An emotional moment towards the end of the movie for me.
Seeing the elder Robert Stack play Eliot Ness 30 years after the legendary TV series brought back my own life time memories of watching him the play the role in awe 35 years ago.
Growing up as a child watching gangster movies, every kid in our neighbourhood loved the role of the gangster.
I pretended to be Eliot Ness
Thank you Robert Stack and thank you to the real Eliot Ness for the great memories 🙏

I have to share with ya'll. Mom born 1920's looked so much like Robert Stack (mostly hair) Plus, Judge Judy look alike and The Queen of England Queen Elizabeth. Mom born in Scotland. Us five kids bought her a wig for a Christmas present in exactly the same style, cut and the same color!! circa mid 70's Mom was the best we also bought her a family ring. RIP Mom

Very good movie !! Highly underrated.
RIP Phil Bosco, one of the best comedic actors, ever, without even trying to be funny. Truly one of the hardest arts to master for an actor.
RIP Robert Stack, truly one of the best actors to grace the silver screens. He WAS, in every way, Elliot Ness !
RIP Charles Durning, one of the best supporting actors ever ! Every character he ever played was made very believable. Truly the mark of a great actor.

I loved watching the series, The Untouchables, when it first aired on TV in 1959. I was just a child then, but enjoyed watching it with my parents. Robert Stack was Eliot Ness back then as well, so he'd aged really well as he was born in 1919 and died in 2003, so he was 72 when this film was made in 1991. Would have given this a "like" were it not for all the ads.

As a lover of gangster movies the Untouchables was one of the few true to life TV shows. The producers of the show got actors that look almost identical to the actual person. Prohibition & bootleg booze was what Ness & the untouchables were out to stop. Gambling , racketeering & prostitution was part of this era in history. My mother told me about shoot outs, cars blown up & gangsters & hitmen coming into her restaurant in the 1930's. She lived through these very few years of prohibition. We would watch that TV show together & she would say "that's just the way it was" Al Capone was sent to prison by Eliot Ness for income tax evasion. He never expected that.

“The Return of Eliot Ness” is that rarity - a well-made TV movie, every bit as good as a feature film. The timing was good, too, with a revival of interest in Ness after the big-screen “Untouchables.” Robert Stack was in his seventies and still in good form. Add to that a fine supporting cast, including the distinguished stage actor Philip Bosco. (“Roses” Molto, great character!) The costumes, production design, and music were also top-notch. I’ve enjoyed this film more than once.

Great movie! I am sure Sean Connery watched Robert Stack again and again before shooting Untouchables
    Respect to both great actors!

Excellent movie with a great cast. Script was a tad corny, but it worked. Loved the old cars and the costumes. They even took pains with realistic old buildings, movie theaters, and hotels. No foul language, no nudity, and the sex scenes were PG. And like one commenter wrote - this era had class. Well done.

Great movie ,loved every minute of it . I used to watch the untouchables every time it was on . That was the time of good T.V unlike now with all the " reality " garbage like X Factor

Great to see Robert Stack return to the role that made him famous. As the host of "Unsolved Mysteries," Stack profiled Ness in his later years in Cleveland and the one case that he could not solve.

I Loved “ELLIOT NES” the series that was on TV!! It was the best series running at the time ❤ I also enjoyed the movie that was made, untouchables. Only really missed Robert Stack playing Elliot Ness! My favorite character in that movie was Sean Connery 💕🙏🙏🙏

Bobby is a real tough guy….a young foolish upstart.
I enjoyed his performance in this rather pedestrian plot.
    He has a neat swagger.
    Love the cars.
    Thanks for this.

More than half a century ago I watched "The untouchables" every week on TV in Japan with Japanese dubbing.
Only thing I remember is Eliot Ness's widow telling the reporter Robert Stack is very much alike real Eliot Ness.

Robert Stack was accused of, basically, under-acting when the original tv series aired, but I always saw him as more modern in style: Acting began to grow more underplayed, less obvious in expressing emotion (ie more subtle).
He looks pretty darn good, considering how long after the original tv series---which I watched at the time---this was made. (But where's Youngfellow? Lee? and the others?...well, I'm only half an hour in, so maybe they show up eventually.)
