Is Vigenere cipher a polyalphabetic cipher? If so how can the same occurance of letter can be encrypted to same letter. Like all occurance of e is given 4 value. This is monoalphabetic right?
no no dear you its poly alphabetic... see 4 is the index value of e... Like for a is 0 b is 1 c is 2 d is 3 and e is 4 and then we merge it with the key provided the we get the cipher value if you notice all cipher converted value of e is different for each occurrence
that calculation is for finiding remainder...that is needed in decryption as well...i could do without calculator but to give you a idea i showed it once jn encryption part...if you are good in maths then you wont be having problem in finding remainder without calculator also...
