Love, love, love Robert Stack❤ i can't get enough of the Untouchables with Elliott Ness and anything with Robert Stack. Thank you so very much for posting. Blessings🙏
old styled script and jazzy tunes are always welcome to todays available entertainment options. this is something my dad brushed off on me, bless his soul
Very good movie !! Highly underrated. RIP Phil Bosco, one of the best comedic actors, ever, without even trying to be funny. Truly one of the hardest arts to master for an actor. RIP Robert Stack, truly one of the best actors to grace the silver screens. He WAS, in every way, Elliot Ness ! RIP Charles Durning, one of the best supporting actors ever ! Every character he ever played was made very believable. Truly the mark of a great actor.
An emotional moment towards the end of the movie for me. Seeing the elder Robert Stack play Eliot Ness 30 years after the legendary TV series brought back my own life time memories of watching him the play the role in awe 35 years ago. Growing up as a child watching gangster movies, every kid in our neighbourhood loved the role of the gangster. I pretended to be Eliot Ness Thank you Robert Stack and thank you to the real Eliot Ness for the great memories 🙏
I have to share with ya'll. Mom born 1920's looked so much like Robert Stack (mostly hair) Plus, Judge Judy look alike and The Queen of England Queen Elizabeth. Mom born in Scotland. Us five kids bought her a wig for a Christmas present in exactly the same style, cut and the same color!! circa mid 70's Mom was the best we also bought her a family ring. RIP Mom
Man some actors had such signature voices and Robert Stack was one of them. Don’t think I ever heard Rich Little do him though. My dad loved the old series in the 50’s. Hope you’re ok Dad. Thanks for the great life that you gave me. !
I loved watching the series, The Untouchables, when it first aired on TV in 1959. I was just a child then, but enjoyed watching it with my parents. Robert Stack was Eliot Ness back then as well, so he'd aged really well as he was born in 1919 and died in 2003, so he was 72 when this film was made in 1991. Would have given this a "like" were it not for all the ads.
@Darrell: This isn't 61 years old. It was made in 1991. The story itself is more like 90 years old though as this story is set in 1930s Chicago during Prohibition. We're now in the 2020s. What do you mean, no commercials. There are commercials on this film. Are we watching the same film? :)
@@amethyst9998 Seems that Y-T makes some see commercials and favored ones not. To myself, they do not show. The trick I think, is to get favored. Just HOW one might do that, is beyond me.
As an avid movie fan the continuity was spot on , the music score fit the times , and the acting by all fit the bill, it was a totally enjoyable watchable experience!
I did miss the voice of Walter Winchell, though. Halfway through it seemed there was something missing and realized it was the narration. Except for that, you’re right, it was well done. I remember watching the original when I was 11 in 1959.
This movie takes me back to 1967-8 when I was 13 or 14 years old and watching UNTOUCHABLE great Eliot Ness play by Robert Stack and now he shows in this age still great artist.
I watched the Untouchables in the early 1960s, Robert Stack was the original Elliott Ness. In late 1975 in Tennessee the tv stations aired the reruns, and i watched all of them with my soon to be wife. We just celebrated 48 years of marriage!
I'm guessing you did not like Kevin Costner in the movie then,by the way I like Robert Stack in the tv series,I haven't seen the 1980s movie 🙂🙂 Paula x
Wow, loved this movie as it brought me back to my pre-teens days watching "The Untouchables" TV series. Robert Stack will always be the real Elliott Ness in my mind....
I always the intouchables when I small with my family members. Now watching this brings back Joy. Robert Stack always got his Man ♂️. You're never be forgotten. We 💕 love you!!! Rest in peace ☮️🕊️
What a beautiful experience to see Robert Stack as Elliot Ness, that reminds me about my past life as a detective in Perú, he plays the rol like a real cop. Rest in Peace Robert Stack, you finished your purpose in life with grace.
What a hugely enjoyable film this was. Loved it. Corny, yes, but that only added to the huge charm of it. Wiseguys wisecracking, wonderful period touches, some "proper" tailoring, when dress sense, well, made sense, and Robert Stack (among other excellent actors).....terrific! Thank you so much, BabyBoom.
Great movie, the kind I'd have watched in a single sitting if I didn't had to grab bags of munchies along the way. Great performances from the entire cast. Classy editing. I'll be watching this again before Christmas. Thank you, BabyBoom.
Wow I'm a big fan of 'The Untouchables' tv series and never knew this made for television movie existed.. I'm gonna watch it tonight without kids interruptions.
Great movie ,loved every minute of it . I used to watch the untouchables every time it was on . That was the time of good T.V unlike now with all the " reality " garbage like X Factor
I was a teenager, I loved it; after decades of non hearing it, Gianni Morandi brought it to life through this old but lovely movy, I could not believe of that feeling of remembering MY FIRST LOVE! Gianni tanti Grazie!
I remember finding this movie on VHS, I’m wanting to say at a gas station, in 1997. I haven’t seen this since then, but I always enjoyed it. My favorite line that Ness has in this is “Don’t show your badge if you can’t back it up.”

Great to see Robert Stack return to the role that made him famous. As the host of "Unsolved Mysteries," Stack profiled Ness in his later years in Cleveland and the one case that he could not solve.
I have now discovered it on my phone ..the return was great. I'll be looking in out for the the other movies. I have not seen these series since 1960. I will be looking out for Elliot's archenemy. Mr Frank Nitti
Maybe not the BEST cops and robbers show that I've seen lately but it sure warmed my heart to see Elliot Ness again. Ness has a "look" that spoke volumes to those that got it. Like Leroy Brown who was also from Chicago, you don't mess with Ness! 😂
“The Return of Eliot Ness” is that rarity - a well-made TV movie, every bit as good as a feature film. The timing was good, too, with a revival of interest in Ness after the big-screen “Untouchables.” Robert Stack was in his seventies and still in good form. Add to that a fine supporting cast, including the distinguished stage actor Philip Bosco. (“Roses” Molto, great character!) The costumes, production design, and music were also top-notch. I’ve enjoyed this film more than once.
@@angelsone-five7912 You may have been thinking of the real Eliot Ness. Steadfastly refusing bribes from the underworld, faced with personal problems he tried to drown in a bottle, he died of heart attack, penniless, at the age of 54.
As a lover of gangster movies the Untouchables was one of the few true to life TV shows. The producers of the show got actors that look almost identical to the actual person. Prohibition & bootleg booze was what Ness & the untouchables were out to stop. Gambling , racketeering & prostitution was part of this era in history. My mother told me about shoot outs, cars blown up & gangsters & hitmen coming into her restaurant in the 1930's. She lived through these very few years of prohibition. We would watch that TV show together & she would say "that's just the way it was" Al Capone was sent to prison by Eliot Ness for income tax evasion. He never expected that.
THIS is a great flick! Although completely fictitious the actors give stellar performances: Stack is his usual Eliot Ness tough guy, Coleman is a great copper, and Black is a sultry gangster dame.
