It blew my mind when I suddenly found out that this song actually announced the new album Ragnarok just like Heimdall's Gjallarhorn did in the mythology.
+Aleks Persson The Galdr and Sedir being preformed here is hauntingly beautiful to say the least its awakening things long forgotten and not heard in over a thousand years. read my comment above as well some interesting stuff going on if you know anything about the runes gods and lore as well...
This music on this night inspired some incredible old fashioned visionary thought, images that ring vividly. A trembling moon, a trailing howl, inexorable immortal elements and seasons and the eternal surprise of our existence. What a discovery this was.
Is it weird that I don't understand a word they say in their songs but I am absolutely in love with the beat and the feel of their music? its indescribable.
+Jay Jazz168 I only speak english, but listening to Helvegen almost had me in tears. They did an incredible job portraying atmosphere with the chorus of vocals
+Jay Jazz168 . Not weird at all. I don't understand the words either, but the music reaches that long dormant part of my soul still wild, unrestrained, and untamed by modern day Judeo-Christian society. The first time I listened to Wardruna's album Runaljod, it was like being on a vision quest.
+Whellis House - Me too! I am very much a Metal Head at heart but this does good things for me. Primitive and powerful Viking music that touches the warrior in me!
These concerts were so pure...they tapped into something primal. Saw them here in 2016. More polished now....they should do more small performances. That's where the magic happens.
The song which calls for Heimdall to open the ancient doors of Asgaard.. The song which will cause Odin to meet Kvitrafn at the door.. The song which will call for our end, but at the same time, our rebirth.. All is not gone, for when all of the old world is gone, a new one will arise.. A new world, where everyone is free, where life is reborn.
+Einherjar Skadisson I see I am not the only one who has figured this out, its all part of the circle, birth life death rebirth “Ragnarok isn’t just about death, it’s also about rebirth. As one thing finishes, another begins.”
+n0cturn4lsh4d0w The title says it all when you know the Eddas. The Gjallarhorn is also the one with wich Mimir drink at his source and is guardian of wisdom. But as I cannot translate all what is said in the song, I don't know if it's also refering to that.
When will the next album be released? I haven't heard anything of it, but I'm waiting ever so eagerly for news on a potential date... Powerful musik, all of it. It calls the ancestral spirit straight out of the past..
It has been said by Gaahl that the goal of wardruna is to bring back baldr from hel so that baldr can die an in an honorable way so he might go to valhalla, I wonder why they would want to raise Baldr from where he is safe in hel and its stated that would be reborn with his brother Hod in the new age after Ragnarok... Insted they it would appear is if they wish for Baldr to fight and potentially die with the einhenjar and the gods in the final battle "/watch?v=ubinkOgPSuA" There is Strong rune magic, Galdr and perhaps Sedir being preformed here to raise baldr from hell, They woke the sleeping Yingling Kings in the Borre Mounds during the Midguardsblot, Now he calls to Heimdall using Gjallarhorn, The destruction of Ragnarok will whipe out the 9 Worlds and destroy all of the gods realms and man nothing can escape that fate... whats the next album... Ragnarok, very interesting stuff gives this song a haunting feel doesnt it?
Hail to son of Allfader. Hail to that which see throught a hundred miles and hear how the grass is grow. Hail to mighty Heimdall! Hail to Mardall,Ríg and White God ! To mighty safe of Gjallarhorn !
I want to hear this song in some better quality. It's realy important to me. Is it possibile, that I can find a better version? Can somebody help me? Please! I'm begging!
At the risk of sounding like an utter philistine, it sounds like a Viking - Blue man group. I'll have to try other performances to see if i can get into this.
Hallo or Hello called, means WALHALLODIN. Remember you. Can you see the Hallo in there ? WAL(HALLO)DIN . Hallo al together. Do you know our WALHALL ? Or ODIN with the Dunnrerkeil (Thunderbolt)? So the Dunnrer Thundrer everytime Sounds so should be our Gods again. At Dunnrerkeil (Thunderbolt) .
Rodrigo-sama No, Ragnarok is some sort of 'end of time' in which the gods go to war together with all the warriors who were brave enough that they were chosen by the Valkyrie to live in their halls and that all the worlds fall apart. I'm sorry if I'm getting any information wrong but that's what I thought it was.
+Hanaar Steelhand Earlier this year, Wardruna announced Gaahl wouldn't be performing live (as Kalmaved mentioned). I've also heard, and I don't know how true this is, that he's not allowed in the U.S. But yeah, he wasn't present for this show.
Pure Balkan folk. Nothig surprisly, becouse the Nordic peerage ( for example Thor) are from Bulgarian region - Thracia - "Thrudheim" - The Land Of Power, the realm of Thor; and Breidablik, the home of Balder. by Snorri Sturluson. Thracian culture is not Greek. Greeks are descendants of the Semites, Danaans, they do not even speak an European language. "Thracians" is another name for us - Bulgarians and means "daring, rebellious, having indomitable character".

This isn't ancient music, this is modern music. Einar himself said 'The old songs are gone'. (/watch?v=1fE02cU7ALs 1:30) It still is really cool though.
The fact that Einar plays percussion and other instruments while singing is very impressive-it is much more difficult than it appears.
Well, he used to be a drummer.
a tip : you can watch movies at KaldroStream. Me and my gf have been using it for watching loads of movies these days.

It blew my mind when I suddenly found out that this song actually announced the new album Ragnarok just like Heimdall's Gjallarhorn did in the mythology.
Rekindling magic into our world. It was never gone, only simmering below the surface. *As you sleep, watch!*
+Aleks Persson The Galdr and Sedir being preformed here is hauntingly beautiful to say the least its awakening things long forgotten and not heard in over a thousand years. read my comment above as well some interesting stuff going on if you know anything about the runes gods and lore as well...
Yes
This was the most magical moment of my life.
+Kendall Niflheim Right there with you!
I could not be more jealous. This is amazing to watch. Selvik really knows how to capture something raw.

+Jay Jazz168 if you learn the lyrics, its twice as awesome. follow my advice and get yourself the norwegian + e english lyrics, it will be worth it :)
+Justus Dahl Where might I find said lyrics? Google has disappointed me.
Just HOW good is this? Slightly different to the version I've heard before but I'm sure they have improved it. AWESOME!!!!
Makes me excited to hear the next album!
+Whellis House - Me too! I am very much a Metal Head at heart but this does good things for me. Primitive and powerful Viking music that touches the warrior in me!

Thanks a million for this one................
This is nothing short of amazing. I love Einar and his message. My new favorite.
These concerts were so pure...they tapped into something primal. Saw them here in 2016. More polished now....they should do more small performances. That's where the magic happens.
They were amazing, and you were really close! :)
+Morgaine)0( :)

outstanding performance from wardruna.

Looking at the tracklist for Wardruna's new album, this song is not on it :( Unless it has now been renamed. Cannot wait for the new record!
love this
it's amazing how they have captured the anceint sound of old eroupe the anceint ecows of tribes lost in eroupean blood....
So powerful!
Wonderful
Best song in Ragnarok by far
When will the next album be released? I haven't heard anything of it, but I'm waiting ever so eagerly for news on a potential date...
Powerful musik, all of it. It calls the ancestral spirit straight out of the past..
***** I saw that. I'm very excited to hear Runaljod - Ragnarök :)
True old European music
Ah the Americans meet the Nords, its a very rich culture, I hope you enjoy.
So this is their prototype version of Runaljod.
hail Odin the allfather
+Adam Gullberg Hail
Hail!
Skål!

+n0cturn4lsh4d0w It is a rebirth of our germanic and nordic tribal traditions. I think it touches many people that way.
+n0cturn4lsh4d0w Yes, specially with war looming in the air as it is... O.O
+n0cturn4lsh4d0w The Edda say that Thor has bring back Balder from Hel. I know this... Its the secret Way to bring back the Gods .
+n0cturn4lsh4d0w is this serious?
+n0cturn4lsh4d0w His absence in Wardruna robs an ocean of depth from the sound.
Hail to son of Allfader. Hail to that which see throught a hundred miles and hear how the grass is grow. Hail to mighty Heimdall! Hail to Mardall,Ríg and White God ! To mighty safe of Gjallarhorn !
Gaahl's vocal is missing in this song.... :-(
I want to hear this song in some better quality. It's realy important to me. Is it possibile, that I can find a better version? Can somebody help me? Please! I'm begging!
Thanks a lot.
I love this song! Is it from new album or something?
suoer chingon
Nice! Where is Gaahl?
The song's name is Runaljod not Gjallarhorn...
At the risk of sounding like an utter philistine, it sounds like a Viking - Blue man group. I'll have to try other performances to see if i can get into this.
Much prefer this version.
This is now Runaljod wow
Come to Rome please
Du, die Römer hatten schon damals ein schweres Problem mit den Nordmännern. Ich weiß nicht wie klug das wäre 😄
hail!
🤘🖤🤘🙏💋🔥
Does this song come in studio version?
Hail Odin ;)
Grüßt Du Dich selbst? 😄
!!!!!
Would have much rather the song be called "Gjallarhorn" Rather than "Runaljod" in the final cut. Still one heck of a song
Runaljod makes a million times more sense considering that most of the lyrics are from the rune poem. :)
At Dunnrerkeil (Thunderbolt) .
what is the meaning of gjallarhorn? I would really appreciate if you explain me ;)
It's a big horn of the god Heimdall and the day he sounds that horn is the day that Ragnarok will start. That's all I know about it.
+vliegendegieter :o thanks my dude
hey does ragnarok means the cicle of life and death?
Rodrigo-sama
No, Ragnarok is some sort of 'end of time' in which the gods go to war together with all the warriors who were brave enough that they were chosen by the Valkyrie to live in their halls and that all the worlds fall apart. I'm sorry if I'm getting any information wrong but that's what I thought it was.
+vliegendegieter einar talks about ragnarok in one vid I saw I think is called völuspa
Rodrigo-sama
That could be, I don't know, I'm a big fan of Wardruna but last time I haven't looked up that much anymore about their songs.
I think it's dagr?
I thought Corvus Corax made this song not Wardruna
Kvitrafn blessed from Allfather himself
lyrics?
I want lyrics please reply
Uh not sure they've released the lyrics for this one yet. The song's not even released.
It sounds out of this world. Maybe the gods helped them in the making of this song he he
+JeKeScy A drop of Kvasir's blood, perhaps? Anyway, those guys are nowadays Skalds.
GIYF
*squeals* Lindy!
when is this album out ?
Around September
Does anyone have these lyrics/know about the third album release?
*+Hanaar Steelhand* currently there's no information about the third album except for the name "Runaljod - Ragnarok".
Right. Also, i didnt see Gaahl in this video?
***** Gaahl no longer _performing live_ with Wardruna. But I don't know whether his voice be present on albums.
+Hanaar Steelhand Earlier this year, Wardruna announced Gaahl wouldn't be performing live (as Kalmaved mentioned). I've also heard, and I don't know how true this is, that he's not allowed in the U.S. But yeah, he wasn't present for this show.

did the americans know what to do with it?

+Nasloxieh Rorsxez haha what a champion, I admit I too wouldn't be able to resist
Tristan Ross Yeah, their music is devoid of talent.
If you weren't disliking as a joke you're a fool
You deserve a blood eagle
The ancient, true music of Europe is back at last! Hail the Gods of Old!
This isn't ancient music, this is modern music. Einar himself said 'The old songs are gone'. (/watch?v=1fE02cU7ALs 1:30)
It still is really cool though.
