@@technodan yah that’s how I use to shift. Like a manual. Let off shift and back on power. Now with modifications and tuning I am able to just stay in D and it will shift
@BulliKid Nice! I have a translation shift kit I'd like to throw in at some point and maybe a torque converter but for now gonna leave everything stock besides the fluid and cooler
I'll be getting this car out and about for some better overview and discussion on plans. Plan for the channel however is to do how -tos relating to modifying cars and maybe some car audio stuff peppered in there. looking forward to making more !
hey man, amazing setup you have there. have a 07 manual trying to make it faster and i’m trying to find what i should do first. looking to add hp but not really sure where to start i was hoping to have a turbo toward the end of my process.
ive been searching for a turbo auto build and im glad i came across you. i would love to pick your brain but im not 100% fully mechanical on my car only done some bolt on mods and basic maintenance. my question to you is… is it even possible to run a turbo on a auto and keep its reliability. im a college student i have to drive 2-3 hours 2/7 days a week to get to class. would love to hear ur input
Hey there, kind of a long response lol but here it is: I would say that like with any heavy mods, if you're goal is reliability doing a turbo set up may not be the best option at this point. I can relate because this is the car I had partly through college, and I waited to really tear into it untili relied on it a bit less. For me, I had some unlucky experiences with blowby and eventually damaging the engine due to a fuel problem and then with a tune problem. This is my experience but I would reach out to Chris Kao on IG or FB and he can also speak to his turbo 05 auto, I think he dailyed his with no issue. (I can DM info) As far as the trans holding up, doing the external cooler is a must and upgrade the fluid. That's it. using manual shift in power is good too, and it should hold up. I have seen posts on reddit of guys pushing nearly 500 in an auto setup. At the end of the day I think if you really can't live without boost then there is a way to go about boosting the car that makes it more prone to be reliable (compression and leakdown test the engine, good turbo, injectors, tuner, etc) but even still you kind of have to live with the possibility that your motor might go poof because with any power mods that's just how it is as I'm sure you know. P.S. My personal opinion would be to start with getting a Hondata flashpro, doing the ecu swap (if youvhave 04-06) and do some bolt on parts ( intake , intake manifold, exhaust) and you'll be suprised how much the flashpro reflash wakes the car up. That's what I did starting out !
@@technodan thanks man, ive always wanted to make more power to my tsx but i need the car to be reliable maybe after i finish college ill look more into a turbo but ill stick with your suggestion for refreshing and cleaning up my car. ty man also ive hit up chris b4 awesome dude. hope to see more of your content :)
I recently woke up my tsx with a cold air intake and a cat back exhaust I really want to do the turbo please let me know what transmission cooler you used because I know the engine can take it all day long but those 5 speed autos can’t handle much what trans fluid did u use aswell I want to beef up the trans as much as I can before I turbo it
Dood this video is what I needed I have a 08 tsx 5 speed auto with decently low miles 125k and I was always scared to turbo it fearing the transmission would give out if I can boost it and make 280 to the crank with just adding a transmission cooler I might actually do this I’m just worried about reliability
I have an 05 so for 04-05 you need an 07-08 ecu with the CANBUS adapter (from dash to obd2). For an auto I believe you need an auto ecu and for manual you can use either but loose reverse lockout if you use automatic 07/08 ecu
I just disconnected the feed to the radiator and ran new hose to thr cooler and then plumped the return from the cooler back to the radiator. It's inline with the radiator connections
I just bought this car 2 weeks ago, it's a beautiful machine.
Hell yeah, enjoy it !
How is it so far ?
Awesome! I run a turbo civic 2007 automatic. How is your trans holding up. Any issues or shifting problems.
No issues so far. granted only have about 1500miles on the setup . But it takes the power good just gotta left off between shifts (manual mode)

Love the idea of the navy PC on the calipers
I think it'll really compliment the color scheme.
Thinking of doing my 06 TSX . To give to my son eventually if he gets his shit together.
Sweet! They are great cars to mod imo. I don't even care about the weight of the car it's still fun as hell
Niceeee TSX Bro, planning on Turbo'ing my 05 Auto 💯💪🏾Happy New Year
Thanks man! and that's awesome! Definitely recommend!!

Are you looking to sell this car?
for your ECU on the automatic what else did you have to do other than buying flashpro

Can this bosst kit work in the 06 tsx
Need to upgrade the oil pump!
I thought about it but I'm not getting into high rpm, trying out some thicker weight oil to help with heat
How did you run the lines for your trans cooler?
I just disconnected the feed to the radiator and ran new hose to thr cooler and then plumped the return from the cooler back to the radiator. It's inline with the radiator connections
Howzit man..what management are you running?
Hondata flashpro with an 07-08 ecu
hondata flashpro with an 07 ecu
Thanks man..has the auto been holding up?
Where did you get the valve cover
Ktuned - I bought it off FB marketplace. The guy had a custom powder coat done.
Piping needs to be bigger , 6 speed would keep up with the power
Do you mean the intercooler piping? If I was going past 500hp go up to 3", it's 2.5" now
Did you have to remove the strut bar to fit things in there? I see that it's gone
It fits, I just haven't pit it back. I did modify it and cut off the part that tucks under the windshield to get it to fit easier
