This pedal needs to be standard equipment on all new Jazzmasters sold. "Here ya go kid, here's your Jazzmaster. And here's your spring pedal of weirdness. Shoegaze or surf is up to you."
This pedal has a lot going on, and sounds great. It's got this combination of modern, spacey effects that sound lo-fi and vintage at the same time. Definitely my kind of pedal and idea generator.
This has got to be the coolest reverb pedal I've ever come across, bar none. Have to get my hands on this one, the ability to mix and match optical and spring reverb looks like it could allow for an infinite amount of textures.
Just when I thought no one could challenge Source Audio's True Spring, Gamechanger Audio introduces a new non-digital analog competitor. I am stoked to try one!
Thank you so much for showing all of these super cool pedals and of course your superb playing. This channel always leaves me impressed, and I gotta say just keep doin what your doin Andy! :)
Dude I loved how he started moving the knobs with his foot that's huge technique I which more settings could be controlled by foot that's why I love 2-3 button pedals
Feedback! This is the only pedal I've seen come close to the akg-bx series that is so beloved among us springheads. I can't even afford to look at the price..
I’m a big fan. I’ve seen your description with a statement on this being Sponsored Content. My preference is that you would tick the “sponsored content” option in UA-cam. Despite your description explanation, I still feel like it would be the right thing to do. You get paid to make a video of a product, you make it sound awesome, you provide a buy link. Tick the box! You’re awesome.
When Andy began to explain how the pedal works at the beginning, I imagine a looney toons moment, picturing myself wearing a "Dunce Cap," completely bewildered....
Haha, it’s a lot of new information for me too. I thought comparing to guitar pickups would help folks. I don’t fully understand infra-red sensors but regardless, it’s like all these pickups/sensors picking up different tones like your Strat does!
Honestly I thought this was a gimmick when they first announced it. But now I’ve seen the light (haha) - as someone already said, it brings the surf *and* the shoegaze. And with that super-lo-fi echo, it does dub too … so I’m gonna need one. Thanks!
Great review vid. Perfect tasteful playing that really allows us to hear the pedal do it's thing. I REALLY want to buy one of these now. Thanks man, great work!
Had I seen this video back when they were looking to fund this pedal via pre-orders, I’d have signed up! But at the time, it just didn’t seem like something I needed. D’OH! Guess I’m going to buy it after all.
Haha, well I’m happy to finally help! There are so many approaches you can take with it, I could’ve easily spent an hour zoning out with the feedback mode!
Ah man, the Beetle Kill guitar sounding absolutely stellar and that Gristlemaster is quite something, too. (Love the way you used the voicing switch to push it to the top of the mix in the intro jam.) Also, props to Gamechanger Audio for coming out with another uniquely spectacular pedal!
Thanks, those two guitars really balanced each other and happy you noticed the Gristle switch! I used that in place of a boost pedal. Thanks again for the inspiring drums!
What a fantastic and unusual design. I hope they make a rack mount stereo version. This will live on my mixer send. I would love to hear it with other instruments, especially vocals.
I see a lot asking for stereo, that would require two separate tanks so quite like two separate pedals. Might be a pricey endeavor but yes putting in a mixer send would be amazing!
@@AndyDemos I'd bet they could make it stereo without another tank, even if it's just the optical part, will definitely add to the cost though I guess. It is very reasonable!
It really felt like you were nerding out on this pedal, like you were just giddy with it at points haha. Honestly I'm pretty overcome by how innovative it is too. Can totally hear your passion in your playing! On a completely different note, how did you learn to play with your fingers like that? I'd love to play like that. I've always been the most impressed by that (among many other elements of your playing!) I mean at points it sounds EXACTLY like a pick -- do you use your fingernails?
I will wait for the next version with an option to add an expression pedal that can be used in multiple modes…. Really just hinting the developers, very cool pedal.
what does it sound like when you kick the pedal at the end of the song. I started out with a fender practice amp with real spring reverb, kicking it was great fun. 🙂
Hi, thanks for this video ! I was thinking of taking the Element from Anadounds! But now that there is this Light Pedal, it's hard to make a choice! The Gamechanger, for the same price, seems to have a lot more possibilities! Even if these possibilities are not all interesting for me! But you who have been able to test both, could you tell if, in spring position only, the Gamechanger is as good as the Anasounds? Thank you in advance.
What a magical sounding thing. Most pedals I can convince myself I don't need, that I can get a similar sound with others. I'm really struggling with this one.
I just ordered mine because I agree 100% with your statement.....from what I've heard so far it cops alot of cool vintage psych/garage tones...not just surf or experimental.
I've listened to 2 official demos, the optical light technology is a seeiously great idea that someone is yet to exploit in a better way. It has seriously serious potential but I do not seen that here
well, must admit, the thing is nice, but having Source Audio's Ventris and EHX's Super Pulsar makes it not worth it. Super Pulsar provides way too flexible tremolo and Ventris also does a lot different reverbs including e-dome with 2 DSPs and great/best spring emulation (it even has its own tremolo algo). The whole set is 500$ used, both pedals are stereo for two combos.
In the Harmonic mode, the Control selects the frequency up/down while the overall reverb+harmony effects is adjusted by the Spring mix level. The octaves are part of the reverb signal.
No disrespect to Rhett Shull but this is the reverb pedal I'm getting thanks to this demo
This pedal needs to be standard equipment on all new Jazzmasters sold. "Here ya go kid, here's your Jazzmaster. And here's your spring pedal of weirdness. Shoegaze or surf is up to you."
Also, Nels Cline approves
Thats an expensive bundle
No kid could afford that
I just realized that your surname is Springer 😄
This analog pedal slaps back at algorithms. What an ingenious design!
Oh wow slick little nod to radiohead's "My Iron Lung" snuck in there, well played andy
Ya I heard that 2
We are living in a golden age of guitar pedals. Things will be done with guitar that we never thought possible
man! Never been much for spring sounds but that spring reverb in the intro is absolute killer!
This pedal has a lot going on, and sounds great. It's got this combination of modern, spacey effects that sound lo-fi and vintage at the same time. Definitely my kind of pedal and idea generator.

I just never get tired of your playing Andy, it always makes me want to pick my guitar up and fiddle around with the cool sounds I hear you pull off
Andy, that pedal looks like a ton of fun, and it drips !! Love the expression pedal option as well. thx for the inspo
My pleasure, I was also going to show the exp but I opted to just move all the dials. FYI, you can assign exp to any one knob (aside from dry).
@@AndyDemos I'm trying to determine if this is an actual pedal or a Star Trek computer system for guitarist seeking Lunar time travel ... ha ha
I'm getting one. Seems like a pedal just for the types of people who love the psychedelic side of spring reverb like me.
considering it for reggae and dub really but i see ya
What would you say after spending some time with it? Did it fit your psychedelic expectations?
How did it turned out?
I think the man has been lost in the majesty of the psychedelic reverberations of the pedal.
Thank you so much for showing all of these super cool pedals and of course your superb playing. This channel always leaves me impressed, and I gotta say just keep doin what your doin Andy! :)
Thank you so much, it’s always been about music first for me. I’m glad you find them helpful ✌️
Dude I loved how he started moving the knobs with his foot that's huge technique I which more settings could be controlled by foot that's why I love 2-3 button pedals
Thanks for watching! I should mention the Exp pedal is very helpful in controlling most of the knobs, I just used my foot for visual aid.
Been waiting so long for this, looks amazing!
Great to see you here!!!! ^^^^^ this guy rips check out their music!!
Yo your page has soundtracked my past year thank you so much

I was expecting £500 at least, I was very pleasantly surprised
Gettin some Radiohead sounding vibes from your playing, great demo Andy!
Felt that too
Nobody does the demo better! Fantastic job, Andy!

Best demo yet, very clear from this what the pedal can actually do.
I was resistive to this at first.
Can’t deny what it is.
Very cool!
Yep, definitely adding that to my guitarsonal
This is such a wonderful demonstration. I can really get a sense of the potential of the pedal. In the right hands, at least! Thank you.
Thank you, happy to help!

Awesome guitar overload💥💥 what a creative out of the box pedal .I like it.
I need this pedal sooooo bad
Awesome demo as always Andy, thank you so much for the inspiration!
You sold me , just bought it, thanks again
Andy!! The guitarists guitarist prime mover!
Awesomeness on the GameChanger Light Pedal.

Great overall demo too!
Always tasteful, Andy.
Thank you!
Need three of these on my board.
Andy can take any mode on any pedal and make it sound incredible no matter what it is
nice
Nice Barrie Cadogan tones in there..."Why Don't You Do It"!
I will wait for the next version with an option to add an expression pedal that can be used in multiple modes…. Really just hinting the developers, very cool pedal.
was waiting for your review
Feedback mode sounds exactly like that sound in the background of "ferris wheel" by Donovan
That's some foot skills on the pedal control knobs.
This thing is crazy cool
pretty cool tech
Awesome demo. My only question is does the pedal include a pair of those sneaks. Damn, you were workin that pedal with no hands like a champ.
I’d rather keep playing and also bending down sucks! 😁
Awesome guitar player and awesome pedal. She will be mine oh she will be mine.
Nice video!
Love the feedback
Wow, this thing!
Boy this video got real “The Last of Us” around 11:05
Godspeed in a box
Wow dope! How much you wanna bet they will put a mini leslie rotor speaker in a pedal for univibe effect one of these days ?
I really hope they do! Not a lot of good mini Leslies out there👍🏻

What was the song played in the intro?
That was an Andy original, thanks!
Nice
Dope !
Oh no... I need this pedal... 😩
1000th like (:
I don't mean to be this guy cuz Andy's the man...but do I hear the eddie heizleman keeley pedal demo in the background.. or am I crazy?

Andy does the Gristlemaster Tele have a 1-3/4" nut???
I measured and found a typical 1 11/16” nut width.
