The Everly Brothers have been my idols since the early 60's when I first heard them through my older rock and roll aunt on all her 45's on her hifi. I'm a bassist and playing with them would have been a dream come true, I did see them in 1995 in Boston though with Albert and Buddy Emmons at an Oldies 103 outside concert at Boston City Hall. I'm pretty sure I have just about everything they've ever recorded including LP's, 45's and all the Bear Family reissue box sets which are REALLY great, along with many outtake reissues originally from both Cadence and WB, little Columbia too.
Congratulations to You Albert. You are one of most Talented Gracious and unassuming people we ever .had at Springhead. We so enjoyed all the Fabulous Shows and feel so humbled by your grace and expertise. We will treasure the memories we all shared. Albert, we once jammed on guitar together. I was backstage at one of the concerts of The Everly Brothers in the Netherlands in the mid 80's. I still have a picture of it. Great time and I was so proud that I got to meet you as a 15 year old guitarist. You are one of my favorite guitarists!
When I saw Emmylou Harris and the Hot Band in 1978, Albert had replaced James Burton as a lead guitarist. Glen D. Hardin from Elvis' TCB Band played the piano. A great evening with top performers.
