By the time any of this even matters, Epic Universe is going to already be working on their own expansions. They’ll destroy Rivers of America to play catch up, and they still wont even be close in the race with Epic.

@@WDW_ProI can understand the frustration but to be honest I don’t think many people go to Tom sawyers anymore. Maybe a few do but Disney needs expansions and they can’t keep that rivers of America thing for long. I think there will still be water in the land. I think the reason why people are not liking this concept is because they are worried it would look like trash but none of us have any idea what it looks like. My sister, who has been a pixie duster for years, apologized to me today. About ten years ago, I said Disney was losing its vision. I told her Iger was going to do harm to the company in the long run. Over the last decade things got worse and worse and she came up with every excuse she could. Now that they have announced that they will demolish Rivers of America…she is broken. I told her I wished I could feel vindicated by her apology but I don’t. I got quite the props on X when I mentioned take the villains land artwork and reduce it to 25-35% of what’s actually drawn. The concept artist can draw anything he wants. He’s not constrained by budget or physics and statics. Only has to buy colored pencils.
Same with any company and marketing’s promises and what the budget and engineering can actually provide. Since Disney went on a layoff spree of their best (and admittedly probably pricey, but worth it) imagineers, the current crop has no one to learn from to pass the torch.
I’m sure there are some imagineers who realize how dumb this is, but upper management wants a quick buck with zero investment so random IP’s it is!

Walt Disney had a major part in the design of Disneyland (including trying to educate on a small level the American history and culture) and Disney World continued his design dream and legacy. The Progressive way... then all would be right with the world and the Disney Company would make money.
They're currently working their way through each of the attractions to "fix" them. As mentioned in the video, I expect the Hall of Presidents to go away and maybe a U.N. or W.E.F. attraction to take its place.

It's even worse when you think about the fact that in a lot of these cases there are bits of the park that are falling out of favor, but they aren't retheming those bits. The back half of the island would have been the logical place to put a Tiana themed attraction. It's already wet and low lying, so they could have easily put something in there that would be appropriate to the particular character and I'm not sure how many people even use the current island at this point, especially that back half.

I’ve been peeved about this all day. Villains land sounds amazing, but it belongs behind Fantasyland. There’s plenty of land there. Carsland, meanwhile, should be exactly that-Carsland, with Radiator Springs Racers but with a different track and slightly different storyline. And it belongs BEHIND BTM. Tom Sawyer Island can be reimagined but not torn down. The Liberty Belle should DEFINITELY become a floating restaurant with character dining or maybe a dedicated character meet and greet opportunity. The Riverboats in Disneyland are ALWAYS packed, and they have a Tiana meet and greet. To me, this is the proverbial straw. The Splash retheme had the “problematic” component to use as an excuse to change. Country Bears was outdated, so it had a legit excuse, and at least they kept the concept. The destruction of the Moroccan tile and fountain was already pushing it. Communicore could be explained by lack of funds and also they could be bare-bonesing it for the festivals. But this?? Getting rid of Rivers of America to replace it with non-IP Cars cars butting up against Haunted Mansion and Liberty Square is beyond the pale. Where is the logic? It’s not an expansion, and I am not fooled.

The original Frontierland was so much more "Frontierland" than what is left now. There was a stage coach with live horses, a mule train ride on live mules, canoes you could paddle and keel boats you could ride with Mike Fink, King of the River, an Indian Village with costumed dancers, shooting galleries, and a gentle Mine Train ride that was replaced by just another fast roller coaster. LOL, capacity won't be an issue when so many people do the "Seen it once and done it!" trip. I've checked message boards a LOT for the past year. Nobody likes Disney. They're angry about everything from trash on the streets, broken rides (not just Tiana's, but a lot of others due to NEGLECT), soaring prices, ugly hotel room that are constantly being remodeled. It never seems to end. One day, Bobby Iger will look around and wonder where all his guests have gone.

They even had a bit about Facilier's "Friends from the other side". The River Steamboat in the film was based on the Mark Twain. There is no reason, instead of a log flume ride set in the Louisiana Bayou, the Mark Twain and Tom Sawyer's Island would have been perfect of a Princess and the Frog themed area at both Disneyland and the (now) Tragic Kingdom.

I love the water and lush landscaping of the Magic Kingdom’s Rivers of America and would hate to see it destroyed and replaced.
I’ve always wished that Fantasyland and Tomorrowland had something similar as they both have areas that feel like poorly landscaped concrete jungles.
It’s stupid to destroy the scenic and gorgeous Rivers of America when there is plenty of space to build Cars Land elsewhere.
If Cars Land must replace any existing attractions it should replace the lackluster Storybook Circus or equally terrible Tomorrowland Speedway.
