Are you not familiar with Disturbed's cover of "Sound of Silence?" If not, please react to the video, which is visually stunning. David Draiman's glorious vocals and technique are on full display in a way that's atypical to them, to this sound. He was trained as a cantor, as was his brother, who chose the opera route, if that tells you anything about his musical background. But OMG ... Disturbed are FABULOUS musicians. Their videos are always 🔥, too. The lyrics are usually very meaningful when you dig into them. If you have their whole catalog that is unfamiliar to you, boy are you at the top of a deep rabbit hole!

Yes, DISTURBED is by far my favorite band of today's music. I grew up in 60's, 70's & graduated in '82, so I am familiar with much Rock & much is to be said about the classics. Nothing can ever replace some of the talent and creativity of that time.. But for the 90's and 2000's, DISTURBED is IT.. It's my opinion, I know, but many others feel it too! Everyone speaks of their covers & yes, much to be said about them - especially Sound of Silence. But I always go for originals because it comes from THEIR hearts.. That said, One of their own that always grabs my heart and puts tears in my eyes is 'Uninvited Guest'. Why that song is overlooked by many, I have no clue except that it never went mainstream air. What a bummer that more haven't been exposed to it, but please react. Garenteed you will love it
    Thanx in advance 🎼🎶🤘🥀

OH MY STARS!!! I had only heard their cover of Sound of Silence and I loved it. I am primarily a country fan but your channel and others are the reason why I am trying to explore different genres. I love social commentary songs which is why I tend to listen to more of the country music side of story telling but this was awesome! Thank you for sharing and the graphics emphasized the message!!!

other songs with great social commentary; MIA by Avenged Sevenfold (modern metal band) about a soldier "Missing in Action" not because he was killed in battle but because of all the awful stuff hes seen and done and now he doenst feel like he fits in. Killer guitar work as well. "Handlebars" by Flowbots (Rap, but not traditional, kinda hard to explain) the music video is great, about how some people can gain significant power and oppress others, gets very Orwellian

This is a interesting band. Metal, yes; but so much more. These guys are brave and very good. Dark. Raw with an attitude and point of view. Great introduction.
Now check out some of their covers. They do Genesis and updates 'Land of Confusion'. Somewhat different take, edgier. But still keeps the hint of hope. Maybe they should cover Simon & Garfunkel? What do you think?

The amount of talent in Disturbed is incredible. As more people find this group their popularity grows. My daughter & son-in-law introduced me to Disturbed in 2016 with The Sound of Silence. The emotions poured out and I was hooked. I'm 70 years old and I love this group. Their music gets better and better.

Hi SalvoG I came across your channel a few months ago, and you have quickly become one of my favorite channels to go to for music reactions. You seem like a great guy, as well as a kind and thoughtful person, and I really appreciate that about you, as well as how much you interact and connect with your viewers. You have some of the most genuine reactions to music that I have seen, and I really appreciate you allowing yourself to be vulnerable enough to show your emotions while reacting.
For me that is an important component for listening to any genre of music. It makes your reactions more impactful, and I feel like I'm experiencing the music along with you. I also want to commend you on being so willing to be open-minded about different genres of music. There is so much music to explore, and I'm really looking forward to what you react to in the future.
I'm also really glad that you have decided to start your journey down the rabbit hole of Disturbed's music. They became one of my favorite bands in college, and I have listened to them ever since. "The Vengeful One" was a great place to start since it gives you an idea of what they typically sound like. I think you would also like their cover of the song "Land of Confusion" (Genesis performed the original). "Indestructible" is another powerful song by them as well. As others have already mentioned, you should definitely react to their cover of the song "The Sound of Silence."
I would highly recommend "The Light," "A Reason to Fight," as well as "Hold On to Memories." "Hold On to Memories" has a special place in my heart, as well as a powerful message behind it. Whenever possible I would recommend reacting to their official music videos, since they always have powerful imagery to go along with the song. I apologize for the wall of text, but I really wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your channel, and offer some suggestions for you to check out too. Enjoy the ride!

Didn’t know about that Genesis cover. That ought to be interesting.
Two covers YOU might enjoy if you haven’t already heard them are:Nine Inch Nails, Blue on Black and Tools cover of Zeppelins No Quarter.

@@helenespaulding7562 I actually haven't heard of either of those, so thank you for the suggestions 🙂 I did a quick search for Nine Inch Nails Blue on Black, and the only results that kept coming up were for Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and a cover that I've already heard from Five Finger Death Punch featuring Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Brantley Gilbert which I really enjoyed. So I'm not sure if I'm searching for it incorrectly, or I'm searching for the wrong song. Let me know and I'll try looking for them again.

@@sonic_euphoria oops…senior moment. 🙄😳. I meant Five Finger Death Punch! Sorry to have you looking for something that didn’t exist. I’m glad you did enjoy that cover, bd side it means you would have liked my suggestion if you hadn’t heard it 😁. Have you heard the Tool one yet? Let me know if you like it. I adore Zep, but I also like Tool, do win-win for me

    • @sonic_euphoria
      @sonic_euphoria Рік тому +1

@helenespaulding7562 That's ok it happens, and as soon as I realized I wasn't finding it I sent you the message 🙂 I just finished listening to the original Led Zeppelin "No Quarter," and then Tool's cover of it. I want to thank you again for the suggestion. It allowed me the opportunity to have a new experience with two bands that I don't listen to regularly (but have been gaining a new appreciation for through this channel), and I am grateful to you for that.
I found Led Zeppelin's artistry, creativity, and musicianship to be great in that song. The vocals are beautiful, as well as somewhat haunting and ethereal at the same time, and the guitar riff is so rhythmic and catchy.
I liked what Tool brought to their version of the song too. They maintained what made the original so good, and brought their unique rock sound to it too. To be honest it's kind of difficult to decide which one I like more (I would probably lean a little more towards Tool), but I'd say that's a good problem to have lol
If you enjoy Five Finger Death Punch, I would recommend you check out the band No Resolve. I recently found them, and they do some amazing covers. My two favorites so far are both Adele songs, "Easy On Me" and "Set Fire to the Rain." I almost think their cover of "Easy On Me" is better than Adele's, and that's saying a lot, considering how powerful Adele's voice can be. They also have a great cover of a song from the movie Moana. I'd be interested to hear what you think about those.
Another rock band I've come to appreciate recently is Godsmack. Two of my favorite songs of theirs are "Under Your Scars" and "Unforgettable." If you listen to those, I'd be interested to know what you think 🙂
If you have any other suggestions let me know. I'm always on the lookout for new music to discover and enjoy 😀

@@sonic_euphoria don’t know what you like genre wise, but since you enjoyed both Zep and Tool and FFDP, I assume you like hard rock and at least some metal? So, one song g I recently was introduced to is Sin After Sin by Alter Bridge. I played it over and over again for days. I ADORE, crunchy, grinding deep bass, and that song has it in spades. If you like blues……you will love The Bluest Blues by Alvin Lee…with George Harrison on slide. Gorgeous. Dont want to overwhelm you, but i AM a Zep freak, so if you want any suggestions on them, I’m available. Also, if you haven’t heard The Pot by Tool, you must. And let me know what you think on those. I will check out your suggestions. I love exchanging music!
