@@holydiver757 just some context, people complained that amity were doing the same stuff that sounded the same so they went and changed the sound a bit in which people then complained they went too far. Joel had actually said he wanted to do singing also the fact they had fallen out of love for heavy hence misery. Joel also said he thinks they went too far on this album in terms of not being heavy. They now want to go back heavy. It was in an interview. So was no accident
You still have to do the trilogy. "All Fucked Up,""I Bring the Weather With Me," and "This Could be Heartbreak"
All fucked up fucked me up to watch. Highly recommend if you want to get kicked in the feels.

The Amity Affliction is one of the few bands that has actually made me break down into tears. I feel its the same for most of their fan-base. Alex, please listen to their cover of "born to die" its one of the most visceral songs ever.
I put this band off for a long time because I'm not really into Metalcore it's my least favorite subgenre with the exception of Killswitch Engage and Ice Nine Kills but for the most part Metalcore usually sounds kind of cross between Generic boring music and a Boy Band trying to sound Metal by screaming, so not my subgenre, but they're my Brother In Laws favorite band and he couldn't find anyone to go see them live next year, so I decided to listen to them and was very surprised they're awesome the lyrics are all very relatable, vocals are solid, instrumentally it's good, probably not my favorite band but really good, and now I'll be seeing them live I think in March.
Such an underrated band I wish the “Feels like I’m dying” video wasn’t cut up into a 10 minute film because it’s such a banger and you should hear it

The amity affliction is my favorite metalcore band. Death's hand, Forever are amazing songs too.

What separates good music from great music, is the ability to connect to the listener. Same with movies, comics, etc.
What we are hearing, and feeling, is the literal connection that this song is forming with us. And that tie happens to me with every listen, when I FEEL “I turn my back and fuck it up!”.
That chorus still blows me away. It's so beautiful. I listen to this song every morning on the way to take my kids to school

The Amity Affliction is one of my all time favorite bands, the lead singers voice is something that just hits me in a different way. It’s pure magic, this is one of those bands that just gets you super hyped.

I love this song and this band so much. The way their different voices work together is just amazing. I love how often they reference water and drowning in songs, it's sort of a signature theme for them.

The backup vocalist has an angelic falsetto. I passed on this band for exactly what you touched on about the lead singer being generic. That secondary vocalist sold it for me though. This song actually made my playlist.
I must thank you Alex for doing the first reaction of The Amity Affliction. I’ve been battling with depression since I was 13. This band became my most listened in 2020 on Spotify in only 4 months. It has helped me on my very darkest times.

Amity are hands down a powerful band all there songs hold deep and meaningful lyrics that hit home to many, many people and at times has happened to them IRL. Best Band for me hands down.

Joel just recently started using clean vocals he's always been a screamer. He's still finding his voice I think but it's pretty fantastic as it is at this point.
He actually said that he is going make it a one album thing. He wants Ahren to be center on that because Ahren has the voice of an angel.

When you named Chester i started crying directly like i couldnt hold those tears in at all man.. just think about this people. In the song from Linkin Park's Crawling which came out a loooooong time ago, even then Chester sings "these wounds, they will not heal". Just imagine his depression and inner sadness etc. Crazy strong is he for how he could hold up for soo long.

One of my all time favorite bands. You should check out "i bring the weather with me", "dont lean on me", or "Anchors". Theyre all incredible songs im sure youll enjoy them all.
This is my favorite song off of Misery. I almost lost my mom at the end of 2018 and this was one of the songs that always played through my head. I felt like every time I went into work I had to pretend everything was ok when deep down inside I was terrified that I was going to lose her. I lost my grandmother in the same month and Parting Gift by Our Hollow, Our Home become another song I listened to nonstop. If you want another great track by The Amity Affliction you should check out All I Do Is Sink.

In the Same “sinking” motif, The River by Parkway Drive is a similarly gut-wrenching song. One of my favorites off of ‘Atlas’, the others being The Blue and the Grey and the title track, Atlas, itself. Highly recommend you check those three out, they’re very good. Good luck with your move, Alex!
