Eh, not really a fan and I have tried it. I am not loyal to any brand, so I guess I'm a traditional bottle drinker. I like trying different wines whenever I go to my local liquor store. I have some "loyalty" to Wollersheim or Door County wines because I know they taste good. Took a trip to Door County and came home with over 50 bottles. It was a fun trip.
I usually use wine for cooking. I’ll brown a roast for 8 minutes on each side, then remove it and add a few tablespoons of red wine to scour the pot. Then I’ll add some Worcestershire sauce and use the mixture to sautee onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, and garlic before replacing the roast , covering, and letting it cook on medium heat for an hour.
I’m in Ontario, Canada and everything is pretty strictly controlled by the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) so it’s hard to find cheap wine. Even most of our boxed wine is a little over $40 for 4 litres. But there’s an independent wine store called Magnotta and you can get a 16l box of wine for about $115 depending on your wine preference. I will never be too good to spend that little on wine😂 that’s really about as cheap as it gets here, sales on booze aren’t really a thing beyond a few cents or $1, maybe $2 off the really expensive stuff.
I've never seen anyone drink wine from a box here in the UK or in Europe. I'm sure we have them, but they're not prevalent over here. We can get good quality wines at reasonable prices having France next door :)
personally I've found to prefer some of the cheaper wines. They are sweat and end up being like alcoholic grape juice. I could sit there and drink those all day.
Here in Argentina we have a very big wine and wine-making culture, but I think wine boxes never caught on very much. I think there's only 2 brands left, and the wine itself is in Tetrapack-styled box, but they have always been associated with lower classes, though ironically the boxed wines are a little more expensive that some bottled ones. My late grandfather, who came from Italy, actually preferred boxed wine. There's also the stereotype that some not so classy people mix boxed wine with orange soda (either Fanta or Mirinda) or orange-flavored Tang, Clight or Zuko

Just be careful that you don't take it too far like I did. Now I abstain, but I will sing the praises of the many boxes that were always welcome alongside my rack of more elegant and expensive choices. Delicious wine across the spectrum of affordability. Enjoy responsibly so you can grow old enjoying the whole time! Cheers everyone, great video!
Every time I've ever drank wine it tasted extremely bad. Like, it's easily one of the worst tasting substances on Earth to me! Only thing worse is hard liquor. So, I decided it wasn't worth the effort to "acquire" the taste for wine.
I was gonna get a box of franzia tonight but at $20 a box i went with 2 magnums of oak leaf..When i started drinkijng franzia it was $14 a box but now at $20 a box its no longer an affordable wine
as a person that grew up and lives in in Ripon, and that has also worked at franzia. thank you for pronouncing the town's name correctly
I've been drinking Franzia sunset blush or white zinfandel for over 20 years, in fact, I have a glass of sunset blush sitting next to me right now. 🙂
I'd like to see a video about the growth of legal marijuana industry. It's illegal roots and cultivation, sells, and development of the various strains available in the U.S. market. Like alcohol, it possesses an enjoyed psychoactive chemical, previously illegal.
That box has gotten me through so many exams, boyfriends, and new years.
Used to drink these as a teen in the early 90s. Mad dog 20/20 also. 🤮
History of Bum Wines next?
😂 In the 90's we called l these "space bags'. For example:
Dude, where y'all going?
To the Ivy! We got a space bag!
Boxed wine is awesome!
I am not much of a wine person. When I drink I usually prefer Guinness, Harp, Magner's cider, Bailey's, or a good Irish whiskey.
Okie dokie alkie
@@alanuribe6159 I usually only have one drink and then that is once a month.
All box wines that I have tried have tasted very cheap and just not good
How about a video on the history of Squeeze-its vs hi-c?
From sheep skins to plastic bags, progress goes boink!
GOON BAG
To be fair, it’s bagged wine in a box.
Nothing better than a little cardboardeaux.
Definitely some college stories involving boxed wine for me and my friends…good times
In Australia It wasn’t long before you could buy a very nice wine in a cask - of course they still had the plonk like Franzia.
Those bags probably create a lot of waste.
A+ video!
Fascinating history, amazing topic!
Boxed wine reminds me of the tag line from the 70s-80s 7up commercial - "Never had it, never will."
Oh dear God... my Grandmother had herself a few glasses of boxed wine every night. 😂
I've never seen anyone drink wine from a box here in the UK or in Europe. I'm sure we have them, but they're not prevalent over here. We can get good quality wines at reasonable prices having France next door :)
Nighthawk black or botabox redvolution are my favorites. I’ll buy a bottle and get disappointed and go back to my box lol
personally I've found to prefer some of the cheaper wines. They are sweat and end up being like alcoholic grape juice. I could sit there and drink those all day.
Goon as in Flagon which is a bag or container to hold liquid originally 2 imperial pints.
In Spain they will sometimes mix Fanta lemon and red wine. It's called tinto de verano. Summer red
it tastes like plastic
my dad gets black box all the time. I've always seen it as trash hick wine but I've not actually tried it...
