Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer action/horror game where one player takes on the role of a brutal Killer and the other four play as Survivors. As a Killer your goal is to sacrifice as many Survivors as possible. As Survivors your goal is to work together to evade, escape, and most importantly - stay alive.

He's here for his own machinations. And the only reason you're being sacrificed to the entity by him is purely for his own entertainment.
I imagine part of it is also he wants to use the entity, but since it could squish him if it so chose, he probbaly also obeys it

A little detail I love about Vecna, is that the entity seems to give him a greater degree of respect as a fellow god. In the trailer he is not called The Litch or The Undead King, he is called by his full true name, as if he was most of a guest than a subject

For all he known, Maimed One was one of Vecna's aliases
While I like this idea, this is the case for just about every licensed killer in their respective trailers. The only exceptions are Pyramid Head and Amanda Young, who are presented as The Executioner and The Pig as opposed to their actual names, respectively. Every other licensed killer is presented with their actual name in the trailer. Vecna is not the first. But hey, perhaps your idea could be applied to those licensed killers as well, at least in some way!
Vecna: "so I'm here to torment and make suffer these..."
The Entity: "Humans I find it fun to torment."
Vecna: "Right. I can get behind that. Let me just conjure up a horde of skeletons and-"
The Entity: "That's not giving them a fair chance. They need to first have hope so we can crush it."

The funny thing is, this is NOT the first time that Vecna has been kidnapped by a mysterious, shadowy god-like being and trapped in a tailor-made shadow hell for said Dark Gods amusement.
Probably won’t be the last time he broke free on his own power, either.
It'd be kinda funny if the license ever got removed, bhvr would just say that "yeah he just dipped. He got bored and left the entity's realm."
No dwarf survivor that's going in the book
A dwarf would be too strong, that's why the Entity has to settle with a *knife-ear*.
Probably for hitbox-related reasons. Dwarves are generally a fair bit shorter than other humanoid races, only really beat by Halflings and their variants in this regard. Smaller person means smaller hitbox, which means a potential gameplay advantage.
I’m super curious about their perks because it looks like they have huge trolling potential from what I’ve seen. Being able to make a fake illusion of a survivor on a gen?? Sounds hella fun for a perk lmao.

this map is going to be one of my favorites if we have the dungeon and the outside
I feel like this is will be a mix of both the outside and the inside or many escaping the dungeon to get outside

After seeing the map, I'm sooo glad most of it is in the dungeon, I'm very happy for it
Something i kinda wish with this as i hoped with the alien chapter is for a fully inside map, Like how alien couldve just been stuck inside the crashed ship and youre trying to get it open to get out, cause it feels right with the feel of the Alien. Maybe this one will be a big spooky dungeon we would be trying to get out of. Yeh i know people are not the biggest fans of closed maps buuut... Scratched mirror myers is always a fun rush

During his 1000 years of Lich reign in the Valley of Sheldomar, he sought to conquer the City of Fleeth with his own army of dark mages.... but was nearly killed by the god of light Pholtus, costing him an Eye and Hand
In the midst of the war.... He was eventually killed by a magic sword created by him and now named after the betraying lieutenant that killed Vecna with it: Kas the Bloody-Handed
But with the help of a cult returning him to the world of Greyhawk on the planet of Oerth, he's broken free from his prison known as the demiplane of Dread and looks to shake the very cosmos while seeking a place in the planet's Pantheon......

Anything God or God adjacent actually considering you an enemy is when the instinct "If even half of us survive the first encounter, that's a win." Kicks in.
In our (grimhollow, so we were all evil bastards) campaign we killed vecna, the Lovecraftian god Hastur (because we kept killing physical threats so the DM threw a mental threat at us, didn't work) Asmodeus and more, they all died over the course of 4 irl years as we were too powerful.
The voice Matt uses for DBD Vecna is the same voice he uses for Vecna in Campaign 1 of Critical Role (without the voice effects, of course) and it's so dope.

there are mimic chests apparently, they try to eat you.
Ther are chest mimics. They're made from special chest that spawn around the map and have magic items inside. To find magic items you roll d20. On a nat1 chest transforms into a mimic. On a 2 to (I think) 5 u get mundane item, on 6-19 it's magic items, on nat20 is eye or hand of vecna
I think vecna might be the most powerful being the entity has ever wrestled into its realm vecna is like a immensely powerful deity who can travel between the multiverse of dnd yet our personal eldritch spider boy got him in his realm
Vecna probably isn't even there against his will. Considering who he is, he's probably just there of his own volition and could leave at any time.

First off, having Matt Mercer VA for Vecna is fucking lit. Second, the fact that this trailer takes place in the remains of the Obsidian Tower (the Base of the Circle Of Eight in Greyhawk that Vecna seized control of) is so great, glad they did their homework

I haven't been on the game in a while. But I heard Knight was Kill switched for some reason. Not sure if they fixed him or not since I haven't been on it forever. Did they ever change anything about him? Or is he still the shitty F tier killer?

To be fair, D&D is not specific to any one genre and even it's official medieval fantasy offerings can get quite dark depending on the DM's discretion.

Violence, Intimidation, Gore and like y’know the brutal ways the characters can show their sadistic side… We haven’t gotten a Cryomancer killer yet soooooo…

Alien is my favorite franchise ever but xeno's have baked release on here was underwhelming. What a waste of the license.
According to the roadmap they posted there is a solo licensed survivor in between the DnD and Castlevania chapters so I wonder who the solo license survivor is? I do have a couple guesses/hopes though.

Well there's a crossover I didn't expect.
Lore wise. 🤣The Entity is probably making a _big_ mistake associating with Vecna if we're assuming Vecna's channeling his power through himself and not from the Entity. The Entity has invited the closest thing to a God (so far) into it's domain; hopefully it knows what its doing.
Cenobites are also kinda sus and the Pyramidhead is a literal incarnation of divine punishment (ok, maybe a person's self-reflection of deserving a divine punishment but still)
I meanDbd is a better world universe to live than dnd because everywhere is dangerous so the survivors is better in the realm of dbd or maybe there both bad but one is better than the other right.
Dbd is eternal suffering until you become a shallow emotionless husk and are thrown into the void at least in D&D there’s freedom to a degree

One thing that most people haven’t realised is that the killers name is vecna, not “the” vecna unless in game, he is actually called the vecna, then this is the first killer who’s name doesn’t start with “the”

That would be extremely convenient timing since D&D is celebrating their 50 year anniversary this month with a new Vecna module. This was probably always the plan, with how difficult Netflix is to work with I doubt Behavior would begin work on another ST chapter.
St Vecna has basically no relation to D&D Vecna, so that's very unlikely.
@@Aki...544Did you follow DBD in the year 2022? There were several rumors that ST Vecna would come but due to Netflix it never happened. I don't rule out this possibility and I believe that DnD Vecna is only in the game because of the hype that was season 4 of Stranger Things
