Good video. I have been using these boots for 2 seasons and I also noticed the issue with the locking system. Now I have to always keep them in "descending mode" while at home, otherwise the looking hook doesn't work properly and I have to spend long time trying to lock the boots (usually on a freezing mountain top, chilling because of the winds) 🥶

Yikes! Doesn’t sound very enjoyable. They could certainly use another update on this part but that may be a while unfortunately. 😒

Hi Will. Thanks for the video!
How are the Cosmos boots holding up? It seems that they offer the widest last on the market (?). Did you punch the shell to increase their width? It would be great to hear your experience during the last few months.
P.S.: I'm stuck right now with the boot choice. My foot width is 110 mm at rest, and 115 mm during exercise. I got a pair of Hoji Free (102 mm last), but after punching them a couple of times, they still didn't get good enough. I'm about to put them for sale, as the pain next to the 5th metatarsal is too much (compressed nerve, blood flow, numbing etc. etc.).

Yikes! Yes please find a wider one! Not worth a foot injury, especially some bone injuries can take years to heal. Last on these is 103.5 I believe and there are some boots that go to 104. I had to punch once and that solved it for me. Boot are holding up well. The lock/walk issue is not as bad as I though just takes some learning. The second lowest buckles have both broken though losing their spring, I requested the parts under warranty about 8 weeks ago and they’re still not here. Issues with international companies I guess. Not a huge issue but irritating considering the price. I’m sorry I can’t recommend anything wider, I just don’t know anything else!

I've just got a pair and skiing in them for the first time last night and they handled well. Would you loosen the top velcro top for skiing downhill?

For me that depends what pack I'm wearing. On my most recent trip we had full overnight 20kg bags so I wasn't too picky about the downhill performance but otherwise with a day back on I'm definitely strapping them tight right up.
