HOW MUCH Did We Spend In MINDANAO? WE WROTE DOWN EVERYTHING
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 лип 2024
- We wrote down everything we spent on our trip through Mindanao, we were shocked at how much we did actually spend but we are happy that we got to support tourism in a part of the Philippines that doesn't get as much international attention.
As we talk about in this video, travel in the Philippines can be done on a budget or you can end up spending a lot. We saved up for over a year and tried not to limit our choices too much, this cost breakdown is a reflection of that. We hope you find it useful.

Sacha, Jmayel, Story are a Vegan family currently living in the Philippines. Creating a peaceful vlog about travel, family and life.
You just accomplished a journey that ordinary Filipinos can't do in their lifetime. Congratulations, I am a big fan of your family for being so down to earth who can easily adjust to any cultural challenges that you faced during this journey. Again stay safe.
Yes, the reputation of Mindanao makes it really hard to travel to the island
Exactly 😁😁😁
@Frida Pavlaski
I can't believe I just gave you a thumbs up! But then, long time no see.
@@geordanelefante560 nice surname. Its unique
@@karlgeli9285 thanks
You had hit a jackpot with Junjun. A trusted driver, friend and tour guide. That P3,000 van rental was the 2nd jackpot. You have the van all to yourselves. That is a primary concern to have for a wonderful tour around the Philippines.
Thank you for including us, locals, on your Mindanao trip. It was awesome! 👍👍👍
Having a driver who is basically a tour guide, fixer, pt babysitter, and friend is invaluable in Mindanao for this type of journey. I have family in Iligan area and have never heard of many of the places you saw. Great trip and video
indeed, the van rental is far way low...
I enjoyed with u on ur cool mountain trip. I can't stand the heat, up there looks wonderful
This is probably the first vlog of its kind covering Northeastern Mindanao. Congratulations!!!
Not really, there's a lot. You can check Kulas for example, he has been doing it for years together with the Fighter boys.
$2626.13 American money, for 13 days is a bargain! Lol. I'm glad you folks had a good time. Keep making memories and bring us along for the ride! Can't wait to see what you have in store for us next time!
The total price seems pretty low to me. Considering all the places that you visited and cool places that you stayed and memories that you made. Thanks for taking us along, I really enjoyed this series....
Nothing beats a carefully planned itinerary, many tourists, local and foreign will find your blogs helpful in a lot of ways
True
Good for understanding just to concerned with people because my uncle they take to mindanao and he never come back no news at all they never find even body but he's friend also no contact at all no communication too few years already no news and what happened to them we never know
Giving tips to those locals who rendered you services was a nice gesture during this pandemic, since we all know they don’t earn much during this trying times. Above all, you got back home safe and sound.❤️
Why wouldn’t they get back “safe and sound “ ? I’m curious about your post …
@Frida Pavlaski excuse me they are not bragging they just gladly sharing the experience, whatever you discribed or call for all the vloggers, not only them, but hopefully you are not one.
This family love by filipino people ❤❤❤
@Frida Pavlaski certified hater. lol
ALL of that (food, accommodations, personal driver, tips, and antigen tests for 13 days for a family of 3 plus 1) for that price...id say that is AMAZING! Great planning and the experience was sure worth it, if we compare that to a western vacation for 13 days, you would need to budget triple the amount at least. Awesome informative video!
True..
I agree.
It helps that you guys are ‘highly-experienced’ travelers. Smart, polite and respectful guests are always welcome almost anywhere in the world.
Jay, the van rental was a bargain, considering that jun2x 's multi task role as a driver, tour guide, nanny, security officer, etc. Congrats guys for the well deserved adventure.
I got dizzy with the prices of food though. lol high end hotels and their food are quite expensive.
@@ylocoslovakia ya i agree hotel and accommodation is to expensive that is the price of nice place and delicious food 🤭👍
Totally agree.
You have done something worthwhile that not just anybody can do. The memories you have documented will forever be remembered and can be seen by future generations. Very extraordinary indeed. Congratulations 8mfh. I love everything that you have gone through. God bless you all always.
People always fear the unknown and now you've shown to the world that all those areas in Mindanao you've been to are quite safe! I've been to Davao, Zamboanga, Iligan City & Cagayan de Oro in Mindanao back in the '90s and they were safe! Good to know for the breakdown of your expenses, great vlog!
the important thing is that you enjoyed your adventure
You’re absolutely crazy my girlfriends best friend has a brother who is a lookout for foreigners and reports to ISIS and milf of your whereabouts it’s just a matter of time If you were a white foreigner you were at a deadly risk
Ya, safe. Over 300 terrorists killed by the Philippine military on Mindanao in the last six months. Ya, real safe. Not!
My wife is from the Philippines and even she says it's dangerous for white tourists they think because your are white you have lots of money. In fact a relative of ours is a scout ranger ( Philippine special forces )
even he says its a good place for tourists to get robbed even sometimes they have had police who delay the investigation because they are on the same side as the kidnapping rebels.
I live in Mindanao and the safe areas are in North to East, The Western parts are where most conflicts happen. There are still NPAs in the northeastern parts but they don't target white foreigners. They're communist rebels. Davao is safe although I can't be sure because years ago there were kidnappings of tourists in that region.
Thank you for introducing our land of mindanao to the world.... God bless you always...
Thanks a million to Mr Jun2x for taking care of this lovely family, it’s hard to find good driver like jun2x. I’m pretty sure he will get more clients after watching this video.
U guys are giver! There will be more overflowing, running over blessings to come.
For a family holiday adventure for almost 2 weeks , that total amount was not expensive at all . Glad that you're back home safe and sound and enjoyed your trip . We miss the sound of waves lapping on Siargao's beaches .
safe naman talaga dito sa Mindanao.
Mindanao is underrated due to insurgencies during 70s 80s a lot of foreign tourists and journalists were kidnapped for ransom. However this time is different it's safer and people are now happier to see more tourists coming to Mindanao
Mindanao is a big island. What bad news you see on TV labelled as Mindanao happens only is certain areas normally remote. You should travel the whole of Mindanao and you'll realize what you see on TV are just exaggeration...
@Frida Pavlaski what’s funny about the comment, DA?
Yes right, more safer, especially the kuratong guys is demolished ! Possibly they're the cause of kidnapping ! These group of gangs from Osamiz city
@@manoboexplorer3854 yes I agree, because i came from Mindanao, from zamboanga to Davao. Now we are leaving in Davao province..😍
That was reasonable considering everything included. A beach trip could quite easily cost more for the same amount of time. You will definitely have the opportunity to do cheaper holidays once your car is fixed.
Even though am from mindanao but I haven't been gone to these touristy beautiful places you'd been visited..Honestly I couldn't afford to experience such stunning places.. Your videos will give indeed so much impact for the tourism industry to these places and surely will help so much to their community.. Thank you so much for your adventures ,your efforts and financial extend it will really help boast and promote the industry in mindanao.. And Jun Jun gave his best as well, Tnx also.. Very informative video, always take care kind and lovely family..
Hayaan mo mararating din natin yan... pagkatapus ng pandemic buebuelo tayo ulit... pero tingi tingi lang hanga't sa makakaya lang ng budget...
That was a beautiful trip and many beautiful places to visit. Junjun is a good driver :)
8 miles from Home...amazing people! You’re the most down to earth family 🙏 And so so generous as well.
Though the trip didn't start well due to a loss of a family member, Eden, you enjoyed the entire trip and most important of all, you arrived safe and sound.
Your Mindanao tour was priceless, beautiful & lovely memories to look back on specially for Story. Try touring Davao City next time, guys. 🥰💜👍👏
I’m Filipino-Canadian and you make me miss home but also proud of my homeland. Most of all, I look forward to your vlogs and I am truly happy whenever there is one! Thank you for all that you do to promote the Philippines, and all the trust that you have to the Filipinos. May your beautiful family be blessed more. Stay safe and enjoy your wonderful journey 💜
the grass is always greener:)))
Wow! That is so cheap. The luxurious clamping alone is worthy. Thank you! I noted all these for my future adventure in Mindanao. Stay safe beautiful family
Very nice video guys. I've lived in Mindanao for many years. I've travelled it extensively and I can tell you that it is very safe. There have been some bad things happen with Abu Sayef, but the army is constantly chasing those guys. As for the NPA, the locals are WAY more afraid of them than I am. I've ridden my motorcycle deep into the mountains alone on many occasions. I've even had lunch with these guys. They don't care about foreigners - It's the government they're against. As for costs, considering your choices and the family factor, it's still pretty fair compared to a holiday in Europe. You guys did it in style. On a motorcycle with my GF, we could do it for 1/3 of that cost. Maybe less.
The price is reasonable. Hospitality; adventure; experiences and happy memories are priceless. And besides, Story's been dreaming of that glamping trip and strawberry picking - worth the price.❤💕
Wow, so detailed and informative. Nice recap of your Mindanao mainland adventure. God bless your family.
Thank you for helping our local economy and tourism right now. May your family be blessed forever. ❤️❤️❤️
Your 12 -day journey was the best! Thank you for showcasing the beauty of the places you visited. It promotes our country. I thank God for protecting your entire group!
It's great you spent the time doing this. As a former resident of Mindanao, I saw how misunderstood the place is, even by Filipinos who live in other areas. We have since moved to Bohol to the wonderful area of Anda, but I think of Mindanao as a very special place.
Don’t mind the expenses, as long your family super enjoys the adventure especially Story, the experience is worthy
Jun2 was really a great companion during your mindanao travel... You are now family to him for sure in his heart...❤
Considering the experience and the memories you got, that price is very very reasonable. I would even consider it cheap. Travel to other places/islands in the Philippines.
@Frida Pavlaski
Our pleasure! And thank you for contributing a bit. Your viewing and commenting helps, you know?
@Frida Pavlaski
LMFAO
@Frida Pavlaski it's good for promoting Mindanao tourism duh, they don't have more subscribers, likes and comments unlike Ivanna, Alex Gonzaga got million of views just showing nonsense mukbang and pranks 🙄 .
Oh wow! I actually expected more, you guys!! That’s so good. Thanks for being open to share this with us. Now, I know it’s not too expensive to travel for 12 days in Mindanao!! 🎉☀️🥂🇵🇭
A massive thank you for supporting the Philippines tourism and for taking us with you on your journey to Mindanao. Can't wait to explore the south!!!!!!!!!
Living abroad and seeing non-Filipinos enjoying the motherland, makes me envious and shames me even because I haven't extensively traveled the Philippines and appreciate everything that it has to offer. Thank you for showing us your joys in Mindanao (and other parts of the Philippines). Hopefully, many Filipinos will take the time to travel like what you've done and not be strangers in our own home country.
For comparison, the total amount you paid Junjun including tip for the entire trip was even cheaper than what we paid for a 7 person, 8-hour private day tour (van+driver only) from Tokyo to Mt. Fuji :)
why compare with one of the most expensive place on earth?
For comparison a dude showed me around Detroit for a six pack.
Very informative. Thanks for helping the economy of Mindanao keep going in your own little (& big) ways. Love from Mindanao.
Amazing Adventure indeed, I enjoyed watching your whole trip to Mindanao, thank you once again, more Blessings to Eight Miles ,Good morning from Canada and Good night Philippines
Pretty reasonable price for 13 days for a family of 3 with a tour guide. Thanks for sharing.
Well worth it.
OFW here. Remember went home in 2008 for 2 weeks and stayed at home with family, the spent 200k already. All food expenses was on me.
Your expenses was better.
Thank you for sharing these memories not just for us now but for future generations in so many years to come. What you have spent is reasonable enough and its just money which you can again save anytime. Be safe and take good care of yourselves always. We Filipinos love you 8mfh.
Pretty reasonable price from Junjun. He's a good guy
Agree P3k/day
I beg to disagree 3k/day is a rubout. The couple even paid for the gas and his meal. He took 20% of the total cost of the whole trip. He won’t have many future clients with this reveal
@@Vonneti hours and hours on the road driving and even serving as a tour guide, using his own van... 3k per day mahal pa sayo? Magkano po ba ang tingin niyong dapat ibayad sa tao?
@@Vonneti that is the standard van rental in bohol and leyte. Ang barat naman ng bigayan sa inyo kung mas mababa pa dyan.
@@Vonneti You're cheap and a slavedriver. It's good Junjun was their private tour guide/tour planner/driver/van rental provider (wear and tear)/security/interpreter/child sitter--and not you.
We are lucky this are the 1st time to see in you tube , some tourist coming to mindanao
When covid census controlled in Davao , try also where Kumander Daot ( English vlogger) recently visited . The majestic lakes & Badjao tribes villages.
3k for van is fair & cheap , good for you.
so nice philippines view
Woah. 3k for several days! Thats so cheap
@@Top5_Pilipinas 3k per day x 10 days + 6k fuel + other expense on the driver like lodge i think they spent around 50k
3k per day is too much, they were taken advantage of and to think that they're supposed to be friends. Well that's just me, maybe Junjun also rented the van. But if the van is his, that was highway robbery
@@Vonneti I am fully dissagree with u. That kind of trip was so cheap already. I've been in vacation before the pandemic it cost me there almost 400k for my family of 4 in just a week. Your such a loser talking a rubout with Junjun. You are a pathetic. You don't know anything. They explain well the expenses of their journey and everything so please stop that nonsense comments here.
Thank you for making this journey that even some of us Filipinos could dare not do. This is really an eye opener for us having been away from our country for decades. You made us proud and emotional that our country has gone so far in being a great tourist spot. Kudos to your family. Pls also send our regards and thanks to Junjun for being the epitome of a friendly and trustworthy tour guide. We hope that foreigners will see that Filipinos are good people. Take care always and kisses to Story. When we are able to go home we would like to meet you personally and offer you some gifts from USA. I AM PROUD TO BE A FILIPINO.
That amount, for 13 days, is a lot less than what a filipino family would spend on their vacation.
My sister and her two children spent almost double that for just 8 days in Australia. And they stayed at our elder brother's house most of the time!
I didn't bother to ask how much she paid vacationing in the states, visiting our two other siblings there for almost a month!
I am so happy, this beautiful family enjoyed and back home safe. Story, I prayed for your safety🙏❤⚘
Actually very reasonable for all the fun and experience, priceless really
Thank you for trailblazing for many of us. I'm happy that you thoroughly enjoyed this trip! Stay safe!
Great recap video! Thank you all for sharing with us.
To have a good personal driver , hospitality, kindness , stunning service from all the crew everywhere you visit , especially the food catered for is absolutely worth it.
The best video log I’ve ever watched!!! It is detailed, glamorous, interactive and informative.
I am so jealous been there for few days but never had the chance to see those scenic spots and resorts. Yes, it is safe and people are so friendly. I will ask junjun to drive for us too next time. Stay safe! 😘
Wow, the cost wasn’t at all expensive considering everything your family did. I so envy you guys for having the courage to where most people are afraid to go. I wouldn’t mind paying that much for the experience to see the beauty of the Philippines. Thanks for another great video
That was a great series,,hope to see more travel vlogs from you!
For that experience and Jun Jun's expertise I would say that the final cost was extremely good value for money.
Just the fun n smile that Story had through out that journey is already priceless. 😍😍😍
your cost has no match for story smile and memories to treasure 🤙🙏
I love the mountain house you'd stay very natural and cozy..in bukidnon.. Love to stay there someday.
WOW...we are all so privileged to be travelling with you guys! Honestly, we the locals wouldn't experience such a comprehensive (actually, in a nutshell) tour of so many amazing places--interesting and breathtaking sceneries--if not for you. I've been to Cagayan de Oro (w/a big group) and spent quite a memorable 3 days in a beautiful private beach resort (Duka beach) and had toured many spots. Money-wise, total cost which covered all the places you went for 13 days (inclg. accommodation, transportation, driver/guides, meals) is quite reasonable for 3 people + 1 (your personal driver going along w/ you). It was all worth it...as you've said, it's overall the wonderful experience--(quite rare) and a great opportunity doing this during pandemic times. Thank you very much for sharing this amazing tour and journey you had in Mindanao. Looking forward to seeing more of your new finds and discoveries. God bless you all!
Junjun is a very good man, ur so blessed for having him in ur short journey
The price is reasonable because you have a good transportation. Although there are other places to stay overnight that are much more affordable in Butuan City. Plus, the fact that you travelled during a pandemic when not all of us could do.
What a lovely adventure and thank GOD all of you are safe!....always exited for your vlog.
Subscribed and liked to help you with expenses. Thank you for promoting my home island of Mindanao! :)
So worth it! Thanks for these detailed breakdown, can't wait to have a road trip like that 😊😊
Teary eyes here, mixed emotion watching the journey. Appreciating everything makes this video very stunning. Wishing more people like you are with a wonderful heart, it's not only the places you went through but it's the love and kindness you give to our brothers out there making the trip possible....Thank you for your LOVE to the Philippines.enjoy and have a wonderful trip all the way...
This vlog is very informative and made me feel like i travelled with your family the whole time.❤️
Thank you very much for the information. I'm very happy that you've enjoyed your vacation.
Awesome!!! I'd love to visit the places you've been to, too! Thanks much for sharing your Mindanao trip! God bless!
What an enjoyable journey of a lifetime! Enjoyed watching u as well. Thanks for d great itinerary.
Nice to see you guys back home safe and sound❤️
Wow! That was a beautiful adventure you had there in your mindanao journey. So worth the travel experiences and expenses. You are so blessed guys. Why don't you try exploring the whole Siargao and you will find more exciting places there. Stay safe always. 🤗🤗🤗
What an amazing adventure! Glad you enjoyed the travel, your family deserves the breather. The cost was worth it. Thank you for sharing the beauty of Mindanao.

More adventures to come! Enjoy and stay safe guys!
i love this disclosure.. so transparent and informative.. very useful for other travelers.. well done!
It was quite a deal for a 12-day trip. Everything was worth it.
Story literally gets the best education in life. Which is hands-on education. Most children in the western world, only gets to see the same stuff Story sees, through the internet, reading materials, photos, and videos. Lucky to be Story...
Watching this made me feel like I was with you guys on the trip. Enjoyed watching this. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for touring us around Northern Mindanao through your vlog. Exciting to watch your videos!
Yes finally u have upload im always waiting ur upload..miss u 8miles from home
