I wonder if they would have more success in defensive tactics by using the wagon wheel or flying scissors. If they had used this tactic they would have been defended from both sides and to the rear.
@@Lwfc11 True, but i could have given them a fighting chance. I presume they did fly in a three wing formation which also gave the spitfires an disadvantage.

Maybe but the lack of armament and speed probably made its fate no matter what
