I've been using this for over a year now but have never read any instructions. I've just been winging it, mostly using it to create a map of my movement so I can find my way around, either going forward or finding my way back (I wander off trail a fair bit). But I felt like learning about it more and found your video on UA-cam. Really well done! You stuck to the basics and I got a lot out of it! I will always be amazed at how they can come up with stuff like this and appreciate your clear explanation about how it works! Thanks!
Thanks! If you want to go deeper, we host monthly masterclasses where we go in depth on how to plan specific objectives. Join one of our live webinars sometime! ua-cam.com/video/08akYbVuzGM/v-deo.html
I've been using this for a while for hiking but this summer I started using it for kayaking. It's not as useful because some of the features don't translate to water but measuring distance down River and marking camp spots and stuff is really handy. I don't know if it's even possible to add more watersports features but it would be really cool.
I'm using this daily riding dirt-bikes in the national forest on roads trails and single tracks, connecting thru WLF Enduro . It's nice to know if I'm "legal" and for what "user groups" the trail is open to use it; horses, hikers, bikers, atv, etc. Android device & patiently waiting. 👍
You save it by clicking the trail, when the window opens there’s a bookmark like in Instagram… it’s next to the X on the right of that pop up. That’ll save it
Nice maps, crap routes. Alltrails is better for navigating hikes. For example, Im getting ready to take the middle route to San Jacinto Peak. That's a popular trail combo you don't have. You have Deer Springs and the San Jacinto Peak Loop. If I select the loop, only half the route is highlighted green and I can't get rid of the blue highlights of the surrounding trails. Alltrails locks on the route and only highlights the route I want to take.
Only getting 40' contours on the topo map. Am I missing the setting somewhere to get 10' contours? Please help, 40' contours are completely worthless for backcountry application in my area.
the onX Backcountry app shows your location on a map in real time! You can view your location when you're out of cell service in our app if you download an offline map of the area you will be hiking in before you leave cell service.
I am so sorry 3D is not yet available for Android devices. Our team is working hard to build this feature for Android's and hope to have it released soon.

Lol
Nice video. It would be nice if there were a basic intro instruction video. I can't save an existing route to gpx file for my smartwatch.

Does this app sync with Apple Health? I love OnX’s features, my only hesitation is having to run multiple apps to track my fitness data.
Why can’t I save a trail? This is like the most basic feature we need 😥

This app is total garbage on android. Nothing works at all. Searching a map, displaying a map, nothing.
Sadly, this vid is highly out of date and tough to follow.
not available for android what is that shit.

Was just about to download this app and pay for premium too. So much for that.
