1. Be consistent with your work
2. Have good time management
3. Always make time and prioritize the things that you enjoy outside of school
4. Having a social life is very important m
5. Attend compulsory activities
6. Take care of yourself and your mental health
Has anybody had issues with 56 Jorissen ? I'm planning on living there next year because it seems like a really beautiful place , but I'd really like to know if anyone has had bad experiences with the place
Hey babe, I think I’ve seen people comment and complain about it hey. I’m not sure how bad it is now. I’ll find out though and come back to this comment and let you know. Just check through the comments as well because there are people who speak about it 🫶🏾
I live there and for my first year being there I'd suggest that you don't waste your parents money going there. It's beautiful inside and out, however, it has too many admin problems that will leave you frustrated most of the year. The wifi has a shutdown almost every week for about 2-4 days at most, electricity and water tokens sometimes aren't given to us, it's really a lot admin that's really a problem, otherwise it's quite a decent place.
Also heard about cockroaches. Is it that bad? Or is it only on certain floors?
It's bad don't go the ghetto 😅

Yay you will complain ! Wifi is absent most of the time, imagine in the height of online learning i was relying on wits wifi whilst I was in a South Point building.

Welcome to the channel 🤍 I would say on campus reses are the most friendly. But I mean, there aren’t many reses that treat people from a different nation differently

hey i applied for a different res at wits I'll be doing first year next so they automatically changed me to 49 jorrisen street due to some reasons now I've been watching different res videos but no one spoke about 49 jorrisen street so i would like to know what's your take about 49 jorrisen and I'll also like to know if you want to change residence what do you do or shall I wait for next year i really don't know
It’s a new res so I don’t know a lot about it. But their Instagram looks like it’s quite nice and the fact that it’s new may be a plus. But I don’t think anyone has seen it because it was a work in progress last year.

Hi. I wanted to ask about Argyle house. I looked it up and I see that the rooms don't have bathrooms. So does everyone in the building share a bathroom? If so how big is it?
From my understanding, a bathroom is shared by 4 people in the unit who have individual bedrooms
@Zinhle M Tbh, Argyle House's website seems really sketchy to me. Most of their photos are either photoshopped or very random and it comes off as scammy. I didn't think they were real coz I've never heard of them and there's barely any information about them online. I'll email them but for my own peace of mind, Id like an honest review from someone who lived there and also some real pictures of the place.
@@wame I have friends who live there. 2 of them actually. I can try connect you with one of them if you’re still skeptical. I’ve also been there and it looks decent honestly.

I don’t want to lie, I’m not 100% sure. I think NSFAS gives you R45k and so you’ll subtract that from whatever you’d pay for the year at the accommodation

Yes, most of them can
Is Wits junction nsfas accredited? The last time I checked it wasn't...I just want to be sure
I’m on NSFAS and I stay there. They may be weird at first but I think you can talk to SRC if they give you trouble

I think so, but you’ll have to pay a lot of it yourself. It doesn’t cover the whole fee, I think

Not that I know of. But I think there’s transport to APK close to J One
What do you know or think about Yale Village?
It’s also a really good res. One of the nicer ones in fact so if you’re looking for a wits accommodation (wits res) I would highly recommend 🙏🏼

Most of them you can apply online. Those that you can’t, I’m guessing you’d have to go to the accommodation itself
