I started diving when I was 14 and that passion took me all around the world to some incredible places. I cut my teeth in the PNW. Growing up in Victoria had some advantages. I haven't dived in over 10 years and watching your videos inspires me to gear up get wet again. Keep doing what you're doing showcasing our beautiful corner of the world.

Crazy man! Thanks for sharing that. That sounds amazing. I'm fairly inexperienced with diving abroad but I'm trying to make the most of our own backyard. I know it's world class so why not! I'm happy I've re-inspired your passion for diving, that's unbelievable. I appreciate the comment and words!

The one thing Orca needs to do is a focus beam, where you can widen the band, or narrow for the crack looking.
Overall it looked good, but wow your cam really helps everything on my screen. Good review bud!! 🍻🇨🇦🍻

Thanks man! And that's why I'm hoping they let me review the OrcaZD710. It can go from 8° to 76°. Looks pretty awesome!

Hey Chris!! Well you touched on it in your concluding comments, with the narrow beam at that intensity it should prove to be a very good hunting light. Peering into the rocks and crevices looking for Ling's or even crabs etc. this beam should provide you with a great light during those activities, and even just exploring and treasure/bottle hunting again it would be very good looking back into the rocks.
There is a very probable chance that I will be out your way sometime next Summer/Autumn so if you'd like to grab a coffee and get acquainted let me know. I'll be on a fact finding mission to see what the provincial disability assured income is and the specifics of cost of living/rent etc. difference between Nanaimo/Ladysmith, Port Alberni and maybe even the south part of Vancouver Island. I love Alberta to my core, but the Winter's are really starting to hurt. We had two days of -50C last Winter and a bunch of -30C - -40C days. Even though I was inside my stump and my joints ached something fierce, and why not live near the Ocean if you have a chance to, right!? I just have to find a wetsuit in Extra Fat size and one big oversized humongous dive fin in size 10.5, a mask a few bits and bobs and a speargun and I'll be in business!! Just have to figure out a safe way for me to get to some of these areas without killing myself and all will be good!! Say, if you know the person who builds those Sphyrna Mokarran Spearguns I wouldn't mind finding out how much they cost and what kind of timeline there is from ordering to shooting. Take care, all the best to your Lovely Mrs. and your two bundles of energy!! - Dave

Thanks man! That sounds awesome, I'd imagine you'd do much better on the west coast. Cold definitely hits the joints. Also, makes you more prone to further injuries. If you get the gear I'd be happy to take you out. Or grab a coffee at minimum haha. I believe those were made by Chris Campbell but I haven't heard much about them in a long time. My buddy Brett just made me that Bickerton Speargun. I'm loving it!

@@PNWSamson Nice!! Some good protein for the Family!! I miss fresh Lingcod, so yummy, and the Salmon, the Tuna off the West side of the Island if you go off-shore a ways, Halibut, Rockfish, Squid,....it's a rather extensive list if I'm honest. I remember watching kids fishing for Squid in Victoria and I imagine anywhere there is a pier you could find them. Man I miss the coast and the Island. ; )

D710V is way better, it’s brighter and has a wider beam. It’s called a video light but I like it way better in general

Cool! Good to know. Have you tried the ZD710? That looks really nice. Larger battery capacity too. Odepro gave me the option to review the DC710 or DC710v. Now I'm wondering about the other one. The DC710 comes with the wrist strap from odepro so that was the deciding factor for me.

@@PNWSamson Wrist straps are for noobs, no offense bro lol. Experienced cave divers use double-enders to clip the light onto their BCD’s D-rings when not using it. This way you can have 2 hands free when needed. (Basically- anytime you’re not using the light, it should be clipped to your BCD and not dangling around your wrist).

Now I know why they call the Canadian Pacific North West British Columbia, because the water visibility is as green as it is in Britain!

Not yet! Hopefully one day. A few of my friends have. Sorry if I didn't respond in the lost, sometimes comments get lost in cyberspace.
