Channels like yours have really helped me to believe that a slow, gentle, and fulfilling life is perfectly ok to lead - even if so much of the world is so fast paced and overwhelming. It is completely understandable and okay to feel and think the way you are about where your life is heading, but just know that if you follow your gut instinct you will be okay. It doesn’t matter what society or even your sometimes intrusive thoughts say about where you should be or what you should do. You are not alone- as an introvert, young women, young professionals, etc. I am 35 and I had to go back to leave with my mom even though I have a professional job, etc. but still things are just crazy expensive (and I live in one of the most expensive cities in the US). You do what you gotta do. I guess, with this rambling I am trying to say that- it is ok to get out of your comfort zone for growth, etc., but is also ok to advocate for your well-being. You are hard working and talented, and without a doubt will be exposed to growth and out-of-comfort zone moments. Just take it slow in other aspects of your life; sometimes not all needs to happen at once. Thanks for sharing. Love your videos!😊 ( sorry this is so long!!!)

Honestly thank you for this…this is so refreshing to hear. Im 30 and at my moms too. I never hear the end of “where im supposed to be or what im supposed to be doing. I hear it from my mom and family members constantly and it can be so discouraging. Thank you for the kind words.

I’ve been watching your videos for a while now but have never commented. I was rewatching your videos today and wanted to say, I relate to you. I‘m 24, live in Canada. I graduated from college a year ago. Up until 21, I had always lived at home, with my parents, brother, and my furry babies. At 21, I felt the pressure of moving out, feeling „too old“ to live at home, needing to start „adulting“. I got myself an apartment very close the college I went to, in the city. I was so sad to move out but I thought I had to and thought the sadness would go away eventually. So I moved and took my 3 cats with me. The first night, I sobbed for 8 hours straight. I felt unsafe, guilty for taking the freedom of a house and garden away from my cats. I missed my parents. I was scared. My babies were scared. And again, I thought it was something everyone has to just get through. The apartment was gorgeous and the price was decent, so I also felt guilty for not making the most of the new chapter in my life. I tried making up a new routine. But in the end, I got more miserable as time went on. I cried almost every evening, I had no motivation to cook, I had no appetite. I went back home every weekend but that still didn’t feel like enough. Then I tried not going back home at all for a month too see if I’d get used to the new life faster that way, but I couldn’t stop thinking about life at home. My cats couldn’t go out as often, couldn’t lie in the sunshine whenever they pleased. The hardest part was going back to college after Christmas holidays. I was just sad, most of the time. I ended up telling my parents how I’d been feeling and decided to move back home in May (9 months after moving into the apartment). I moved all my stuff back home, back to nature and most importantly, my babies got their best life back. It’s been 2 years now, I have a full time job, I am an adult, I have responsibilities, but I still live at home and haven’t thought about moving out. I am happy. Maybe I just wasn’t ready then but tbh I am not ready now either. I had to pay 3 months worth of rent for an empty apartment haha (contracts are usually 12 months here). I guess what I’m trying to say is, do what feels right for you. Don’t rush anything. You are doing so wonderfully. I think I rambled on a bit, but I wanted to share that you are not alone. And there are different paths in life, each person is different, each family is different. And I want you to know that whatever you decide, I hope you do it because it feels right, it feels good. There is no right answer. But I think the wrong answer is doing something because we feel pressured to do it. I’m sending you lots of happy hugs, I hope you are doing well and having a lovely summer ☺️ xx

I want to add that I know I am very, very fortunate to have been able to go back home 2 years ago and to still be able to live at home now. I don’t take that for granted.
hi! thank you for sharing your story. i completely agree with what you said and that made me feel less lonely in my choice. sometimes i feel judged just because i still live with my family but the truth is, i enjoy staying with them! i of course would love to get my own place one day, but i can say that right now the timing is just not right :)

I think I never left a comment in your channel but I’m watching you since you started and I want to say. I am 28 and my whole life I lived in the city. I temporarily lived in London and Dublin so that hustle bustle life is what I’ve known. I always craved a slow life and lately that it’s ‘trending’ I find myself questioning if I want it or if society and the internet makes me want it. I assume, the pressure of the city life chase being set in stone for decades now must be millions of times greater. My wholeheartedly advise would be, don’t rush yourself to make the next move. You are only 23. You just finished college. Let the next chapter come to you, don’t go searching for it ❤
Hey Meg , as someone who graduated last may from tv and media production I just want to say don’t be too hard on yourself. Everything will fall into place , try a lot of different things before going into film and tv industry, it’s tough but 1000% worth and aslo I’m too kinda shy person don’t like networking but being in the industry has really push me out of my comfort zone . I really love your vlogs ❤
Don’t be hard on yourself. I feel what your saying, I moved out of home and moved to a hustle bustle area and i couldn’t do it. I love the country side so i knew that’s where I needed to be. Trust your gut and forget about the pressure. You can always travel to work, and come home to peace.
Love your videos ❤ I feel like we are so similar in our comforts and what we like, but also in our worries regarding what is next and where to live and feeling that pressure etc. Do what makes you happy and comfortable. I think like you say it is great to visit and experience cities, but also it is soo lovely to come home to somewhere more peaceful and green. I think I’m just trying to say that I see where you’re coming from and am sending love ❤ thanks for another sweet video xx

Also please keep in mind that the reality of living in London most times doesn’t live up to the hype or what gets shared on social media. As someone that grew up in the countryside and loved london, I moved there right after graduation and I regretted it. I ended up moving outside of London because I was paying a premium price to be in London and then not being able to afford to do anything there.

Meg if you're thinking of working in London you don't have to live there! I live in Surrey currently and absolutely love it, you would be amazed at how much green space there is on the outskirts of London!! XXX
I feel the exact same!! Why is there so much pressure to move to London of all places too?! I have lots of friends there and go all the time but it doesn't feel right for me, so I'm following that instinct, and you should too! Just because it's right for some people doesn't mean it's necessarily right for you. I'm telling myself to enjoy where I am and not worry too much - I think that's the best thing for it :-) x

Newer subscriber and new commenter (US). First, I love your content, its so cute! Second, I grew up in the country then got my Masters in DC. My advise is just to breathe and take your time to discover post college you. It might be very different than pre college you, and that is ok. If you don't like the city for more than a visit, then stay in the country 💚You could try to get a hybrid or remote job and see if you can handle that before deciding on a whole move to a place that could make your mental health unstable. Discover and be yourself, society is a dumpster fire of bad expectations that don't make sense haha ❤

I’m usually a silent watcher lol I don’t tend to leave comments but I just wanted to say I get how you feel about moving away from the country. I’m from Somerset and I moved away when I was 19 to go to drama school in London - best and hardest decision I’ve made to date. I hope you don’t mind me offering some unasked for advice lol, but I’m 23 now, and I’ve just finished uni too and I think, especially in our industry, the future is so uncertain and scary for actors like me and film makers like you it’s literally all so uncertain and up in the air, what a great career we’ve chose lol. And maybe you’ll love London/city living or you’ll hate it but the best thing is, even though we’re kind-of-adults we’re actually still pretty young and if moving to a city is a big mistake then move back or if you stay in the country and change your mind that’s cool too, you can. You have time, you don’t have kids or a mortgage you can move and change your mind, maybe trial it out with a sublet in an outer borough of the city, I live in Ealing and it genuinely feels a bit like the town near where I grew up, so maybe you could try different areas, or different smaller cities and see how it goes? Or see how your work goes wherever you are right now there’s no reason why you can’t stay there and then travel to wherever the work is. I think a lot of adult life is trying stuff on, seeing if it fits and if it doesn’t move on to the next, life is too short and our twenties are even shorter.
Maybe because you share your life online you feel as though you have this extra pressure to get it right first time but genuinely, from someone in a similar boat to you, it’s nice seeing that I’m not alone in my worries/struggles. My mum always said, “It’ll all work out the way it’s meant to” and I genuinely believe that’s the case. I hope you and your loved ones are all well and I hope you have a great summer x
