Just came across this online:
Kendrick Lamar's song sample of choice for "6:16 in LA" is "What a Wonderful Thing Love Is" by Al Green. The significance of this is that Drake's uncle, Mabon "Teenie" Hodges, was the guitarist and a songwriter for Al Green. Hodges, who was Drake's father's brother, died in 2014.
The image has so many meanings:
- It's Drake's personal glove that has the Maybach logo on it
- It shows Drake that someone in his own camp took that picture and sent it to Kendrick
- A black glove was essential in OJ's murder trial
- OJ got off on murder charges because of the black glove even though everyone kinda knew at he time he did do it
- Telling Drake the gloves are off now when Kendrick found out he was looking for dirt on the streets to use against him
