the only way to record the points of interest with a camera was to remove it all. if you can squeeze you hands and tools in there to do the steps without taking the bumper off then that is obviously fine.
I just turned my wheel to expose the front wheel well, removed the wheel well "cover", unplugged the cables, and with a bit of contortion it was super easy. Look at reviews of the original part on Amazon for my pictures and another guy's video.
Thanks for the video. Despite other comments I think the clarity you show is great. I am not a mechanic so showing the whole front of the car revealed really helped me to do the job. many thanks - and for sure the plastic clips on any of these car bits are always a f**kin pain!!! Thanks again.
All you had to do was remove the fog surround from the front using a butter knife wrapped in a thin cloth. There you can get to the two screws to change the light. One side just took me 10 minutes and no need for the verbal abomination of Ford either! Lulz...!
Yeah I here you man it’s frustrating even just repairing broken bulb , i scratched body panel and my hands just trying to replace regular oem fog light with led . I cant imagine going true the hole bumper to loose just to unscrew few bolts. My other car VW Tiguan super simple repair done in less then 5 min per fog assembly
Note: Commenting on video as it relates to my 2014 Ford Focus Titanium. - This video was excellent to demonstrate how to remove the front grille. The ‘14 Ti doesn’t have the accent pieces so you just remove the grill and then replace the fog lamp ass’y. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Steps in removing the grille were exactly as described.
@@FatGuyBuilds I use your lines from this video each time I encounter another engineering marvel on my Focus ST. I am currently troubleshooting a mystery AC problem and I am afraid that the fix will be replacing some sensor that only a jackass would design.
Ugh those effin' clips!! And what a pain to have to take off the damn bumper just to replace a fog lamp! I already did this once and just recently had a rock shatter one of my lamps. #facepalm It was the passenger side and luckily I just realized you CAN get to it without removing the bumper. Remove the 10mm bolt for the horn assembly and you can access the back of the fog insert unobstructed! 25 minute job (15 spent on damn clips!)
Bought those same two fog lights on Ebay for about 10 bucks each. Not OEM but they look the same. Wouldn't be surprised if OEM didn't come from the same factory.
Thanks for the Video. I didn't learn $h*t as i was laying in bed next to my snor... i mean "sleeping" wife. Had the sound way down, but i could still tell when he was getting pissed. 😆
The design is horrid that it requires the removal of that trim piece from the front and access to the rear. Ford should have just mounted it from the rear. That being said, I was able to remove the trim piece without removing the bumper. Keeping the bumper on might have actually helped. I used a trim removal tool and wedged it between the bumper and trim, then pushed the tabs one by one. I wouldn't have known the orientation of those tabs without this video and would have thought the pushed away from the trim instead of inward. Good video as it helped with some of the gotchas for doing this repair. After removing the under trays this job took about 15 minutes.
So I watched your video, and laughed at how angry you got. Then I tried to do it myself. Bro, you didn’t curse enough! That sucked! Your video did help me though, so thank you for your frustration.
it was easier to show the points of interest on a camera if the shit is visible. if you can get to the points of interest without taking the bumper off then that is good. but the video would have been trash without taking the bumper off.
Autonation Ford in Jacksonville Florida wanted to charge me $150 for the same replacement you have there. I got them to sell it to me for half that. Still a rip-off
I know this is years old, but, no need to pay $70.00 each for this part #; Autonation Ford White Bear Lake sells them for $39.54 which is the price he quoted for just the bulb.
My 2013 has a little grill around the light. I didn't have to take the bumper off replacing the passenger side fog light, but there is literally a plastic cage around the light assembly forcing you to replace the entire front bumper. However, I cut out around the cage, took out the lamp and epoxy putty the entire new lamp back in place. The infiniti dealer wanted over $500 to replace the bumper and lamp. It's a scam.
He said in gramps episode 10 or so that anyone who purchases his music can use it. I bought it on iTunes. so I get to use it. He was talking about how some many people ask him if they can use his stuff then he said go ahead as long as you buy it. Once again, I don't feel it is right to use much more than 10-15 seconds of the song even if you bought it. either way it falls under fair use the way I make my videos. I hope I answered your question fully. thanks, please check out JaySkiGaming my other channel for gaming.
the fog light housings come out of the front of the bumper. they do not slide out the back. so to show people how to unclip everything, it was easier to work on with the whole bumper off.
Uhh all you had to do was use a jack, lift up the wheel. Remove the inside cover and swap out the assembly and reattach. This is incredibly unnecessary and excessive.
you have to pull off that front black plastic to unscrew the foglight housing. you cant remove the foglight housing without taking that front plastic off. i did it the way i did so it would be easier to see and understand.
Silicone spray and pry on the tabs on the bumper against the fog light housing on the back of the bumper. Use a flat head and a hammer to chisel as the tabs that hold it in place, the bumper has more give than the plastic fog light housing. Literally racking my brain trying to do the same thing. Used car at a shop. Got out easy but it was difficult at first. I agree, fucking stupid ass Ford!! Lol
Please anybody watching this video do not take all this apart literally 90% of the stuff he shows you does not need to be removed
So how?

how do you record a video doing your method. also it would require 6 butter knifes. Are you crazy ? my sexy wife would kill me if i did that!
get a stand for a phone or camera...they like $10

@ZombieZig You are showing/working on a completely different model than what he's working on here, thus the attachments are no where near the same.

Mazda and the focus uses the same design on the coolant reservoir too, brutal to get out to change motor mount.
