I love how he tried to put on his damp sock - it’s the small things that melt your heart
i love your videos! i learn so much about montessori, you make it so accessible
My 18 month old boy is just as cheeky! so cute! really helpful to see Montessori lifestyle whilst being relatable and realistic.
Thank you for this! I love this. I try really hard to have patience with my little one, but recently had been really hard. Thank you for giving me inspiration to try and redirect calmly and consistently
You're so welcome! Parenting can be tough, but you're doing an amazing job!!!🌟😊
Thank you so much for sharing ! I’ve only got the one child, but hang out a lot with other people’s children. My observation has been that girls seem more sensitive to please parents and tend to be calmer, while boys are a lot more physical - so enjoy loud noises, throwing things, ripping things etc. And testing boundaries/no’s
This is obviously not a hard and fast rule, I also know boys that are calm and compliant and girls that are physical and boundary-testers.
But I follow a lot of Montessori channels on social media and would get so disheartened that my little boy seemed so much more out of control than these Montessori babies. Then I realised that most of these channels are showing girls raised Montessori style, not boys - so adjusted my own expectations. Of course, there are channels with boys, but my perception is that there are fewer of those channels around
100% with you! I started my channel with my daughter, who is naturally calm and focused, making it so much easier to film activities. Now, with my son, things have definitely gotten more challenging, which is why I can't upload videos as often as I used to. 😅 Every child is different, and adjusting to their unique personalities is key!
Love that you keep in some of the more challenging moments, such a lovely video!
I love your videos. I have a 13 month old old son, who is also very interested in doing everything else besides taking my instructions but he’s also so funny and very happy. I have nothing to compare bc he’s my first but your videos help keep me positive and understand my son a little bit better 🤍
"Elijah's been using glass cups since he was around 6 months old, and now he's so gentle with them because he *understands the consequences*."
Wonderful tidbit. Be unafraid for your children to learn from accidents and mistakes.
You're such a good mother!
Love it! I have a 15 months old and it’s so re ensuring to see a similar toddler ( banging cutleries, getting involved wherever possible etc).
Also I love how you communicate with him. Very clear and without any violence. ❤
If you could share the name of the last song that would be amazing. Love it love it !
Thank you so much! The song at the end is called "Just One Kiss" by Adelyn Paik. Glad you enjoyed it!😊
You know what your video made me realize? Taking the damp clothes off the drying rack after hanging them is the exact same logic as putting the sticks back where they belong after putting them in the boxholes
Did Elijah go through a throwing food stage? If so, any tips?!
Yes, Elijah went through a phase of throwing food! I calmly redirected him, showing that food stays on the plate and took him outside after meals with something safe to throw, like a ball. With consistency, he eventually stopped! I think one of my videos actually deals with the issue I had with Elijah throwing food.
You mentioned how Elijah knows to be careful with glass cups. Does that mean you went through a few broken cups if he threw them or dropped them so now he knows to be careful? My daughter has broken a ceramic bowl before, so I’m afraid of introducing anything that can break. Like should I buy a few cheap ceramic cups that I don’t mind if they break it while still learning to be careful with them?
Yes! I always stayed close when Elijah used glass cups. If one broke, I’d quickly scoop him up and put him somewhere safe where he could watch me clean up. It taught him that glass can break, and when it does, everything has to stop. I was a bit nervous about him getting hurt, but honestly, the noise would freeze him for a second, so I had time to move him before he even thought about touching anything. www.ikea.com/au/en/p/pokal-snaps-glass-clear-glass-60137849/ These IKEA glasses are actually pretty sturdy! They might look fragile, but when they break, they tend to split into a few big pieces instead of shattering everywhere, which makes cleanup way easier. Hope this helps!❤

Thank you for being real. I love how you share that things aren’t perfect, but that it's okay not to be perfect and still be happy. Elijah seems like such a cheeky and sweet little boy!
He really is so cheeky 🤣
