  • We recreate an episode of MeatEater by doing our own Catch and Cook in Hawaii.
    I hopped on a plane and headed over to Kauai. That's where I met up with local spearfishing legend, Brian Fern, to catch octopus, and parrotfish, learn how to improve spearguns, and even did a catch and cook for the family.

    Kauaʻi gotta be one of the easiest or easier islands to learn how to dive in Hawai'i. Oʻahu is the most challenging and then maybe Maui next.

    Nice catch bro must'uv been an awesome experience in kauai i love stuff uhu and i think the leaves that you were wrapping the uhu with was T leaves.... but banana leaves are also very good to use when preparing a uhu like this it gives it a nice smoky tast to it just like when we make an " imu "for any type of family gathering...but T leaves are jus as good it dose the job too but awesome video and Mahalo for sharing and stay blessed 💪 🙏 🤙 shoots💪🤙

      Oh snaps, I really thought they were banana leaves. Either way, super tasty :). Mahalo!

    I like to be able to taste one of the most delicate and best tasting fish on the planet with a bit of salt and pepper only. I get maybe chucking the kitchen sink at a trevally or a jack I think you call them.

    Would the polyethylene foam fill be suitable for a aluminium barrel gun to stop it sinking so fast due to a reel?

    • @castandspear
      @castandspear  2 роки тому

      Is your barrel filling up with water? Mine did when it was hollow which made it not float as well. The foam guarantees the inside won’t get water logged.
