Hey bro plz I want a help plz reply, I want to submit my project today I have setup all the magic mirror config, but after shuting down the comp how to start again the magic mirror????
Hey Aditya! So I had stripped down the outer plastic of the monitor, but the internal metal bezels were non removable, so I just painted them black so they would not be visible through the other side If your monitor is smaller than the frame, then you can build some supports out of wood and then fix them to the inside of the frame. Although I would recommend that you build your frame itself according to the monitor dimensions Hope this helps.
how should i change display to be portrait automatically when the raspberry PI boots, as i have build everything but unable to change the display to be potrait, i tried doing it by sudo nano /boot/config.txt and adding a line display_rotate=1 but evrything remains the same, please assist
Hello Bhavya, The glass I have used for the build is a one way glass which is transparent on one side and reflective on the other side. If some dark or black material like a cloth is placed on the transparent side, the other side acts just like a normal mirror. This type of glass is easily available from local mirror and glass shops, and they will even cut the glass to your required dimensions. Hope that helps.
Awesome. So the computer need to be always on if we want to use smart mirror? Same question if using raspberry pi, is it has to be always on, or we have to turn the Pi on to use the smart mirror and then shut it down when we don't use it? Thank you.
Hello, Yes, your computer needs to be always on when you need to use the smart mirror, but you can setup a media pc for this and schedule power on /shutdown for the same. You can also use task scheduler in windows 10 to automatically open vmware workstation when the pc is booted up. For raspberry pi, you can use a smart switch such as sonoff to schedule it's power on/off.
you may want to update the script please...step 1 no longer relevant...even after I use the most current nodesource can't pass beyond point number 4 npm install. Tried the alternative "npm not found" error but no luck. Can you please help? Tks
You don't need a virtual machine/raspberry pi os to run Magic mirror in windows. Its design with Nodejs and can work very well in windows. It's built with electron and run fine without much change in windows directly.
Why is everyone after Raspberry pi, can’t you use a smart box and connect it to the display through HDMI.. for android box several apps are readily available instead of tweaking raspberry?? Please help why raspberry is better or android box is better?

@@spindletech358 is it completely two way mirror glass or two way flim stuck in a glass
It's a one way mirror, as it provides a better quality than an acrylic or a glass with a film on it.
