I bought several Chindi Rugs at Five Below. When I got home, I put one in the dryer on air fluff for about an hour, changing the filter every 15 minutes. I then took it apart, put the fabric pieces in lingerie bags and tossed them in the washer with some jeans to make sure they got pushed and shoved about. Next step was to put the lingerie bags in the dryer. Final step was the long, tedious process of ironing all the fabric strips and cutting off the loose threads. My final plan is make a quilt that it sort of boro/sashiko/kawandi-inspired. It will be a colorful, crazy quilt style with all the fabric bits held in place with running stitches.
I'm currently taking one apart. It's a bit of a mixed bag so far, quite raggy. I'm hoping after I've washed them they will fluff up a bit. Did you use conditioner and a low temperature?
Absolutely beautiful ! I recently undid mine and yeah, for sure musty lol. But I Cant wait to see you upload videos on how you use these cuties in future projects my dear.
I was thinking to do that too, I have a 5 Below rug! That is so much scrap, great for clusters and ruffles. Thank you for sharing!

I got a big one of these rugs at Aldi’s for $15
Can I put them in the dryer?
Not sure. I suppose you could on low heat or just fluff. I let mine dry on a drying rack. Thanks for watching!
Good content, your audio is very low. Thank you for sharing.
