Not all Anglicans exclusively baptize by affusion. There was an Anglican Church in Englewood, Co. They bought a church with a bapistry. They used that, since it was readily available. I was baptized by immersion at 8... Assemblies of God. When I came into the Anglican world the bishop received that baptism as valid. What I disagree with is when folks leave a liturgical church for an evangelical church and they are insistent that they be baptized by immersion.
I think the typology of Baptism in Noah's Ark and the Red Sea has more to do with leaving sinful life/world behind and entering into a covenant relationship with God, not about the physical characteristics of the sprinkling of rain or mist. In the Ark, Noah's family was kept safe, just like we are/will be kept safe because we are united in Christ (the new ark). Moses was the original law giver/prophet as type for Jesus as the new lawgiver/Son of God. There is enough early church tradition as recorded in Didache., etc. to know that there were different practices based on regional climate and circumstances. Still doesn't mean the preferred method is immersion in living water. I think it provides the clearest visual picture of us "being buried with Christ in baptism" and "arising to walk in newness of life" Romans 6:4-5.
What do you think about Agustain and Cyprian not being baptised as a child even though they were born into a Christian family? Would you say that baptism of infents is a development in the church?
St. Cyprian was born to a Pagan family and therefore wasn't baptized as a baby. St. Monica wanted to have St. Augustine baptized, but her husband Patricius was not a Christian and didn't consent. Later Monica pleaded for a 7-year-old Augustine to baptized when he became gravely ill, while his father originally consented and arrangements were made, he recovered and therefore his father rescinded his consent.
@@FrSteveMacias I do not disagree with what you said in your motion picture video, but I think it is important to classify water baptism as something God does more than what man does. I view baptism as being likened to the reception of an "invisible Bible" as such a recipient then gets enrolled into a program whereby they receive communications from God. In Romans 3:1-2 we read that circumcision brings forth benefits of receiving the oracles of God. If baptism is the equivalent for the New Covenant in Christ Jesus, then the recipient should get information from God that leads to right beliefs, proper repentance, and a good conscience; right? The need for this is apparent for the mentally disabled including babies. Holding onto the Baptist doctrinal position that one must first want to be baptized to receive this is likened to holding on to the position that one must first want a manufactured Bible as a prerequisite to receiving one. If a person does not want to be baptized, they should not have this sacrament imposed on them. OTOH, if they are willing to receive baptism, then they are willing to receive this "invisible Bible" much like a willingness to receive a manufactured Bible. Owning a manufactured Bible does not prove a person has made a religious statement.

If a person gets water baptized into Christ (as per Galatians 3:27) and becomes a member of the body of Christ thereby, and the body of Christ already received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with fire on the day of Pentecost, then doesn't it make sense that a water baptism in the name of the Holy Trinity provides the recipient the one baptism mentioned in Ephesians 4:5?

@@SpotterVideo This is the verse in question according the the NASB: 13 For [m]by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. The [m] says "by" can also be translated "in". When a person is water baptized in the name of the Holy trinity, they become a member of the body of Christ (even if they are a baby, a mentally disabled person, or even an atheist). They need belief to receive (drink in) the Holy Spirit, and this may come also with the laying on of hands. See Acts 19:1-7 where the baptism in the name of Jesus incorporated them into the body as a prerequisite to the reception of the Holy Spirit with the laying on of hands. They also needed Christian faith which is why the rite of confirmation comes with the age of reason. See also Galatians 3:26-4:7, which describes a person who is a heir (who is temporarily treated like a slave) until they come to have faith. So it is with the infant baptized until they came to have faith. They are first a heir through their water baptism.

@@FrSteveMacias I do not disagree with what you said in your motion picture video, but I think it is important to classify water baptism as something God does more than what man does. I view baptism as being likened to the reception of an "invisible Bible" as such a recipient then gets enrolled into a program whereby they receive communications from God. In Romans 3:1-2 we read that circumcision brings forth benefits of receiving the oracles of God. If baptism is the equivalent for the New Covenant in Christ Jesus, then the recipient should get information from God that leads to right beliefs, proper repentance, and a good conscience; right? The need for this is apparent for the mentally disabled including babies. Holding onto the Baptist doctrinal position that one must first want to be baptized to receive this is likened to holding on to the position that one must first want a manufactured Bible as a prerequisite to receiving one. If a person does not want to be baptized, they should not have this sacrament imposed on them. OTOH, if they are willing to receive baptism, then they are willing to receive this "invisible Bible" much like a willingness to receive a manufactured Bible. Owning a manufactured Bible does not prove a person has made a religious statement.

Old Covenant Baptism vs. New Covenant Baptism (water vs. Spirit)
Water baptism was a part of the Old Covenant system of ritual washing. The Old Covenant priests had to wash before beginning their service in the temple. (Ex. 30:17-30) When Christ was water baptized by His cousin John in the Jordan River, He was under the Old Covenant system. He also only ate certain foods, and wore certain clothes, as prescribed by the 613 Old Covenant laws. Christ was water baptized by John and then received the Holy Spirit from heaven. The order is reversed in the New Covenant. A person receives the Holy Spirit upon conversion, and then believers often declare their conversion to their friends and family through a water baptism ceremony. Based on Luke 3:16, and John 1:33, and Acts 11:15-16, the most important thing about the word "baptize" in the New Testament has nothing to do with water. The Holy Spirit is the master teacher promised to New Covenant believers in Jeremiah 31:34, and John 14:26, and is found fulfilled in Ephesians 1:13, and 1 John 2:27. Unfortunately, many modern Christians see water when they read the word "baptize" in the text.

What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word.
Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary.
What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below.

Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis?
Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart.
Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36)
We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24.

If a person gets water baptized into Christ (as per Galatians 3:27) and becomes a member of the body of Christ thereby, and the body of Christ already received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with fire on the day of Pentecost, then doesn't it make sense that a water baptism in the name of the Holy Trinity provides the recipient the one baptism mentioned in Ephesians 4:5?

13 For [m]by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
The [m] says "by" can also be translated "in".
When a person is water baptized in the name of the Holy trinity, they become a member of the body of Christ (even if they are a baby, a mentally disabled person, or even an atheist). They need belief to receive (drink in) the Holy Spirit, and this may come also with the laying on of hands. See Acts 19:1-7 where the baptism in the name of Jesus incorporated them into the body as a prerequisite to the reception of the Holy Spirit with the laying on of hands. They also needed Christian faith which is why the rite of confirmation comes with the age of reason. See also Galatians 3:26-4:7, which describes a person who is a heir (who is temporarily treated like a slave) until they come to have faith. So it is with the infant baptized until they came to have faith. They are first a heir through their water baptism.

I was water baptized as an infant but spent the first 45 years of my life not being in Christ.

44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message.
45 All the Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had also been poured out on the Gentiles.
46 For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter responded,

Even when the time came for uncircumcised men to receive the Holy Spirit, baptism was still with water. Where do you read of a NT non-water baptism after the day of Pentecost?
