Thanks to this video I learned something new and useful, "Foreground, midground and background."
Loved the part where Brad Pitt was telling us about documentary photography.
This is an absolute gem of an interview. Really sound and inspiring photographic advice. Best five minutes I have spent on UA-cam. Thank you Marc and Dan.
Dan has a fantastic way of explaining story telling as a photographer -including some painful decisions you might have to make. I'd love to hear if you use these tips and the stories you tell with your own photos.
Dan Milnor said so much in those few minutes and able to make it clear that slowing down and getting those three elements of a photo, the foreground, midground and background to build depth and all tied together with good lighting. Thanks for video!
In just under 5 minutes a concise introduction to photo journalism..and making you personal images stronger.
Great advice.
Excellent advice, concisely put. To really see, you can't rush. Thank you, Dan. And Marc.
Great! Thank you for this amazing material.
Another great interview with very useful content. Thanks!!
I agree with what he says that photography must tell us something, a story. Sometimes I see photographs that are dedicated to street photography that make sounds to cause reactions or only take faces of astonished people but the environment says nothing. If I am going to take pictures of a person I like to know what he is doing if he is a craftsman, delve deeper into it and so take the photos which will have a greater meaning. And patience is the mother of all virtues.
Amazing tips, Thank you!
always appreciate that wisdom and experience of others : )
i have watched several of your dan milnor interviews. i really appreciate his insights. thank you both for the effort and the sharing. thumbs up.
You always make interesting, thoughtful and enjoyable presentations; thank you; do more...and never become tired!!!
This was great despite having no intention of doing reportage; love that! Thank you :D
Nice to see them manual Ms in the field!❤️
Thanks Marc. Seems like ages since we did this. We have to remedy that! Appreciate you featuring this piece.
"In terms of telling stories, I think you have to make some decisions as a photographer. You have to make some rather painful realizations about telling stories with photographs." Dan Milnor
Love your videos ❤️ being a Canadian documentary photographer in Santiago Dominican Republic . I have had that so often "what are you doing" and Spanish is a must ... I did a week to 2 week baseball project. And a few week shoot about a small community below a bridge that lives with the constant threat of flooding from a polluted river , canal . Such a tragic situation and all alone no government support
