Love, love, love my Spindrift! It’s literally the do everything bike. The virtual pivot Pro 10 suspension platform pedals so amazing yet eats all the big chunk on the way down. This bike loves coil suspension! I’ve ran the DHX2, Super Deluxe Ultimate coil (now Vivid Ult), TTX M2 coil and now Vorsprung Telum shock on my Spindrift. The best thing you can run on these bikes is an O-chain and then you have the most playful DH rig you’ve ever ridden! Truly a park rat’s best friend, yet not afraid to pedal big days as well. Great job PropPain bikes. ❤
This bike really checks a ton of boxes. Great geo, completely reasonable pricing, offers heaps of travel with a modest weight and good anti-squat (could be a good "do it all" enduro rig!). One thing I have not been able to find is any information on the anti-rise. Do you guys have any figures, or could you report on the general braking characteristic? I generally prefer bikes with very low (50%) anti-rise so that things remain active. Also noticed how quiet the bike seemed to be from the video! All I could hear was the sounds of tires and compression dampers!
@@ApexArchery great question, we can check with Propain and see what they say. My feeling from the bike is that it has more than 50% but that’s just shooting from the hip! Pricing on some of the builds are truly an awesome deal considering the build kits.
When would you recommend or prefer the Spindrift Park over a normal 200mm Downhill bike like the Rage? As for me, i am just an average rider who, as a family dad, is able to go 1 or 2x per month to the bikepark, where i do like jumping as well as rough downhill tracks. My current bike, an 27,5“ custom YT Tues with an old marzocchi fork, is not playful enough i.e manuals or lifting the front is incredibly hard. As a former BMXer, I would like to change that with a new bike - but i also enjoy good traction on rough tracks. Alloy is my choice. The Commencal Supreme V5 with its traction or the Spindrift Park with its playfulness are my favorites so far, but its hard to decide for me. Both has its pros and cons… Any suggestions?🙃🙂
The fact that its an online store only makes me a bit nervous for when it will come to warranty stuff or just getting specific parts that are unique to the propain bikes.
Honestly it really was not a HUGE difference, especially with a good setup pressure wise. On the fastest roughest tracks it would be noticeable but for everyday riding I did not see any major downsides. To go even further getting a shock with hydraulic bottom out control would help ease into the last bit of travel. But the X2 did a good job, there was no major wall feeling at the end of the travel. When I did bottom hard it would have happened on any DH bike
That looks like a great park bike for sure! It ate up that tech at Whistler really nice! You tore it up on that. Is it available in the USA? I would imagine shipping to US might add a lot of cost.
@@TheLoamWolf Awesome. Feel free to tell me otherwise, but i think a carbon frame in single crown super enduro format is the sweet spot for this bike. Still incredibly capable (i think) for bike park and shuttles. Dropper post and wide range cassette, carbon frame and wheels. 180 to 190 mm fork. Light enough and efficient to pedal for at least reasonable days. Just change out for a dual crown for park days with maybe a more durable wheelset. Sounds perfectly amazing.
Why tf is nobody providing a dual crown bike, with a dropper post and 12 gears. Not a single manufacturer is offering this. This AL 5 Park with more gears and a dropper post would be the all-in-one-bike. Or am I the only person on planet earth who wants that?
@@sety409 not an option you can choose but can for sure be done! I will ask them if they plan to add this to the builder, should not be hard at all as they have all the parts!
I'm wondering about the CF frame being dual crown compatible, could be a cool to buy a dual crown fork and be able to swap throughout the season depending on where you are riding and how much pedaling. Basically giving you a super enduro and a full on park rig
i have a version 4 carbon i got on a super sale, bike is dopee. running zeb 180 and RS SDU coil (just before they rebranded it and raised the price $200) the newest version 5 carbon is fighter jet style and has some super cool visual lines.. this year's offering only comes in a mullet.. not enough new tech to get me to jump on the latest frame but it looks like a few minor improvements were made that others will def. enjoy.
This rig looks awesome, thinking of getting a new manual ride .love the options this , How does this compare to santacruz New bronson v5 or the atherton a170 / s170 ?
Cole here, I don’t have much experience on these so can’t speak to them but this specific build comes with DT’s. This bike was an early media sample and didn’t have the stock wheelset
@@TheLoamWolf its great that they have options. Of all the components they offer those wheels have been the only thing which dont really cut it in heavy use
Climbs? Lol. This a shuttle/lift bike. Have to be stubborn to grind uphill on this. No single crown option? The cable routing is exposed by the BB and the bike looks like it lacks refinement. Haven't seen Propain winning many UCI events.
The spec tested isn’t a climbing setup, but they offer many other specs with single crown, dropper post and wide range gearing. As for winning races… maybe not on the world stage. We’re pretty certain a top racer could take a Rage to the top step though.
@@TheLoamWolf Fair enough. Thanks for the info. The bike is affordable and probably solid. I didn't realize they had more options in the line-up. I probably skipped that part in the vid. We are an attention deficit world. lol

Heck yeah stoked to hear it, may just have to try that O-Chain to see what it is all about
27.5 aint dead! Good on you Propain Bikes!
Yes please. I’ll take the park version with the Olin’s kit. Unreal deal. Saint brakes, Olin’s suspension front and rear.
Love the scorpion stand

The fact that its an online store only makes me a bit nervous for when it will come to warranty stuff or just getting specific parts that are unique to the propain bikes.
What's the advantage of the dual crown version versus just getting a proper 200 mm DH bike?
It’s a more agile, park-style bike opposed to a more dh race-focused bike.
Beacon hill baby ❤
Is the 180 travel shock for the park bike gonna be noticable over the 200 travel rigs like a Tues? Unsure for my first DH

The new spindrift is the cf. The al is the same frame with different colors.

new carbon frame is still compatible with a 190mm dual crown fork?
Are you guys going to ride it in single crown fork format?
I believe we also have a CF version with the single crown set-up coming in the near future.

WOuld be kind of psycho, but cool to get the dh version, but with 1x12 drivetrain and use it as a DownDuro rig that can climb

Bronson is a trail bike. This is a freeride bike. Enduro is in between these two.
Sounds like you just want a newer bike bro buy one that suits your riding
It's not just a freerude bike tho , depending on the build, etc, it's classed as a super enduro bike , it works on more than just trails.

Can you please tell me the tailgate bike pad model you have on your ford maverick?
It’s a DaKine
wich coler did he use for de decal kit ?
Looks like moongrey
I would argue that a coil fits the carbon bike better and an air shock the aluminium.
Where the motor?
timing is a bit off or? 4 weeks delivery times .....means park season over
Yeah sadly late in the season for the lifts but still time for some shuttles!
buddy its the end of august, thats why you get a bike *before* the season starts
Any anti-cableism here? Or do all models/frames have internal derailleur cable routing?
All frames have the option to run cables internally the classic way 👍
So... No cf park possible?

Propain seem to have a different marketing strategy. I don't think they spend much on racing on world class level.
