Hi everyone, you can hear the new chimes at the following locations during the 3-month Pilot: NS Line Station: Orchard, Somerset, Dhoby Ghaut EW Line Stations and Trains: Tanah Merah, Expo, Changi Airport Circle Line Stations and Trains: Bayfront, Promenade, Nicoll Highway, Stadium
Yes Listen new chime Arrival Melodies at Orchard, Somerset, Dhoby ghaut, Tanah Merah, Expo and Changi Airport MRT Stations of North-South And East-West Lines.
Is damm irritating... There is already so much noise pollution around and some muppets want to add more. It doesn't help in anything except making ppl feel more annoyed.

Hopefully it will be used at all underground stations (including the NEL and DTL) one day, becoming like the Southeast Asia version to the Taiwan / Japan’s rail network
How come they only play the arrival melodies at the station, and the departure melodies are only inside the train? In Japan, they only play the melodies at the stations.
@@psgistheworstclubineurope simply put, what I am saying is: Singapore: Departure melody: inside the train Arrival medley: at the station Japan: Departure melody: at the station Arrival melody: at the station
The chimes inside the train are short chimes compared to the longer chimes played at the station platforms, hence it should not affect those sleeping in the train
@@SGYap The said chimes affect those who are trying to doze off in the trains. Imagine being shook up more than 30 times in an hour's journey while you try to sleep. They are surplus noise that are irritating if not disturbing.

If the 3 months pilot test is well received by the commenters, it is possible that it will be extended to more stations after the 3 months pilot test ends.
I do see there may be an issue when trains from both platform A and B arrive at the almost the same time. Also when it is rolled out eventually to all stations, it may be confusion for stations with more platforms like Jurong East.

feels like japan style. appreciate your effort in recording them !
You are welcome! It was refreshing to hear the new chimes when taking the train!
Singapore is slowly turning into Japan. And I love it
I enjoyed the new chimes too! It was nice to hear it personally inside the train or at the station.
And since the KHI and KNS trains are Japan made trains, makes sense for them to used it here
But the chime will last 3 months so next year you won’t hear these again…
まもなく、エクスポ、エクスポです。この電車はタナーメラーです。
@@LucarioKnightXhow come??! 😯🎁 R we returning back to the old MRT version of chimes, aren't we? 🇸🇬🦋💯
Wao such a clever way to adopt Japan public transportation system!
Hopefully it will be applied everywhere. As a result it is Christmas every day
Good thing that the old chime will be back after 3 months
bruh why
it's nice tho
I know but the old chime is far more iconic for Singaporean
3 months can be enough for something to grow on someone tho

I think you forgot a chime at expo station when there’s a train coming
Hopefully it will be used at all underground stations (including the NEL and DTL) one day, becoming like the Southeast Asia version to the Taiwan / Japan’s rail network
If 3-month pilot turned out well, it is possible it will be roll out to more stations or even the entire MRT network after the pilot run
Pls stop suggesting such useless stuff... Can't ppl have the peace while traveling on the already noisy train?
I love it
Platform A and B are the same chimes. I wish Malaysian trains and station have this 😁
I'm impressed it. Singapore implementing chimes like japan is nice change and brightens up the daily commute.
nice quite cool bruh...
Listening to the chimes makes me feel that im in a Korean subway or the Tokyo metro but i really like it.
Future
also dont forget melodies at CGL and CCL/CEL
That is a good suggestion! I will make one if I can find the time
I Hope Manila Subway will be the same
C151 is so tokyo jinggly
If only they can make the train station abit more colourful and not dark
It would be great
I hate it. I took a KNS C751B (325/326), and it had that new chime installed. It only reminded me of LTA destroying KHI, SIE, and KNS.

I will report and let it revert back to old chime

I do not understand your comment

Missing old chimes 😢
12k!!!!!!
Yes, 12k reached!!! Thank you for your strong support!!!
dont change it pls 💀
Just like the Tokyo subway but short of the meaningful origins of the tunes in relation to the location of the stops.
Mrtq
Japan is more slower Singapore one is more faster who loves Singapore❤

MRT should focus on a quieter MRT ride. Some people want to sleep in the train, especially if it's a 1 hour trip in the early morning.

@@awangbelantara9644 What you said is also true. It can be irritating for those taking a nap in the train especially for long journeys
any chimes for other lines (e.g. green line)?

It is kinda cringy.
