Not sure about the osight. However, the 10 day optics program is AMAZING. It took them 4 days to cut my slide and install the 507c. And I had it back in hand in 6 days. Very fast, very well done. Optic was even zeroed for me. Highly recommend!
An integrated rechargeable battery just means that the when maximum charge that the battery can hold inevitably declines over the course of one or two years, you will not be able to easily swap it out for a fresh one. Integrated rechargeable batteries are not a positive feature. They're a negative one. You can get rechargeable batteries on sights that use replaceable batteries too. The difference is that you'll be able to choose the brand and quality of the battery inside the sight, and will be able to swap it out with a fresh one when it wears out. Even for a battery that isn't worn out, if it runs out, you can swap a new one in, pop the old one in a charger, and be ready to run and gun. With this sight, the optic is out of commission while charging. And keeping the wirless charger on it to keep the charge topped at 100% will speed up deterioration of the battery.
Exactly. Now if someone made not just rechargeable batteries but the ability to swap them out conventionally in an optic for common battery options there might be an actual use case there. Say a 50k life rechargeable battery that you can just swap out for all the big brands. I'd buy that. I already use rechargeable surefire batteries for my accessories so why not for an optic?
Hey, that’s my Osight! Kinda proud seeing it used in the video. For the naysayers, I’ve been blasting away with this thing since it came in, no zero shift or issues. For $200 ain’t too shabby with the features it has.
For $200 it should sleep with me AND make breakfast. Its a cheap potted circuit board, a couple springs, a battery and emitter. Vibration doesn't harm solid state components, hence the name SOLID state. No moving parts to damage. If you're proud of over paying for something, well, good on you. enjoy. IMO, Olight is the worst of the major light makers, their interfaces stink as does their basic engineering.
Does the optic have inch per pound torque confirmation details or is that really down to the plate? I’ve got a Glock 17 gen 5 and just purchased a mounting plate adapter and the red dot version of this including the handy charging cover. Mounting is new to me so I’m not clear but I would think the mounting plate should include the inch per pound torque requirements. Or maybe both the plate and red dot have inch per pound torque instructions? Apologies for my ignorance! I do have a torque wrench and a mini multi function hammer and compatible disassembly tools for glocks so I’m hopeful I should be OK. My biggest concern is the mounting plate adapter which I purchased at short notice. Any advice gratefully received.
I have one just because i figured…why not🤷🏾♂️. Got it for the presale price of 150 i think and so far so good. Fully charged the garage and I have the setting on shake to wake, its been about 2 weeks and haven’t needed to throw it in the ol garage charge. Is it a top of the line….no, i have some of those. I have some cheap ones. This is for if you have a lot of guns and you wanna try some new tech at the range, pull the trigger 😏. Time will tell tho. No I dont drop my shit, or throw rocks at it, or dunk it under water…but with a life time warranty I hope it all works out. Soooo yeah. Happy pew pew peoples✌🏾
That’s what i was thinking this is good to take to the range and have fun, no need to have expensive stuff on everything, plus is a nice feature that is rechargeable.
Why is Olight trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist? It's like the solar-powered dots, that spend the majority of their time in a gun safe, or under clothing during concealed carry.
Who in their right mind wants another charger in their life? When I can go a YEAR or more, swap my battery in seconds for a BUCK what is the point in a BIGGER battery? A battery that, undoubtedly, will be obsolete in a couple years relegating you to replacement of the whole unit or cheap low quality after market replacements...if you can even find one. Count me out right this instant. I can walk into any convenience store and get a replacement in seconds for a CR2032 or CR2016. Heck, if I'm that desperate I can take one out of my watch and use it!. Rechargeable batteries are a problem. They take chargers, cables, adapters and more lithium than disposable batteries. They take care. They should always be stored at 80% capacity if you want to prolong their life. If they go completely dead they won't charge any more. then you can throw away a $15 battery instead of a $1 battery. And don't tell me all of you don't have "dead" rechargeable batteries floating around that you're nursing because you don't want to pay for replacements so you put up with a few minutes of use at a time. Look, you know its a trap as its not even a standard size so they KNOW you're locked into their over priced product replacements. Just say NO.
It's a cool concept however they executed poorly...half of them don't hold zero with minimal use. Don't buy it until version 2, and then... still don't buy it. There's far better for the same price or just a bit more that are proven.
@@BWHeitmann yeah... But it doesn't work 😭 sooo...is it really that impressive if it doesn't hold zero? Kind of the 2nd most important thing in a red dot after it actually working and turning on.

Cost?
$200 for the slide milling. Then depends what optic you want. They took $50 off the price of the optic since I did the milling and red dot combo.
Just bought one today for a PSA Dagger I'm hoping to build. Super excited!
Got mine 3 week's ago. Would not stay true. Got up with olight . There sending me a new one then I send mine back. How cool r they.

@@lenzielenski3276 why don’t you design one that does everything you mentioned for $200? You sound pretty knowledgeable.

Olight's reputation for reliable and affordable weapon lights makes me excited to see how this optic performs in the field.

I hope they get it right. There sending me a new one then I send mine back. That's cool 😎
Can this be popped right on a Glock 43x MOS without any altering of the slide?
No. This is designed for double-stack handguns. Not Slimline.
Will this fit on a Glock 19 MOS? Can you charge it with the charger while the sight is mounted on the gun?
did you find out if it fits it?

Ignore I found the answer requires blue locktight and requires each screw torquing to 17 inch pounds.
How many Times can it recharge the Sight ?
Lifetime warranty. Charge it as much as you want.
When the rechargeable battery eventually fails, is it trash?
Lifetime warranty.
@@rem700longunnertrash optic has lifetime warranty? I guess they’re expecting the broke people can only buy this to rarely use this

From what we've seen in the range, yes it does. We have not done any kind of torture testing though.
How long is it warranted?
Life time

Glock 23 gen 5 Red Dot Options video?? Just because the slide is thicker then a 19 gen 5 slide.
I guess it was only a matter of time before we got a rechargeable optic. interesting
