She's pure charisma. Even when she DOESN'T hit notes, she still pops. I wish they showed crowd shots more in this. I've seen it with other crowds she sings to. They're really engaged. That's the motivational speaking aspect with her--the performance is about that audience engagement more than her actual singing. And yeah, she's not just a Flautist, but a VERY good one. Classically trained. I'd recommend watching her entire set at Glastonbury to see her at her best. You get the best sense there how her entire performance persona is crafted around promoting the idea of self respect and self love.
I went to her performance at ACL this past year and it was one of the most magical experiences I've ever had. So much self-love in one place wrapped up in a bow with her pure charisma. Everyone was vibing and having the time of their lives. It was simply otherworldly.

I think the strange "vibrato" was intentional. I feel like it's because her natural vibrato is on the slower side so it wouldnt fit the rhythm of that section so she intentionally sped it up.
As a voice teacher myself I also reacted to it before Tara took it up. You can clearly hear her become more and more tired and a bit out of breath the longer the last song goes on. Not weird at all, especially that song is hard work and she's going for it hard. Being a singer is so much more than perfect technique though, just loved this concert and how can you not love Lizzo!

Before you said that , I wanted to talk about how Harry Styles does a great job singing this song, but he's absolutely nothing compared to Lizzo on this song! Wowser! I really haven't checked her out since I watched this "tiny desk" performance last year.

The choirs from the Cardinal Shehan School Community and Krieger Schechter Day School “Reach Out and Touch Somebody’s Hand” and “Imagine.” A black youth choir singing with a Jewish youth choir together to honor MLK. Tara, it was POWERFUL! If you react to this, you won’t be sorry. And you love choirs!
To me the goatish sound in Juice we hear is probably just due to her voice being tired? I know my voice tends to tremble on higher notes what it gets strained or tired. That being said her flute solo after is so flawless haha! And tbh I love how real she is. She sings with such pure joy, the ''less good'' notes just don't matter! She's just having fun! And she reminds me to have fun when I practice my own singing too!

Her dad died and her mom moved, so she went to Minneapolis and worked in the independent music scene. Her flute is named Sasha and has her own Instagram page. I really enjoyed your reaction! You can sing it yourself to demonstrate exactly what you mean--one of few vocal teacher I have listened to who can do that! You must have a great ear! I came for Lizzo, and I will be back for you.
