    Amazing! Thank you for putting so much effort into trying to figure out how Evony battle mechanics work. I never expected troop attacks to be somewhat random when there are many layers involved. The mechanics seem to be different when different troop types are involved.

      Each one of these new mechanics makes us one step closer to understanding the game rather than throw random marches at each other. Hopefully one day, we will have a full simulator made and no more questions.

      Thank you, I really appreciate it. And good on you for quitting the game. Its not worth the time or lost money.

    Layering; have an interesting report. I only have 14 layers. My reinforcements had 15 layers and I was attacked by 15 layers. My reins did not get kills until t12. My troops didn’t get kills until t11. It was a ground solo on ground Reins.

    10:15 derrick. I would like to share a recent report with you on discord if you have a moment and dissect it. This does have merit, most of the other lower layers were out of range, however the t11s did still engage the t4s to clear them first. I believe you scrolled down to the t6 layer in the video mistakenly.

    hm, very interesting with the attack order. when you say "who attacks first and last is random", to what degree is it random? because it doesn't seem completely random from your spreadsheet. with the t12 (almost) always attacking second to last, clearly they then won't be in that random pool of first or last. i have the shared experience from the randomness of wounded on monsters, so i understand that when everyone is sending the same layer of mounted or whatever, it's completely random who attacks first (i haven't seen any consistency in regards to who launches the rallies or anything), but in terms of these layers, who is in the pool to recieve the first attack? mostly interested in the case of full layers of every type on both sides.

      Its not completely random. Its more like its pseudo random. It seems random to anyone that is looking at the attack, but it is completely predictable if you have all variables accounted for. I believe traps and the archer tower will also count as an additional "layer" that will also affect which pattern you will fall under.
      I still have a lot to research on this, but I think knowing T12 generally will attack 2nd to last, will help players have a better understanding of what's going on.

      @@DerrickDefies thanks for the info, i will try to discern some data from my battlefield hits and see if i can't add to the information pool. stoked about the barb advice by the way, great video as always, every time you drop a new video i learn something new that i didn't even know i didn't know.

    Question on counterattack damage to layers. If I use a layer of 100 vs 1,000 vs 10,000, won't they just suffer the same amount of counterattack damage and die at the same time if they die to strictly counterattack damage? i.e., my 100 kill 25, and then die to the counterattack, vs my 1000 kill 250 and also die to the counterattack and then 10,000 would kill 2,500 and then again also die to counterattack (presumes the enemy is 4x stronger than your troops)? Fascinating video per usual. And they say this isn't a puzzle game.....

      I think these interactions would depend on the buffs of attacker and defender. If you attack someone with attack buffs that are very strong ( or have very good flat attack refines ) while having relatively weak defense and hp , I assume it is possible that your smaller layers can indeed sometimes die to counterattack, especially if troop type bonuses involved. For example: small ground layer with good flat attack refines ( but weak hp and defesne, because of debuffs for example ) attacks small mounted layer with even stronger flat attack refines ( but also weak defense and hp), this can lead to counterattack killing these ground troops. But I not sure about all this. The exact math and practical calculations isn't exactly easy to do. The whole idea of small layers dying to counterattacks seems abit off to me - mainly because that small layer should kill enough troops for the counterattack to actually being strong enough. Too much variables I guess. Derrik should know better I think, he is crazy enough for this lol.

      Yes. This was also my thought process because it works nearly exactly as you said. but I did notice that once troops got below a certain amount, the seemed to just die off. I will test this a but more, but it may just be Evony rounding numbers towards the end. Its worth looking into more. Another thing to think about with small layers is that they will easily die to traps and archer tower.

      Looked like Wick had the layers up, think it was 3-5% of march size and he did better vs small layers

    So. In your first example you said attacking siege never got to attack, but I think T13 actually did attack, but they hit Archer Tower, explaining how not only t14, but t13 also got no kills at all, except for counterattack kills. If you think about it - these mechanics make no fucking sense in the terms of medieval warfare. Also - if you have enough siege to one shot enemy siege layers ( apparently 10 million wasn't enough, lol ), this should ensure that solo siege attacks will not hurt you at all, although at this level of play people just do rallies anyway. Also - if you do siege attack with no subs, you will not have any debuffs, HOWEVER this is only relevant if you have actual good siege HP and defense debuffs in your sub cities, I hope this makes sense.

    • @DerrickDefies
      @DerrickDefies  8 місяців тому

      You are right, I should have mentioned the archer tower. I think I was interrupted and didn't finish the entire analysis. Defending T13 and T14 killed attacking T14 first turn. Then attacking T13 attacked AT. Then defending T13/T14 attacked the attacking T13 siege.
      10m siege was plenty, but in this case, the attacker sent his subs. They debuffed the defending siege down to 900% attack. They attacking siege had 2000% def and HP.
      If this defender had just a little better siege HP debuffs, or more siege, he could have won this battle quite easily.

      @@DerrickDefies Is there a general set up for defending siege layers that would help fight off solo siege attacks and not give away a lot of points?
