*Great **Generater.Systems** . Our 1st 2500W Champion backed us up with hurricane Ida last August when our whole home generator crapped out after 8 days. Love the dual fuel. Hope to never run gasoline in it.Bought this 2500W to parallel with our other one for the RV.*
thanks for the report
I have two Champion genies! 4900 and this 2500 geny. Both duel fuel and they work the best! I only run propane on mine for the fact that it burns cleaner and no need to treat fuel or worry about fuel deteriorating parts. I have personally had to use my multiple times in the summer time and I’m glad I invested in these.
@@topgunz8165 not sure as I have only used the 4900 for extended periods. But I would comfortable say maybe get 20-24hours out of a 40lb tank? That’s just based on what I’ve experienced with the 4900 and the 2500 is half the size.
I just wanna say that I love watching your content it's always entertaining and informative. I also wanna say that I can tell that you're a genuine and honest human being. Thanks for all of your hard work making these videos.
I bought the Champion dual fuel 4000 after your review a while back and I love it. Thanks for keeping these types of items in the vids.
Always great to have a generator ....Two even better. Have both Sportsman and Champion units. Never had an issue with proper break in procedures and regular maintenence. Excellent items to have in these times.
I was looking at the Predator 2000 inverter, like... 5 hours ago. Then I got this video. Haha! More of this content is good.
I've got two predator 2000s and have enjoyed them. Run them in parallel from time to time for my travel trailer as well.
the predators are legit, I got one and 2 friends have them, including people who use them for RV's etc
you can carry it as one person and its really quiet - very important
I just got one of these - model number (200961), but still dual fuel 2500 watt. Followed all the directions, Runs extremely quiet - *very impressive.* The primary purpose of this generator will be to power a gas furnace, TV's, a few lights, and internet routers - in a 3,800 sq ft. home,. After the *2021Texas February Freezout* I decided never again. We have a large see through nat gas fireplace, so we didn't have to burn the furniture to keep from freezing. But even at that, temp's got into the low 40's inside! and -3F outside. *Ran 8 to 12 hours with NO ELECTRICITY* over 4 days of it, with maybe an hour here and there with power. Today, I did the test after a lot of research. Fortunately that paid off, because this, as probably the majority of portable generators, use a "floating neutral" as opposed to 'bonded neutral'. The startup sequence of most all newer furnaces does not like, nor will it run the furnace on floating neutral nor on 'dirty power' from non inverter generators. Made a plug for one of the outlets by jumpering the neutral and ground wire together. Now, it runs perfectly as a bonded neutral generator. I am literally amazed this small generator ran the gas furnace and it did it in the ECO Mode. It didn't even have to ramp up to get the blower fan running. Ran it through several cycles without a single problem. Will be completing the wiring with a single transfer switch. *Great Shoutout to this little wonder machine!*
Check out one of those Mr Heater vent free gas heaters. You should have a battery operated CO detector anyway for safety but I tested a 30,000 btu unit in 2500 square feet in my basement. It kept the house about 68 degrees with outside temps in the teens.
I just used hydraulic hose to hook it up. I'm sure someone will clutch their code book over that but it's convenient and safe.
Your review has ended my dual fuel mini generator search. Ty
Nice. Thanks for the great review. I’ve had my Honda EU2000i for years and it’s still running strong. Great to see other offerings.
I have that exact generator to supplement my 4000w solar generator. This thing is SUPER quiet and ive load tested it with various items and it is an absolute champ. Great item to have in the kit for these uncertain times.
4000w solar generator? The highest I could find is 2000w.....I will look again.
UA-cams best sales man
I learn something useful from all your gear reviews.
To know Chamption had the balls to send this out to you makes me want to support them.
Did you think he was going to bad mouth free stuff sent to him?
Perfect timing as always Mike
I won one of these in a Christmas drawing at the company i work at. I have wanted a generator for soooooo long. Now i got one!😁👍
I live offgrid & use this model daily. Works great for the price 👍👍
This is awesome! I have been looking for a good generator. Thanks for the video.
DOES IT TAKE GLOCK MAGS?
Lol
Only if coupled with a turbo encabulator. LMAO
Man this would be a perfect Christmas present for me. I have their older standard generator but the natural gas connection is dope.
It's propane, there are differences between the 2.
@@survivalconcerns515 Yes, Propane or Gasoline-powered, however, *Champion stocks the parts for a Natural Gas conversion.
Great product review thanks Mr. Guns!
Very smart to get before winter.
Good review! Glad you pointed out the non ethanol fuel use. A lot of people still make that mistake. I only use propane with mine. I live off the grid and my Champion 2000 is awesome 😎! Must say, gun reviews are more fun! But these are important items too! Thanks Buddy!!😎
Thanks. I Was just researching this size generator last night.
Excellent video... Thx. I just bought the same exact unit and had been looking at vids and reviews the last several days... This is my 3rd Champion generator, my 3500-4375max I sold to my neighbor before I upgraded to a larger unit, Champion 201035 - 8,000W-10,000W dual fuel... that is transfer switch ready and can run larger loads,...I just felt that in case there is a real crisis, long/sustained power outage, you can't expect to run an 8,000-10,000W Watt generator, using 7.7 gallons of fuel every 10 hours, assuming you're willing to spend so much time with NO POWER, to conserve.. I believe you should have something smaller for true crisis (if need be) you never know.. The larger generator is a blessing and a curse if there is a "TRUE" crisis, sustained outages... It becomes prohibitively expensive to gas so often, but $ is not the issue, but availability and access to gas or propane in amounts that consume so quickly running larger gens....Lets say if gas might be in short supply etc.. Even if the unit is dual fuel, which mine is; at a whopping 8,000-10,000w, it is efficient for what it is, but a beast during a crisis... a large size generator can make it harder, and you'll go thru propane too quickly as well.. Hence comes this 2500W unit... Extremely efficient; and inverter.. I decided to get this which will cover basic needs efficiently, in case we can't run our larger Champion Generator constantly..
Run the large one for while, then the 2500W overnight to conserve.
It makes sense, plus I go camping here in Texas and had used my gas-only 2000W Westinghouse inverter, very quiet, but it is from 2013 and it's beyond done... It was good for a while but we ran it to the ground by now. By the way, Champion CustServ, the absolute best; they stand behind their product for 3 yrs, commercial or residential, and beyond that, tech support for life... Always there.
One of the very best CustServ and TechSprt in the power equipment industry in my opinion... Champion all the way.
First of your videos I've seen, excellent down to earth review. Subscribed and look forward to watching more 👍
Much respect for info like this....Thank you!
I just ordered one of this shipped for $500. I have a champion 3500 dual fuel and its been kicking for years.
Super excited to have this for emergencies.
nice
Does it take Glock mags? I'll see if I can swing one of these before next Hurricane Season.

Starting tip: you don't have to go overboard pulling the starting cord hard or fast. Slow pulls work best.
Bought the 4650 for my Flagstaff E-Pro, works like a charm.
Nice review. Very reliable company and generators. I have their original 2000 watt inverter gen sets from 2009. Run the carb dry and you won't have a problem. I've used mine in parallel to run my entire home minus the 240 volt stuff.
I have a Honda EU2200i. Works great! Also got an E-Go that is powered by battery packs to run stuff indoors for short term outages.
Thank you for the information. I'm in need of a generator and this looks like a great "first" option!
Funny, I’ve been watching your vids for a little over a year now, but I never had much interest in other equipment than firearms. We’ve been without power for just over 6 hours. We bought one of these online at home cheapo a few minutes ago but I wanted to see how loud it was. I’ll be checking more of your vids as the day goes, thank you hugely.
You make coffee like I do... "Another couple scoops, why not"
I run two Honda EU 2200s. Can’t beat them.
Champion beats them on price. I got TWO Champions AND a parallel kit for less than the price of ONE Honda generator. Easy decision
@@drdrew3 that’s great.
This was a heck of a cross-branded coffee commercial! 😉☕
You're good. Thank you for this review; planning to buy one for my American stuff before the move home to Fiji. Plus, your great voice is a bonus 🤟🙂👋
Thank you for caring to share big bro!
I got a whole house generator installed two years ago…….best purchase/investment I’ve made in years.
One is none and two is one. I have both a whole house and a small portable Generac . It was a good thing too as the 200 Amp transfer switch on my whole house generator went bad and it took 8 months to get a new one.
Haha, my man! I just got one of these a couple of weeks ago. What are the odds. Not gonna mess around with another TX winter. (Now watch it be 50° all season)
Great video. Thank you!!
Hmmmm, long time subscriber to the channel here. Just bought myself a 4250 Watt dual fuel open frame Champion generator and had been looking on You Tube for some reviews and or tips. Then suddenly Mr GnG is reviewing a dual fuel champion genset...............
Is Mr GnG a holographic Google Bot?. Showing us what we search for?
Please note this is just a joke and I come here for good information on stuff I want to buy, but wow what a coincidence.
I just grabbed a gas on sale for$600 cnd just to add to my prep. A beautiful addition to my gear.
Great video
I know next to nothing about them so this happens to be of interest for me. I live in an apartment so a small generate would be a reassuring item to have around.
God bless all here.
I was stationed at Shaw AFB SC, 78'-79', and experienced an Ice Storm. Brutal. Talk about being frozen in place
I have that one. It's awesome.
The coffee danced along w the music clip. 😆
Great video and new to the channel. I have this model and it is the VERY BEST. you will be so happy if you buy this. We take it camping and use the propane option.
I got the 3400 first and it was a little to big for my Overland Camper but it is RV ready. I just bought this one 2 months ago the size is perfect for my Solar tongue box. I can connect them together and power everything needed in the house. Champion makes a really good product and Duel/Fuel is highly recommended. You will never find a better product for the price.
do you mean 4500? I can't find a 3500 version
😅 Love it when the coffeebrewer where dancing around.
Surprised as shit to see this on your channel. Thanks. I'm buying one of these today. Do more of this stuff, it's gear. Nice plug for Jarod.
Mike I just bought the 2000 watt model in gas only...great generators
Great content.
Based on world events, a black friday sale, and this review I just bought a pair of these.
Good content! Thx!
I’m in the market for a generator so he definitely got my attention
Like the music for the dancing coffee pot.
💃
Very well done, sir! Wish you would've done a quick hook up and start with a 20lb tank.
Great video
I like how they used to make them stackable when you run parallel.
The 2500 watt units are not stackable, only the 2000 watt units are stackable. 🤔
I have two 2500 watt units paralleled with manual switchgear to the house and running on propane from a 500-gallon bulk tank
Thank you.
Late to the game, but I purchased this exact generator today to add to my larger but much louder 4750W Champion
Great review. I want one. Anything to consider in switching back and forth between gas and propane on the same generator?
no, it is a selector
It's good to turn it off by switching to propane to run the gas out of the engine.
I've seen fewer ads in Christmas catalogs...
We have not used it yet just ran it to see the noise level which was fine
You need to do a solar set up next.. thanks for the video
I couldn't find ANY place near me that had ethanol-free gas, which sucks! I did put in stabil fuel stabilizer so that I don't have to always run it dry, but I'd still prefer ethanol free gas like he says in the video.
Try the marinas and boating spots in your area
If you absolutely can't find it, use a stabilizer but you can also drain the tank. They often hold less than a gallon so it's straight forward.
@@Defender_of_men Very far away unfortunately, but I did manage to find a smaller gas station about 20 miles away, so I may just grab several 5 gallon jugs of gas for the winter.
@@Gideon_Judges6 Ya, I use "stabil" in the tank, and so far it's been good. I did find a station that has what I'm looking for, just happens to be like 20 miles away.
@@shojus if you have anyone who rents power equipment or machinery often they have offroad (i.e. tax free) fuels for sale. At least that's what I've found in my area. Same place that will have a skid steer or a log splitter for rent has offroad diesel, offroad gas, kerosene, propane for sale.
Is there a carb screw to FULLY drain the bowl? If I get one I hope to never run gas in it but, as I recall Honda has an option to shut the fuel off and let it continue running until it starves itself of fuel in the line and carb. Great review.
A trend that I've seen recently is ppl having a battery system that runs their house.
When electricity is on it keeps the batteries charged.
When the power goes out ppl will run a generator for an hour or so in the morning and evening to recharge the batteries.
Conserves fuel and cuts down on the amount of noise.
Propane doesn't go bad...yes but there can be contaminates in those 20lb gas grill propane bottles. I plan to use an inline propane filter if i run it on propane.
I like my coffee "Shaken not stirred" too.
Great video !!I just got one and have a question do you have let it run 5 hours before using or can you use it during the 5 hours break in period ? thanks
Can I use the Parallel Link on only one generator for a 30 amp outlet?
A question about fuel consumption - is there a consumption difference between running it on propane vs gas? Thanks!
You should consider a review of the Jackery Solar Generator 1500.
Just got one yesterday (already using it my first day) because my Westinghouse iGen2500 generator pull start rope snapped after 4 years later. I try fixing it but i got to take the entire motor apart because no room to replace it. It's super quiet which is a plus. It's about 10 lb lighter than Westinghouse iGen2500. The only thing it need is a filter when pouring gasoline in.
thanks for the report
You need to say if the inverter is a pure sine wave or a modified sine wave. All generators have an inverter. The inverter converts DC power to AC power. The type of AC power you get is what is important.
Good video
May I ask, Why do you suggest changing the oil after the first 5 hours?
Any update on how the generator is still working for you?
How do you do an oil change on this unit?
Did u break in 5 hours Before plugging in a load?
What’s up from Florida
Would running 2 at the same time be too loud at a campground?
Question. I just bought this unit thanks to your video and the ability for this unit to run propane. Is it normal to hear the sound of propane coming out of tank when it is connected to generator but not running? I checked all connections with soapy water, so I would guess it is being consumed internally, or do I have a faulty unit with a leak?
Um no... your supposed to turn the gas off at the tank when not on use... what your hearing is the gas leaking through the carburetor into the air around you silly
A must for Floridians
Use avgas for long term storage Per Yamaha inverter service manager. Otherwise, only ethanol free gas.
Could you maybe do a two tier (budget wise) emergency home/apartment system? All encompassing or strictly energy related, either I believe would catch a lot of views and Id be interested to hear your insight. Its clown world now and the rules have changed, curious if this changes/factors into the systems.
Nice
Got a question about drop in triggers. I have one that sticks up too high. Rise armament 140SST
It’s the 2 Allen set screws on the inner sides, most don’t know they are there
How is this generator performing since you've used it?
Hey how far away can you put your generator from your tent
Just paid 200 bucks for a brand new at a pawn shop Rochester ny .. great deal
Can you run two of these linked if one is on propane and one on fuel? The first one i got is fuel only and the second i just ordered is duel fuel. Thanks:)
Whatever it's worth a UPS eliminates the power spike threat as long as you have the smoove wave version
This is a pull start. Great for able bodied. Anything similar recommended for someone that can’t pull start? Thanks
They also make this model in auto start for a price increase.
You have to step up to a 3000 watt inverter generator class generator to get electric start. They weigh considerably more, about 100 pounds vs the 40-50 pounds of these small units. And they cost more at $800-$1000 for a Wen, Champion, Predator, or Northern Tool version. The Honda 3000 cost about $2400.
The issue with "construction" type open frame generators is frequency and voltage regulation. They do not produce square waveforms, only cheap inverters do that.
Do I need to ground the 2500 duel fuel?
Are these able to work in rain?
As in are they able to get wet?
Do i have to take out de gas when im not going to use the inverter??
I'm looking at picking up a couple of inverter gensets. One for stationary home use and a portable one like you've shown. I currently have a Duromax that I bought a number of years ago. It works alright, but its a traditional generator and its loud. Plus, it trips its breaker as soon as I fire up a coffee pot. That's a no-go.
