn you should be able to navigate all obstacles present. Some double turn lanes have off tracking space built in, which can be recognized by diagonally painted lines, in which case staying in the right lane is best. Monitor and adjust as you approach, stay alert for the signage/circumstances and don’t take anything for granted 👍🏻 you got this, really great question 🙏🏻

    • @CDLYeah
      @CDLYeah Рік тому

      Great question, every situation is unique, best to ask your instructor for the best practices for that specific situation. I can tell you this, staying wide with an ample window of time and space is always a smart choice.

    Quick question, do I have to make a quick stop and check both sides if I see a rail road crossing ahead? Just wondering because in the permit test it says that you can get your license suspended for at least 1 year if you don’t stop before a R/R Crossing to check. Also I’ve seen some busses stop before to check as well.

    • @CDLYeah
      @CDLYeah Рік тому +2

      Great question. Certain vehicles need to stop. Hazmat, School bus, flammable placard, etc… some choose to. On your CDL test you need to look both ways for a train, listen for a train and if you don’t see/hear anything and the lights are not flashing you can proceed at the speed of traffic, you do not need to stop, you can do all that while continuing with the flow of traffic. 👍🏻
