Thank you, Stephen! Excellent…please do more of these. No matter where you are on your art journey, there is always something to learn! I was a student of Bob Ross for several years. He showed me how not to be afraid of paint and canvas. However, as with any teacher, you will move on to discover your own expression. Never get stuck with just one way! Hope you keeping well, dear friend!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Just fascinating technique.. simple yet effective.. yielding most natural results! Your tutorials are by far the easiest to follow and most interesting out there. I am a big fan of yours Stephen...:) i'm just speechless...
80% thinner and 20% linseed oil? This was a fantastic tutorial!! As I said before, I use the wet on wet technique primarily but I use 2-3 colors in my trees, water, clouds, etc… I’ve found that it adds a bit of realism. That is one thing that drew me to your tutorials! Your depth and realism. Spot on brother 👍🏼
Steven that was awesome, thank you. showing the variations using Lamp Black should help a ;lot of painters. One painting or tutorial I would like to see you doo is a farm scene with the appearance of plowed rows. I struggle with the shadows and highlight to show the rows and how they are valleys and mounds of dirt. Thank you
Thanks so much for your tips and techniques in this tutorial, it certainly has helped, and I think it would help anyone, beginner or someone with a little more knowledge in painting. Looking forward to your next patreon tutorial. 👏🏻

Hi Stephen this was brilliant I haven't painted a picture in oil yet as I paint in watercolour however I will try as soon as I pluck up the courage to get started. I have bought some water mixable oils do you think this would be a good starting point. Until next time take care and stay safe my friend.
I tried to use linseedoil only to make my paint thinner and because I just tried to practice first I just used regular paper without gesso. And my paint dries extremely quickly. Could that be because of the paper?
I did this painting with you...going to try and email it to you. Do you still have the same email address. Love working with you thanks for all ur tips. Rose

I love canvas boards , also a lot easier to frame because they are shallow .
Yes they are much more hard wearing also... i love using them...
Thank you so much 💜🙏

Thank you very much. I have used watermixables in the past. You may find the consistency a little tricky but they are very good.
Merci 🤩
Hello do you ever use acrylics instead of oil paints? Xxxx
I did use acrylics for many years and enjoyed using them...i prefer oils for blending and vibrancy of colours etc.
@@EasyOilPainting thank you xxx

Yes paper is extremely dry. You will need to prime whatever you are painting on. It really helps the paint move around...
I pressed the patreon button. It said the link could not be found.
Sorry Max. I think that may be an old link. Try this one.
