Minus the shield, I think the other changes should be implemented. If Ball gets to give shields to allies, Doom should too. Maybe tweaking the numbers and implementation so that it's more consistent tho. Power block could be a "resource" rather than a cooldown too.
@bridgetopeace7449 I LOVE the shield. It makes Doom so much better to Dive with, and let's you actually block CC Cooldowns. Playing with, as, and against Doom felt great with this update, genuinely they should keep everything except the Meteor strike Beat Drop
@@fizzlock the only way they'll give him a shield is by nerfing his mobility, which I don't want. In my experience, it's let me steamroll and get steamrolled a LOT. I'm talking literally holding outside the spawn door for the whole match. Several times.

He'd still be vulnerable while going offensive, and there would be a back-and-forth of trying to bait shield and trying to bait CCs. I hate power block as an ability, but this made it feel genuinely good. I'm fine if it's lower HP, 800 is a lot, but I'd rather them keep the mobility and that shield, and then adjust him from there. His ult still sucks, and once characters like Sombra and Orisa are going against him, it's gonna be easier to deal with.

I noticed that Doom and Widow being the strongest... Mainly because Doom can do everything in this patch and Widow being widow with a better ability that enabled her to hold a match hostage. My favorite hero in this event is definitely Bastion mostly due to freedom to movement and shotgun along with the ability to get information on when to strike.
While the shield doesn't fit the character, I like the idea of some minor tweaks on doomfist. Maybe like ball, nothing that breaks the character but still adds to it.
His block should totally have a smaller shield to parry with. If they put in effort too they could make it like a short block that charges his punch with specific hero abilities. Like imagine parrying a sleepdart or cass nade in like a .75 second timeframe and you just have empowered.
Change power block to be a small, 150 or so health barrier that's only slightly wider and taller than Doom, sort of like Brig's barrier, breaking it empowers punch and after it's broken you get like a 30 or 50% damage resistance. Less outright tankiness than current block but immunity to ranged CCs from the front like Ana dart and hack, and technically slightly harder to charge but also easier since your reduced damage resistance incentivises enemies to shoot at you more to try to get the kill.

Also I normally play ball, looking for a new tank that isnt absolute garbage (and at higher levels where people will just counter swap into brig + sombra ball becomes nearly unplayable for the few who dont make it their life missions to play hkm) thought doom would be the next tank. Seems like hes better than ball in almost every way except survivability.
i dont play on console so cant help you there. i have guides for ewverything on doom on my YT. doom is a garbage hero so theres no point in picking him. just pick a easy hero, the game is balanced for casuals

Why does he make so many weird flicks for seemingly no reason? is it just a flex? i understand some of them but looking away from the target just to flick back and punch them seems unecesary, unless this one of those mega obscure doom techs i dont know.
looking away whilst charging a punch is supposed to trick enemies into thinking you're rocket punching away when you're actually going for them, people tend to overextend much, much more if they see a retreating doom
Overwatch is getting better and better with their changes. Now all they need to do is BRING BACK HANZO AND JUNKRAT'S BURST DAMAGE COMBO. There is no point in selecting projectile heroes if their is no dps advantage from selecting them. Who cares if people cry about it? One tricks will always cry when their counters kill them.
Mirrorwatch fixes a lot of toxic-for-the-game characters, like Doom and Sombra. Unfortunately, it would make too much sense to implement these changes into the real game. Enjoy them while they last.
I might be crazy or late on this tip, but I notice Certain DF skins (Mostly OW2 Skins) affect his Animation for some of his framerate, damage falloff,and his abilities. Definitely his seismic slam, along with his movement speed. I also notice his recolor skins do not have this issue as much. Has anyone noticed this issue? Or is it just me. FYI I only play on PS5
Barrier is too big and having it on a resource instead of Doom's health as well as blocking CC all make the ability too easy and safe to use. Personally, I think the change actually makes Doom less fun to play as a result. If he were to keep any aspects, I would say allow the Block to body-block projectiles and abilities from hitting teammates behind Doom (shatter, Bomb, turrets, etc). The core issues with Block is that it is unfun to use, and removes both the player's and enemies' agency in how it rewards Empowered Punch and a barrier doesn't solve those issues. Keep Block unique, not just another barrier.

I've always thought that because like, did he lose his arm? Why can dva create a vacuum of dmg but doom can't lift his arm again?
I honestly think he can keep the shield, it just needs to be smaller than a Rein one. Maybe like old Symmetra's oblong barrier?
