The target block also gets pushed out of bounds, so punch out a block for it too specifically the glass under the reset noteblock, you can replace it with any block that will change the instrument of a note block like cobblestone you can also replace the button noteblock with a target block to get a retracting target ig, but make sure to remove the arrow somehow before resetting it or else it may break (not guarranteed to work)
@@Apersonl0l Redstone redirection. Have the piston powered by redstone dust via a solid block, and redirect the redstone. The piston will now be budded (not by quasi-connectivity)

Alternative idea:
You can bud an extended piston by redstone redirection, and updating the block will retract it.
I have no clue how to bud a piston with having everything flushed with the ground 👍
But yeah I might look into it
